Civilian control of the military is kind of a tenet of our democracy that some of you in here supposedly fought for so you can spare us the tears.
Yes, but you must admit that there's a problem when you're no longer allowed to sexually assault women like in the old days, what is the world coming to?
So why do they keep rushing the vote on this? Why not make the bill halfway decent and not commit political suicide for a bill that won't pass the Senate anyhow?
It's not about succeeding, it's about saying they did what they campaigned to do, then blaming the Senate.
the process is long and painful plus people seem to like the aca and we can't have them getting in the way of the legislative agenda
I'm pretty sure these dumbfucks think "pre-existing condition" only applies to illnesses that you're born with:
they're politically suicidal, they think because they ran on this they have to pass something the House Freedom Caucus says we won't support anything that doesn't meet X,Y,Z criteria. that criteria is suicidal. the best move is to fucking ignore it and move on or pass some real minor changes to make the ACA better then take ownership of a popular program
Trump demands a win so he destroys the careers of these republicans. If it wasn't gonna kill people I would say good.
there's no reason to believe that that matters everyone sucks and they'll probably gain seats over it after blaming dems for obstructing
On second thought, I'm not sure these right wing idiots actually understand what pre-existing condition" means, like at all.
this is true. we only got 50% turnout when one of the options was donald trump so people caring about the midterms seems unlikely
the vote is scheduled for 1pm tomorrow they're still short votes the guys on the fence are going to harassed over night
I've said from the start the only option is to go all the way or do nothing. Bomb them when they first pop up or do nothing. I agree with you on the war on drugs.
I'll disagree with you on bombing the shit out of them. You can't win a war against an ideology, especially if you're only resorting bombs and guns.
It's not a win-win for Democrats. When it's terrible, Republican media will blame Democrats and TheChatches and C A N Es of the world will believe it.
I know that facts don't matter anymore but my non-juggsian research says there are 130 million non elderly people with pre-existing conditions. So perhaps Bill meant that 4% of China's plus India's combined population. https://www.americanprogress.org/is...e-existing-conditions-congressional-district/
those people aren't gettable when people start losing their health insurance, premiums rise even faster, or people get completely denied you're going to see a constant stream of national news stories about this the Democrats got killed the last six years for voting FOR giving people health insurance, Republicans will get crucified for voting FOR taking away peoples healthcare
I know much about the bill hasn't been released, but is there any real difference between it and the previous one they tried to shove through?
Senator Young, I would just love to know why I'm being hurt by this hasty health care act. Not only am I white, but I'm male! And straight! I was born without a birth defect, which proves my worthiness to live. I think the Republicans are punishing me accidentally. Can you please do all you can to prevent the Republicans from accidentally punishing us good hombres? In law, Blackstone's ratio says "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer." I think the same should be for healthcare. It is better that 10 cancer patients accidentally get health care than I accidentally suffer despite my superior genes. Maybe we should give everyone health care! That would solve the issue and piss off Obama. Let me know what you think. Regards.
That fuck moved into a new district that he will never lose. After he got beat by a black woman in his old one.
they basically added some money for high risk pools from my understanding, which is why most national pundits are stunned that is all it took to get moderates swayed oh and high risk pools always run out of money, provide shit care, then start denying people. they have never worked.
They must have the votes, there's no way they'd announce a time without already knowing they have the votes. That's how they fucked up last time.
As I understand it, a pre-existing condition applies to any health issues you've had prior to your current health insurance provider. I'm pretty sure it affects, essentially, anyone anytime they get a new policy.
ummmm why would you give them the benefit of the doubt they're likely trying to use it as leverage again
Yeah it's become very clear (I think you posted this earlier) that so many of these Rs have no idea what pre-existing conditions mean. I got denied before the clause when I changed jobs and got on a new insurance plan. That's literally all it takes.
It uninsures more people which, in line with family values, appeals to the most conservative GOP house members. but we honestly need to see more of it, and the CBO review. They've added some changes to it today that no one has seen.
Dear Congressman xxx, I'm glad you're voting for the healthcare bill. Just like you, I hate the majority of people who live in this country and want them to die. This healthcare bill will go a long way in making sure that people I don't like perish. I will be spreading this message over all forums of social media. Our motivations and opinions shouldn't have to stay shackled in our minds anymore. Thank you for taking a stand in killing poors, undesirables and people I simply do not have patience for. Best.
People also say trickle down never works but yet here we are about to try trickle down and high risk pools again because this time we are going to get it right.
