LOL at the Rock ice skating out the drivers door to push a moving torpedo to aim it the writing room for these movies has got to just be fun as shit
Currently sitting at 76% on RT after 21 reviews. Apparently Statham and The Rock's rivalry/bromance is the best part of the movie, which I thought was pretty obvious in the trailers.
You just look at the cast for these things and realize it has to be the most fun thing going. Hope to have time to see it tomorrow.
I was kinda disappointed in it. It definitely wasn't as fun as the others have been for me. The Rock is still great. Statham was pretty good. But the subtraction from the cast over the past few movies is taking its toll. Losing Brian, Han, and Wonder Woman leaves things spread kinda thin with what's left.
And Statham as a good guy has me so damned excited for 9. Spoiler When he and his brother rolled into the plane with jet packs on, I literally cheered.
Haha I leaned in to tell my wife to watch for it, forgetting she has no idea what to look for. When he did it I said under my breath "The fucking Brahma Bull" to which she looked at my grinning face with rolled eyes.
my god it blew me away i laughed. i cried. i cheered. just a full range of emotions. It was just so enjoyable.
Han outside of TD was a bit stale and not much of a character to me, and Statham brings so much more to the table, and I love GG but Nathalie Emmanuel is much better fit looks wise and character wise.
Fast and the Furious Series to End With Tenth Film http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04...s-series-to-end-with-tenth-film-says-producer
Saw it last night and loved it. After his surprisingly hilarious performance in Spy Staham has grown on me recently and I really enjoyed his scenes. I had no idea about the feud between Diesel and the rock A week before filming ended, Dwayne Johnson had a secret meeting with co-star and executive producer Vin Diesel to address personal and professional issues between the two. This happened after Diesel reportedly canceled some of Johnson's planned scenes at the last minute. On several occasions, Diesel also reportedly refused to show up to the set as he was scheduled, leaving hundreds of cast, crew & extras waiting on set for him for more than six hours. In response to this, Dwayne posted on Instagram: "This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. Universal has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling - you're right. Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on Fast 8 and I'll finish strong. ;/ #IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses" Diesel confronted Johnson in a secret meeting, the day after Dwayne's message was posted online. However, they were not able to resolve their issues.
shocking that the most boring part of the franchise is jealous/feels threatened by the most entertaining and exciting part of it.
Just got home. Awesome and ridiculous, as expected. However, the further we get from the event, the more it bugs me how they wrote Brian and Mia out. The reference to them during the movie was dumb - especially now that Dom and Letty are in the exact same position. Cipher(stupid fucking name btw) pointed out the exact same thing to Dom as Dom did to Brian, in 7: they were still in the game for the thrill. Is Dom just going to retire now, too? Of course not, so the storyline of Brian and Mia just quitting(even in the face of group and world chaos) is dumb. I don't know how, but they should have killed Brian, I think. Also, everyone in the theater knew Dom Jr was going to be named Brian - which is also dumb, since Dom has another bff that actually died in the movies, so why not name him that, if Brian and Mia are just off in paradise, retired?
Last bit of rant: the only thing I could think of when Cipher was explaining her grand plan to Dom was john Travolta in Swordfish. And then the gang and went all Groot on Dom at the end and I laughed a little.
