Loving Horizon, highly recommended for anyone that likes 3rd person open world games. Even better story than I was expecting so far, the combat is on point, traversal and exploring is a blast. Can't wait to play the shit out of it this weekend
I just beat the sigma cauldron on normal difficulty. that shit was hard for me. I was almost at the point of changing to easy.
i just did sigma and had no trouble with it whatsoever. maybe because i'm level 18, maybe because i'm a badass. we will never know.
all i did was stealth my way to the boss then put every trap i owned down and dodge rolled through the room until it was dead.
I did that one in what was the supposed to be the final one , but I did it 3rd. Over 30 traps and 30 trip wires it didn't help that much.
Playstation is absolutely killing it with their quality of games in 2017. Nioh and Horizon are both phenomenal, and supposedly Nier:Automata is as well.
Horizon should be higher rated. It's an absolute amazing game. It has a couple faults (mantling and melee combat namely) but it is polished, beautiful with an exceptional narrative and is an absolute blast to play. I rank it (without finishing it yet) as one of this gens best easily so far To add on: It certainly borrows some familiar elements from other games but it still manages to feel incredibly original. That is something that just doesn't happen often anymore
I think horizon's melee system works fine. The idea is to dismantle or stun then crit. Melee doesnt dismantle for shit but a solid r2 is all you need. Biggest issues for me, by far, are the voice acting and dialogue as a whole. I'm pretty fucking socially retarded and can barely function in a social setting but god damn if i couldnt write better dialogue than that shit. And at no point is anyone outside of Rost and the guy Lance Reddick voices believeable about anything ever. Oh, everyone in your entire world was just slaughtered? I couldnt tell due to the lack of emotion in everything everyone said.
Melee combat may work fine but it's pretty bland and I never really wanna use it. I think the bow more than makes up for it though. I enjoy Aloy as a character, the dialogue so far doesn't bother me but some of the voice actors could certainly be better
I like Aloy a lot too but her demeanor seems to go from cautious naivety to pompous arrogance seemingly at random.
yeah, i think a lot of the dialogue is well done, but there are definitely instances that are jarring and pull you out of the experience. Wish they would have let Naughty Dog do the mo-cap, they've got that shit locked, the faces really don't emote, which to me is the difference in this gen between successful and less successful storytelling.
I agree the faces during dialogue are out of place but I really couldn't care less. I'm thoroughly enjoying this game.
no doubt, it doesn't change a game for me one whit, even the voice acting doesn't change my enjoyment of the game, just a wish list item for Horizon: Second Dawn
i actually really enjoyed it. wasnt nearly as good as the ps2 days, but whatever. the facial movement tho was terrible. was probably only for japanese, so it didnt sync up at all.
after the HUGE delay between 13 and 15 (and the crapton of meh sequels for 13) and seeing what could have been and what they cut from the game, I was pretty disappointed with it.
it performs fine assuming your internet isn't complete shit. if there's a lot of games on there you want to play def check it out, like if you're a lifetime xbox guy who recently made the change or a new gamer. prices are too high for me because i've played most things on there, but i have subbed a couple times for a month or so just to play one game.
I am an xbox guy that recently jumped ship. The wife and I have been thinking of upping our internet anyway because it currently is on the low end so this should just substantiate that situation.
Piggyback question... Does PSVue run through a PSTV? PSTV does this thing where it does not play Netflix, Amazon, Hulu apps on remote connection. Probably the most confusing and frustrating thins about the whole device.
I mean PSTV as in the little box that remote plays PS4. It will feed basically all ps4 features and applications to the box but the apps I mentioned will not work on it. I'm gonna google jus askin here first.
