I'm saying the plot of the LOTR trilogy is a lot fucking deeper than your one sentence summary and has a dozen or so sub-plots that have a lot of substance. John Wick 1's plot is shallow as fuck an can adequately be summarized in one sentence.
So, you're saying there's more twists and turns along the hero's path than what can be said in one sentence?
TIL that the original John Wick was actually a Christopher Nolan film and the plot is much deeper than I imagined
The plot of the first movie didn't need to be deep or complex because the movie was made to showcase the action. I seem to remember interviews with Keanu and his fight choreographer buddy where they said the main reason they made the first one was to showcase action sequences in a way that Hollywood wasn't doing.
Or John Wick 2 was about his extremely personal reaction to the relatively small inciting incident in 1 which brought his professional demons to the surface, and eventually lead him to one final personal reaction and foolish decision which causes him to be LITERALLY trying to run from everything at the end of 2 To me it was deeper than 1 but you can think one's better but still think they're both amazing
Would you say you adequately described the plot of JW2 in one sentence here? It appears you did. CRAZY!!!!!
Watched it last night. Fantastic movie. Curious how they tie the ending into the third movie but it shows it was obviously planned for a third.
Guessing third movie is everyone after him? It is a fantastic series and although some didnt like it, I appreciated the world being built.
Just finished. Great action. The "shopping" / getting the gadgets is always a cool ass part of these movies. One thing I wondered. How many movies has Common been a bodyguard/henchman in a movie and what's his success rate for keeping said boss alive? Not good Common. Not good
I liked John Wick, but I liked Chapter 2 WAY more after seeing it for the first time. The only thing I didn't like was the Russians at the beginning. Felt a little corny and repetitive and I was worried, and then the Italian shows up and I was hard for the remainder of the film. Winston and the hotel clerk are my favorite characters other than Wick.
There were a couple of funny moments. I loved he and Common casually shooting at each other in the train station.
Am kind of leaning towards that, the pause in it was when she asked him of he feared damnation, and his single tap was in essence relieving her of her own...
Just finished rewatching both films yet again. Already my favorite action franchise of all time. Second movie left for the third film to be a glorious bloodbath.
https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2017...derway-john-wick-chapter-3-filming-dates-set/ With a summer 2019 release date set, Omega Underground is reporting that pre-production work is now underway on John Wick: Chapter 3, with casting set to take place after the holidays ahead of a spring start date. The threequel will see Keanu Reeves reprising the title role, and reuniting with John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 screenwriter Derek Kolstad, who has now completed his script. At present, Chad Stahelski – who co-directed the first movie with David Leitch before going solo on the second – is serving as a “prep director”, although it’s unclear whether he will helm the movie or not. SEE ALSO: Keanu Reeves offers John Wick: Chapter 3 story idea The John Wick franchise has recently expanded with the launch of a new comic book prequel series [check out a preview here], while a TV spinoff based around The Continental is also in development.
Ooh, definitely interested in that or prequel stuff. TV show couple be good if it was on a premium channel or AMC or something but not holding out hope for that.
Yea that and the Continental stuff was what I am most excited for. There is a TON of options they can go with. This is almost to the level of what the Marvel series is doing.
Currently drinking some good beers and doing my 100th rewatch of the two movies. Amazing how much they hold up rewatch after rewatch. Just bought the two on 4k for less than $30
It wasn’t really. He stabbed Common and Ruby in the same place. Told Common if you touch it, you’ll bleed out and die. Lets him live. Later does the same thing to Ruby and deliberately pulls it out (so that she would bleed out and die). Not sure why anyone WOULD want her back. She did absolute jack shit outside of make menacing sign language threats.
