Family wants a pool. Nobody wants to pay for it. Nobody wants to maintain it. Nobody cares that we have two amazing community pools and a lazy river in our neighborhood that we pay for through our HOA dues. Nobody cares that we get invited to tons of pool parties nearly every weekend.
You have a lazy river in your neighborhood? I'm probably over estimating this but I imagine something like MGM Grand's where you could just hop in your tube and float down to your neighbors house. Grab a beer and float around the neighborhod would be awesome.
I live in a neighborhood with two pools and tons of amenities that I pay for through HOA and CDD dues. I also own a pool. Having a pool is 100% worth it.
A pool/spa and outdoor kitchen and living area is my dream. Don't want the unwashed masses getting in the way of my R&R.
Have you ever considered that your family doesn't really want a pool and is just involved in a long-term troll in an attempt to get you to waste more money that you did with your ORIG investment?
Your family is wrong, and you are right IMO. I really hope some of our neighbors get pools though since we don't have a shared neighborhood pool.
This is a horrible take. Having your own pool is the GOAT if you live in a state like Florida or Texas.
Got an email that little angler is about to be bumped up to Toddler I from Infant II at daycare in a month. Wife started crying like he was getting shipped out to boarding school or something. Toddler I also means no more bottles of milk. My 10 minutes of hell every night is washing damn bottles.
So my wife took a test and we found out #2 is on its way. Go to the 1st ultrasound and find out its #2 and #3 Anyone out there with twins? #1 will be ~20 months when they are born.
my recommendation is to go out for smokes and never come back unless one of them turns out to be good at sports
Yessir. This was a couple weeks ago, so the initial shock has worn off. 2nd ultrasound was last Friday and everything looked perfect.
my friend that has twins thinks at their current age (2) it is somewhat easier because they entertain themselves more than a regular two year old. I think it would be tough to go from 1 to twins because you know the difference.
My wife's step-sister went for a 3rd and final child but got twins. However, that is nothing compared to the shock her cousin got weeks later when they found out they were pregnant with #3, 4 & 5.
"Hey, do you need to use your pody?" "No" "Then what are you doing?" "I'm just playing with my penis" "Why?" "Because it's really fun to play with" "Fair enough"
4 month shots today. handled them like a champ again, cried maybe 30 seconds? mama has to be at home with him though, hope he is feeling fine and sleeps well tonight. at 2 months he slept like a champ cause he was so worn out
My 2 1/2yo went to the dr today too, first time given prescription meds and actually sick. Got back and tried to give her the meds and everywhere, only made it to the second of the three. Ear infection, laryngitis, and upper respiratory infection.
So when my son was born, my wife didn't want to get him circumcised. Fast forward 5 years and now the doctor is thinking it would be in his best interest to go ahead and circumsise him. Anyone ever went through that at or near this age? They say they would put to sleep, so that's given even more anxiety to my wife.
I've shared this story here before, but my son was circumcised at birth but the doctor didn't "take enough off" so he has kind of a tweener weiner. He has more foreskin than a normal circumcised penis, but less than an uncut penis. His original pediatrician said he just had a fat pad pushing the foreskin up and that once he started being mobile, he would lose weight there and it would look cut. Well, he did and it didn't, and here we are. He's 5 now and I wish we had done a circumcision revision when he was younger. He doesn't understand he has to pull the foreskin back to pee, so it's constantly red and irritated. In the bath, I have to pull it back and clean it, which often hurts him because of the irritation. I wouldn't put him through a revision now though. I can't imagine recovery for a kid that active. We did read horror stories about revisions where they took too much and it lead to cracking and extreme pain. Not to mention he has such a tiny penis, I don't know what would be left if they took some of the foreskin.
Doing circs was the worst part of residency by far. Baby gets strapped down like Jesus on the cross. We perform a "penile block" which is essentially local anesthesia but it never seemed to help. And then we start chopping and occasionally give the baby sweet water to soothe which doesn't help much either. The screams from those babies are horrific. Worst one we ever did was on this black baby that had a large penis. We got 1/2way into the procedure when we ran into a problem with the meatus (opening at the tip). It was very large and interfering with the procedure. So we consult urology and wait seemingly forever for them to come look at the baby. Finally they arrive and diagnose the baby with "mega meatus". They recommended we stop the procedure and have the baby follow up in 1 week at their clinic. So we returned the baby all mangled and bloody and agitated and said "follow up outpatient in one week". That was brutal.
Have you ever tried to change a woman's mind? Backstory is when I met my wife she already had a 4 year old son and she didn't get him circumcised either. He is now 19 and never had any problems. Basically in her mind, it would be the same. She had her mind set. I am not really worried about the procedure itself. The pain after and length of time for recuperation is mainly what I was curious about. I have read up on it, but I figured I would see if anyone here had any first hand experience with this type of situation.
I bet that was some pissed off parents. I don't think I could do it. The screams would get to me, I think.
We were living in Portland when we had the DustBall and our poor Dr got such a defeated look on her face when it came to the "Are we goin to vaccinate are we going to circumsize?" conversation. She was younger and I knew exactly how she felt cause every day I dealt with "Don't push your cancer causing fluoride/Root Canals/Sealants on me, Gum disease is a myth, I refuse to set foot in the X-ray room, etc, etc." So she starts, "We need to talks about vaccines" and I stopped her "No, we don't. He's getting vaccinated." Then, "ok, good. Now here's why I recommend circumsizion." And my wife interupts "Don't worry, he's getting circumsized as well." She just smiled and said something like "Good god why doesn't it go like that every time."
Wife left the decision to circumcise up to me (unheard of, I know). Remembering how much the 2 guys on my H.S. football team got made fun of for not being circumcised and how everytime I've heard girls say they're weirded out by uncircumcised dongs when it gets brought up made it a no brainer imo.
In one of my better husbanding moves I was able to get my wife to think she made the decision. I wasn't going to take our son home without the procedure being done but I'm not sure how I would have convinced her. When we did a sit down with a pediatrician to decide if he was going to be our choice, I cut her off when she asked about not vaccinating (as if that was a consideration) and said honey, we are vaccinating.
Which movie is a 4 yr old more likely to sit through, Captain Underpants or Cars 3? Based on previews, I'm thinking Captain Underpants.
My 4 year old didn't like captain underpants. We left after 30 minutes. Some of the humor was a bit older for her and she was scared of some of the early parts where basically the principal is made out to be a mean ass hole. It wasnt that scary and I'm sure the fun parts were about to start but it will be a movie we watch at home some day. Haven't seen the new cars but it's probably a safer pick.
Hi hello yes, my son is growing up too fast. He's about to be walking which is impossible because I swear he was just born yesterday. Any recommendations on how to stop him aging
I tried the book on the head thing but that has not impeded my 3.5 year old daughter's growth as planned.
need to get a baby monitor before we head out on vacation. what's the one y'all were recommending a while back? was it summer brand?
