Just imagine being Trudeau and having to explain NAFTA to a five year old. I'm assuming that's what happened.
A major American newspaper had to set up a page using a URL that combines the Pres' name with "claims".
can we see the alternate reality where Hillary says she thought the job would be easier and she liked her previous life more because I'm pretty sure there'd be impeachment papers presented within ten seconds flat and Fox News would be screaming constantly and raping everything pretty well I guess they're already doing the latter
Their stock tanked and is down 9% since the announcement to pay their employees. Happened to walmart too last year. Their stock tanked and investors hated it b/c they argued if they pay their shitty low wage people a little bit more, they'll save money in the long run b/c they can attract better works, will have less turn over, etc....Wall Street said fuck you we want our Short Term profits and downgraded their outlook on the company.
You guys, it's that doing away with visitor logs thing. Thank god we did that or we'd be in shutdown mode.
He's got a lot of awful opinions. When he stands by himself, he looks like a piece of shit. When he stands next to Donald Trump, he looks pretty okayee
Sorry I want the democratic party to actually have power again and understand that it's gonna take rural white people in order to accomplish that task. I'm so team Jason Kander it's unbelievable. Mainly because that dude would sweep the Midwest just with that stupid gun trick.
Advocate continued poisoning of American citizens Advocate him catching a beating for it Yeah I'm cool with it.
That's the problem. You think things should be a certain way. They aren't though. It doesn't matter who those people voted for on top of that. Do you think only people who vote for a specific candidate should have access to drinking water?
Being the Party of the plebs and not soliciting the largest group of plebs in the country is how you wind up having no power at all.
If in order to do that you have to stop advocating for people's civil rights then I would like for them to go a different route.
Everyone should. It's a basic necessity. Y'all constantly advocate for violence though when we live in a country where you can simply vote people out of office.
You don't have to stop advocating for people's civil rights. You just have to not make civil rights as much of the message. Or do something to appeal to them I don't have the answer. Because you can't fight for civil rights unless you're actually in office to do it. It's why we keep getting made fun of for whining and protesting. We don't have people in office to do the shit we need them to be doing. Our only option is protest. That's a shitty option.
Do you believe there's no element of violence in withholding the votes to make sure people have drinking water?
The people of Flint did not vote for the guy trying to withhold the money they need to fix the problem. They didn't vote for Governor Snyder or his emergency managers that caused it. They got fucked over despite their vote - not because of it.
Here's a hypothetical: If the only way to get clean water to flint is to run a candidate who barely talks about the racial issue surrounding the flint water crisis, would you do it? If you say no, then how can you even act like you actually give a shit about those people?
The government works for the people, not the other way around. When government stops working for the people, there's violence. It's weird you're not blaming a government for failing to provide a "basic necessity" but instead your opinion is basically "well wait a few years and vote them out of office."
Goddamn am I reminded of this: Spoiler Gekko: The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons – and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It's bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price per paper clip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it. Now, you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you, Buddy? It's the free market.
It's a yes or no hypothetical situation. Would you take that guy if it's the only way to help those people?
The problem is that it's often times not the Democrats bringing up race, they just don't back down when it gets brought up that the people that are mostly affected are blacks.
In such an environment, think about how much power the party that had the unified impoverished vote would be able to wield? Of course it isn't. Republicans want us to talk about race, religion, or abortion all the time. What other way are they gonna get poor white people to vote for them?
It's a yes or no hypothetical to try and make a greater point, but the flaw is that your hypothetical doesn't apply at all to the larger context. I may as well ask "if the only way to bring clean water to the people of Flint was to shoot yourself in the head, would you do it?" It just isn't relevant.
