I was hoping he would spend the summer tour with Chelsea and get to work with conte for a bit but a premier league loan makes sense and Newcastle is a pretty good landing spot for him. If he has a good year I think he might actually defy all odds and get a chance at Chelsea.
I was surprised it went so long with no one else mentioning it. Maybe I am a bigger fan than most. I'm a huge fan. Supposedly City want him as well if we can't get Alexis.
City supposedly in talks with Southampton about Bertrand. Originally reported as a backup if we don't get Mendy but seeing that we want both of them and going to bring in 4 total fullbacks this summer
Yeah either would surprise me. I don't get it for City as much as I like him. Nolito on loan but still have Sané, Sterling, and now B Silva plus possibly some use out there for KDB
He left Chelsea because he didn't want to backup Ashley cole. I don't see him signing on with a player like mendy. He would be a good get though. Always liked Bertrand but respected that he wanted to play. Unfortunately the season after we left was when Ashley cole went off a cliff.
Maximilian Philipp will move from the Freiburg Sportclub to Borussia Dortmund next season. http://www.bvb.de/News/Uebersicht/Borussia-Dortmund-nimmt-Maximilian-Philipp-unter-Vertrag
Smart for him with the WC next summer. Playing time is going to be first and foremost to a lot of folks moving around this summer.
Multiple reports from Spain that Bellerin and Barcelona have agreed to personal terms, fee expected to be around 50m euros: http://www.football-espana.net/64466/bellerin-agrees-barca-move-reports
I posted it on the Real Madrid thread because it's just a rumor, but Spanish press is saying that Real Madrid is behind Donnarumma's contract extension rejection. Real Madrid would target Donnarumma for the 18/19 season. http://www.football-espana.net/64471/madrid-target-2018-donnarumma-deal
i got a notification from espn last night, but idk didn't seem like they based their reports on anything reliable
Have seen a lot of reports of Dortmund being interested in Balotelli: http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/dort...alotelli-but-nice-is-attempting-to-extend-him
Southampton would rather there was a bidding war between van Dijk's potential suitors, and are looking for a price of between £65m and £75m: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...s/liverpool-van-dijk-transfer-latest-13148886
None of this is shocking to anyone who has followed Liverpool in the transfer market for the past few years.
Sky Italia reports Liverpool made a €20m [£17.3m] bid for Stefan de Vrij, but it was rejected by Lazio. http://www.football-italia.net/103786/sky-liverpool-rejected-de-vrij
Here's the official statement: Liverpool Football Club would like to put on record our regret over recent media speculation regarding Southampton Football Club and player transfers between the two clubs. We apologise to the owner, board of directors and fans of Southampton for any misunderstanding regarding Virgil van Dijk. We respect Southampton's position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player.
Or you don't feel like getting in a bidding war with City and Chelsea which is pretty understandable. 65+ on a center back is pretty outrageous, especially when Fonte and Lovren were great there too and suck now.
So city v Chelsea bidding war for VVD? Seems to guarantee he will shatter the CB transfer record which is exactly what Southampton want. I think he ends up at city. Chelsea haven't been stingy but roman seems a bit shy with the checkbook as of late with the new stadium on the horizon.
Let City get him, we shouldn't be following their lead on CB targets if their track record is anything to go by.
Turin-based newspaper La Stampa reporting that Chelsea offered €40m for Alex Sandro and that juve would sell for €50m. Would be a great get. If I were ranking the best LB in the world I would have Sandro behind only Marcelo.
