Finished the campaign last night. I liked the last few missions but I wish there had been more. Unfortunately they could do something awesome and it won't match the suicide mission for me. When can we start discussing decisions everyone made?
Haven't played yet but though Bioware fans might find this article interesting http://www.polygon.com/2017/4/18/15324366/mass-effect-andromeda-open-world-bioware Dear BioWare: Stop making open-world games
should be obvious who I pursued (Suvi didnt work out - apparently she, not Cora, is the lesbian) but I can say with confidence that Cora looks like someone who would be found at a crossfit gym.
since we did not import any save from the past games (specifically ME3), they could have written their own backstory - maybe we dont know b/c everyone is just waking up and its TBD? my hunch is that the quarian ark is DLC.
PS - I did not realize that the original trilogy was available on EA Access. If I hook up my old 360 and save my game date to the cloud, can I import that to my XB1 playthroughs?
I thought you could but I don't remember. I was messing around in RDR and thought it still showed cloud saves in the save options.
If I had to guess, I never saved my game data to the cloud to begin with. Dragging my 360 out just to do a 5 second sync...
Game is fucking great. Just got vitality high enough for an outpost on Voeld. I really love the colonizing aspect.
you think it's a great game, meanwhile the studio that made it is close to getting shut down and the series as a whole is in stasis
Still a good game that, in typical ea fashion, was released before it was finished. It's almost like releasing an unfinished game is bad for business.
eh they gave the project to their C team who outsourced far too much shit. i'm not sure more time would have made a difference.
Voeld 100% viable now. Really a fan of the Architect boss battles. Lost several hours of progress on Eos due to a glitch so I pivoted to finishing Havarl and Voeld yesterday. I'm still trying to figure out my loadout. I love concussive shot but I think I want to switch to 2 biotic powers because I've been using seismic wave or whatever and it sucks dick. Throw or pull maybe? Anyone use tech powers?
the first was the toughest imo, a quality sniper rifle plus the soldier ability overdrive/charge? makes destroying the conduits much easier.
Which one? I had a glitch lose about 3 hours of progress on Eos where I had taken that one down so I rage quit that planet for the time being and did Voeld first. Don't know if there was a supposed order I was supposed to tackle those.
Saw in the news the game was restarted several times and really bulk of it was made in last 18 months. It shows. Very half baked, could have been legendary, but ended up being just a fun game. I'm a homer but it was fun. It's a AAA series so subsequent Andromedas will sell. Not worried about the future, they'll put in the time on the next one.
Finally made it to Elaaden last night. I have 100% viability on Eos, Voeld, and Kadara and loyalty of 3/6 team members. Feels like I'm finally about to get back to the main story after I wrap it up on this planet. Fortunately, I have Thursday off of work. Any ideas on how much I've got left? There's only one cluster I haven't visited and it's the one where I need to hunt the Archon.
You've got a good way to go. More clusters open up (that Archon mission isn't the last one) - no other big planets, but you still have Havarl, too.
Activated the Remnant City. I swear to god if they add any more clusters after what I just cleared out...
It is done. I feel the need for rankings. Gameplay: 3, Andromeda, 2, 1 Story: 1, 2, Andromeda, 3 It firmly fits within the Mass Effect universe and I enjoyed the subtle references to the original trilogy. Ryder was more likable than Shepard to me. The crew was a bit lacking and I hated that we couldn't bring a Salarian into the squad. The Angaran and Biotic Commando ended up being my favorite combo but ultimately, the game necessitated different combos for some different objectives and gave me the chance to hear some of the different banter. Always an outstanding part of the ME franchise. My playthrough took 69 hours and there was definitely fluff but I achieved 100% viability in the cluster and on all planets in that time. Overall, really happy I played it.
The only Dragon's Age game I have played for more than an hour or two was the most recent (Inquisition?), the conversations between the squad mates was unexpected and actually evolved over time. Maybe it was bound to happen but 2 of the main people I used in my squad ended up in a relationship - it was the bull/human/giant hybrid voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr and the fire magician guy. Out of nowhere they began to recall their boning sessions. I too used the Angaran and the chick with the blonde butch haircut. They ended up repeating the same stuff over and over.
Spoiler: end-game spoiler We have to be getting DLC eventually where we're enlisted to save the quarians, right? Sounded like their ark had finally arrived and was stocked up with hanar and elcor as well. Worth hanging onto this game for that?
Depends what you could get for it. There isnt a guarantee they will make DLC as Bioware has put the series on hold.
Hey, friends. So I know the initial impression wasn't great but does it become worth as the game progresses? Its currently on sale for xbox summer sale for 30.
For $30, I say yes. It's fun but lacks any semblance of linear progression. There's a lot of fun missions to do that ultimately will funnel you to the end, though.
Gotcha, thanks. I've played every other ME game multiple times, but I remember when it came out people were complaining about the dialogue, sync issues and some other stuff that while not major did take away from the experience.
