so after 3 months, it is finished.

i completed all endings, did 48/50 achivements (not gonna find the 20 bobbleheads and i dont have the patience to get to 100 happiness)

good game. still felt like something was "missing" though. idk

i didnt have the transformational type experience one gets in Witcher or ME but jesus content content content

gonna skip the DLC, not worth it, time to gamefly and catch up on overwatch, BF1, deus ex, COD, and dishonored 2

Perhaps not enough to ignite much interest, but I'm probably gonna fuck around with ps4 mods for a couple weeks.

I had totally written off the entire possibility a couple months ago, but I'm coming to terms with having a good time when my lowest expectations are exceeded

A good move would be to wait a year or two and then pick up the dlc for cheap. Instead of replaying the main game in the future just do far harbor and nuka world

Awesome. I loved all the fallouts.

However, that fallout New Orleans would be awesome.

Still think Fallout 5 will be somewhere in Europe. Fallout Paris

Replaying 3 at the moment and still running with 4. Plan on picking up New Vegas soon for again.

Never tried the legion so that's probably my route

I think the ability to be actually evil in FO3 means so much to the franchise and was such a big part of why I found FO4 so bland. The moral decisions in FO3 were actual and carried weight. The moral decisions in FO4 were how sarcastic you were.

I'm not sure he spend like 10 hours modding. he said he only wanted mods that fit with the lore and made the game harder iirc.

He said the first 40 hours of the game was fucking awful because he was so weak.

the way healthpoints work are way more hard too. he also has to stay hydrated, well fed and get sleep. its pretty hilarous.

1 skill point per level, except 5 points at levels that are multiples of 5. I think he mentioned endgame was 30. believe the mod is called horizon.

Have now put probably 30+ hours into immersive-gameplay + survival with a few other mods (weather & water redux, no essential NPCs, Scrap That Settlement, a few others) and it's completely changed the game. In all that time, I'm still at level 14 and have gotten as far south as Corvega. It's incredible, but probably not for the faint of heart; I've gone through two raids so far (one completely wiped out Tenpines Bluff's population) and each produced 30+ enemies. A couple hours ago, I had finished delivering armor to Abernathy Farm and the Co-Op (needless to say, with how brutal the the raids are, settlement defense is more crucial than ever), then did a bit of trading and after getting back to the Co-Op, we were ambushed by a party of about 12 radscorpions, which promptly killed me, which was fun.

lazytweaker this is the Fallout we needed.

It's really hard to put it into words. So many little things done right with this mod, and the fact he got it to work on consoles, especially the PS4, is pretty outstanding. Can't recommend it enough.

I will give it a go based on your recommendation. It really seems like it addresses some of the issues I have with the game.

  38. Jake Barnes

    It has it all:
-Very slow leveling, and almost no XP for building stuff in settlements.
-Very high damage output on both sides. The difference in modded gun damage is negligible, it's more about fire rate and accuracy.
-Which leads to VATS, which has been extremely nerfed. Your AP cost for firing is much lower, but the recharge rate is really slow and your accuracy is shit, ESPECIALLY in Power Armor, which is a nice touch; I think PA takes off like five points from Perception. Bloatflies/Stingwings/other fast flying bugs are basically impossible to hit in VATS.
-Fusion Cores are super, super rare and extraordinarily expensive (like 20,000 caps), but the charge lasts FOREVER...I'm still using the same one I got in Concord over 30 hours later.
-Almost no legendary enemies (humans can't be legendary, apparently animals can, but I have yet to see one outside of a radroach and it didn't drop anything)
    - The economy is crap; very few bottlecaps to be found anywhere, same with stimpaks, radaway, etc, and they're very expensive to buy but much more powerful. A stimpak will completely heal you, and Radaway will completely remove radiation. You have to find ways to manufacture value by creating shipments of meat, ammo, produce, etc., which makes farming/hunting/raiding actually essential in order to basically get anything.
    - Full ammo/armor crafting (get UCO and USO if you're going this route).
    - Scrapping/looting in general is much more realistic; when you kill an animal, it drops A TON of meat; Radstags will drop 50ish, Yao Gaui something like 250. The hides are very heavy (the YG was something like 100 pounds), and when you scrap cars, etc., you get like 400 steel instead of 40, but building everything is also much costlier. Turrets are fucking hard to build, but are among the strongest enemies/defenses possible.
-Enemies in general are much smarter/more aggressive, and stick to type (BOS/Gunner/Synths will use tactics and group action, Super Mutants just barrel after you, Raiders are chaotic). Everybody starts with really good armor as well; the Concord raiders have sturdy/heavy stuff with good weapons. That first mission is hellaciously hard, especially since you have no PA.
    - Perk/SPECIAL trees have been completely reworked, in a way that's as close to older Fallout games as possible. You start with the same number of SPECIAL points as the older game, but because of the perk tree being changed, it actually takes investment to get the good stuff.

There's other stuff, but that's what I can immediately think of off the top of my head.

Reading down this list I got more excited the further you got. Perfect angles to address gameplay issues I have with Bethesda since Skyrim. The part where you mention negligible returns on damage with mods really hits home because I hate the fact that exploration and discovery in a game that promotes exploration and discovery has been marginalized since FONV. I want to find the cool shit to use rather than create it because it gives reason to explore. I'm really interested in this. I play on PS4 and really hope it's an option for me. I will absolutely try it out

Also lazytweaker here's the mod order I have currently set up:

Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR)
    SimpleGreen
Unlocked Settlement Objects (Base Game + DLC patches)
    SimpleRed
    SimpleRed/SimpleYellow/SimpleWhite DLC patch
    Water Redux
    Simple Camping (Season Pass)
    No Essential NPCs
    Insignificant Object Remover
    Scrap that Settlement
Unified Clothing Overhaul (Base Game + DLC patches)
Immersive-gameplay (Base game + season pass patch)
    Weather Redux

Feel free to ask any questions about mod purposes or whatever if you don't already know/want to look through bethesda.net for them. I just want you to have a more fulfilling experience than you got with vanilla.

All it does is boost the SPECIAL numbers back to their original levels (you have 47 available points instead of 20 or whatever) to open up more perk trees (which have been reworked anyways) to offer more options on your playstyle. I can vehemently assure you that it does nothing to make you less vulnerable as a player. You start with 90 HP and don't gain any health as you level up; everything has to be done via armor, drugs, food or perks, and idk about which perk does it because Lifegiver has been changed.
