He was arrested for meth, but the crumbs in his car were Krispy Kreme doughnut glaze

An Orlando man was charged with possession of crystal meth with a gun, but a state crime lab proved him right — it was actually glaze from Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

When the man stopped by the 7-Eleven without buying anything and left with an employee in his car, cops were suspicious.

Orlando police were staking out the convenience store, 938 W. Colonial Dr., after neighbors complained of drug activity, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Police saw the man in the silver Chevy leave without stopping at the stop sign and speed off going 42 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, according to the report. They pulled him over.

The officer saw his concealed weapon license, asked to hold onto his gun for safety and had the driver get out of the car. That’s when the veteran officer saw four flakes of a white substance on the floor.

"I recognized through my 11 years of training and experience as a law enforcement officer the substance to be some sort of narcotic," the officer wrote in her report.

The driver let her search the car, and she found more chunks, which two roadside tests showed were crystal methamphetamine.

Daniel Rushing was arrested, charged with possession with a weapon, strip-searched and jailed in December.

The 64-year-old Orlando man told officers he’d never done drugs in his life, and the crumbs were from his Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Weeks later, a state crime lab proved him right.

“I kept telling them, 'That's … glaze from a doughnut. … They tried to say it was crack cocaine at first, then they said, 'No, it's meth, crystal meth," Rushing told the Sentinel.

The 7-Eleven stop was a favor for a church friend, an elderly woman who worked at the service station, he told the paper. Rushing used to treat himself to a Krispy Kreme doughnut every other Wednesday and enjoyed the snack in his car.

The state attorney’s office dropped the case, the Sentinel reported, but Rushing hired a lawyer. He plans to ask the city for damages.

“It feels scary when you haven't done anything wrong and get arrested,” he told the paper. “It's just a terrible feeling."

Pinky the Flamingo Euthanized After Attack at Busch Gardens
    by CORKY SIEMASZKO

Pinky the flamingo, one of the most popular attractions at the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park, had to be put down after a visitor yanked her out of an enclosure and threw her to the ground Tuesday, police said.

"Due to the defendant's actions the flamingo suffered serious injuries and had to be euthanized," police said in a statement.

Police arrested Joseph Anthony Carrao, 45, of Orlando, and charged him with animal cruelty.

Carrao was in the park's Jambo Junction Animal Viewing Area with his family around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday when, for reasons unclear, he went after the bird.

"The defendant was witnessed by other patrons throwing the flamingo to the ground," the police statement read.

Busch Gardens spokeswoman Karen Varga-Sinka said Pinky was a Chilean flamingo and "one of our animal ambassadors."

"Pinky was a beloved member of the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay family and made many appearances on behalf of the park's conservation and education efforts," Varga-Sinka said in a statement. "She will be sorely missed."

Heard this story on the radio this morning and turns out it's fake, but considering it involves a Florida Man everyone just went with it.

Kind of disappointed because I figured Jorts and dblplay1212 would know the Jacksonville stripper

A classic tale of news aggregation gone wrong

If you wanted to trick a bunch of media outlets into picking up a fake viral story, how would you go about it?

First, you'd probably choose the state of Florida, which can probably start counting weird news stories among its major exports. Second, you'd throw up a website with a generic newspaper name. Third, come up with some sort of news story that is tailor-made to bring in the clicks.

And here we are, with the "Florida Sun Post," and a story about a Miami millionaire who accidentally married his daughter.

All indications point to the story and the website being fake. That hasn't stopped numerous media outlets from picking up the story, including The Independent, Elite Daily, Complex and UK tabloid The Sun. Those reports then spread further, with the New York Post, picking up theSun's report.

The questionable nature of the story and website was first noticed by whoever runs the Twitter parody account @_FloridaMan, which is dedicated to weird Florida news.

Fake news continues to permeate the internet, with the occasional story getting picked up by mainstream outlets. Facebook has struggled to keep fake news out of its Trending Topics section now that it is almost entirely run by algorithms. A particularly infamous fake internet story circulated in 2014 about a woman who claimed to have gotten surgery to add a third breast.

Another fake story centered on a claim that Michael Jordan was going to move the Charlotte Hornets out of North Carolina. That was perpetrated in part by a fake ABC News website that has a similar web address and similar look to the real ABC News website.

Scratching the surface of the "Florida Sun Post" website reveals that the page was begun just a few days ago, as noted by the Twitter account.

The site itself also seems off in a variety of ways. Every story expect for the one that has gone viral is behind a paywall, and there seems to be almost no coherence to the stories on the various pages. Much of it has an international bent, including the "Sport" page, which includes cricket coverage.

Strangely enough, I could not find the viral marriage story anywhere on its site. The story appears to only be accessible if you have the direct link. The story also appears to be the only article outsides of a paywall. We did not want to pay the $4.99 to see what lay behind it.

The story itself is also very strangely written. There is no byline, although the post claims that the unnamed man talked to "reporters" and the woman talked to "journalists."

Other stories on the website appear to be based on other reports, such as a teen in Pensacola fatally stabbing his older brother. That story was posted on Monday, although the Associated Press published about the incident on Friday.

Deeper parts of the website appear to be copy-and-paste jobs. The privacy page appears to be verbatim from freeprivacypolicy.com. The "terms" page is slightly most customized, and claims to have been last edited on Jan. 15, 2010.

I reached out to the website through its contact page, and received back an email that Google immediately deemed suspicious.

Despite what appears to be a very fake website possibly designed to go viral (the website's pages are loaded with sponsored links that tend to generate a decent amount of cash when displayed on highly trafficked pages), the story had spread relatively wide by Monday morning.

The Independent appeared to be among he first outlets to aggregate the story. I reached out to them to ask if the article was under review. They did not immediately respond.

But if there was any question over whether the story was gaining steam, Drudge Report still has an active link to the Independent post, meaning the paper has little incentive not to keep on receiving that sweet, sweet Drudge traffic.

The Drudge Report also linked out to the Independent's story from its website and twitter account.

North Palm police: Man called 911, upset mom won’t pay for IHOP

    NORTHERN PBC
    [IMG]

Less than an hour after village police advised a man not to use 911 unnecessarily, the man used the emergency line to complain that his mom wouldn’t give him any money for IHOP, according to a police report.

Gerald Anderson, 52, was arrested Tuesday for misusing the 911 system, after dispatching officers to his house at least 15 times since Sept. 18 for what police described as “frivolous” reasons.

According to a police report, North Palm Beach police officers arrived at Anderson’s house just after midnight, where officers noted that he was heavily intoxicated, as he had been during every interaction when they were dispatched to his house, police said.

An officer mentioned that Anderson has been instructed on the proper uses of 911 multiple times, including just an hour before Tuesday’s International House of Pancakes call.

Anderson was taken to North Palm Beach police headquarters and then to the Palm Beach County Jail where he is currently jailed.

IMG_1323.JPG Naked man drove with wires attached to genitals, police say

Police say a South Florida man was caught naked driving slowly through a neighborhood with children with electrical wires protruding from his penis.

News outlets report 56-year-old Kurt Allen Jenkins faces lewd and lascivious exhibition, exposure of sexual organs and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence charges.

According to a Boynton Beach police report, a witness told officers Monday that the naked man, identified as Jenkins, drove by him, gesturing for him to look toward Jenkins' groin area.

That's when the witness saw an electronic device with wires attached to Jenkins' penis.

The witness said Jenkins asked him to get inside, but he declined and called police.

Arriving officers says Jenkins refused to comply to police commands. He was eventually taken to the ground and handcuffed.

Jenkins was booked into jail on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent exposure and resisting an officer, records show

It's unclear if Jenkins has an attorney.

Florida maid of honor accused of turning wedding into nightmare

A Florida couple's wedding reception was recently ruined when the maid of honor went on a drunken rampage.

The wedding pictures tell the story of a content couple, Brian and Jennifer Butler. They had their cake and first dance while maid of honor Amanda Willis started drinking.

"She was a mess. She drank almost a whole entire bottle of Fireball," said guest Robert Templeton.

"She was drunk within 20 minutes to half an hour," said Jennifer Butler.

Willis started asking people for their keys, according to those in attendance.

"She just went up to the best man and grabbed his keys out of his pocket and jumped in his car," said Templeton.

Willis backed out and almost hit the best man, Brian's brother. He grabbed on to the car and held on.

"She took off, and his feet were dragging across the ground. He had to hit the E-brake," said Templeton.

Guests wrestled Willis out of the car.

"She went back inside. She grabbed up the big bottle of Captain Morgan and just guzzled it like this," said Jennifer Butler.

Then they say she got violent.

Deputies said Willis claimed to be having an asthma attack and started shaking as if she were having a seizure. They took her to Bayfront Punta Gorda, where she exposed herself to deputies, assaulted two medics and kicked over her bedpan, according to the sheriff's office.

This arrest is Willis' ninth in Charlotte County. She faces charges of larceny, battery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and violation of probation.

BOSTWICK, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Florida man leaned in to kiss a rattlesnake — but got bitten instead.

News outlets report the unidentified man was bitten on the tongue Tuesday in the Bostwick area and had to be airlifted to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

WTLV in Jacksonville (https://goo.gl/QHRNTZ ) quoted a friend of the victim as saying that he had been drinking while handling the seemingly calm eastern diamondback. But when he moved toward the reptile as if to kiss it, the snake bit him.

It’s wasn’t immediately clear where the snake came from. It’s illegal to keep a rattlesnake in Florida without a license.

Digging it a little too much! Naked man climbs excavator on a Florida highway and starts masturbating in front of laughing drivers

    • Police and construction workers surround the man on the highway below
    • The masturbating man has not yet been identified by police
Shocking video has emerged of a naked man masturbating while straddling the top of a construction digger's arm on a highway.

The video, which appears to have been shot from a moving car on a Miami Beach highway on Sunday, shows the unnamed man stood at the top of a CAT digger.

As the car passes by the man, it becomes increasingly clear that he is naked - and pleasuring himself.

Unidentified: Florida Highway Patrol officers were on the scene. The man has not yet been identified
LiveLeak, shows the car's occupants cheering as they realize what's happening.

But those on the ground are likely less joyful about the situation.

They include a team of construction workers and Florida Highway Patrol officers.

Exactly why the man is touching himself is unclear.

But the LiveLeak uploader suggested it might be due to 'a hell of a drug'.

A spokesperson for Miami Beach Police Department said they have no record of the incident. Florida Highway Patrol has been contacted for more information.

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/06/us/delta-flight-passenger-cockpit/index.html

Seattle (CNN)An unruly passenger who authorities say was trying to open an exit door on a Delta Air Lines flight to Beijing fought with the cabin crew and a passenger and was conked over the head by a flight attendant with two wine bottles, a criminal complaint alleges.

Joseph Daniel Hudek IV, a 23-year-old passenger from Florida, was arrested after the plane returned to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, FBI spokeswoman Ayn Dietrich-Williams said.

The suspect made an initial appearance in federal court Friday in Seattle, hearing the criminal complaint of one count of interfering with a flight crew. That carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.

The battle in the galley near the cockpit of Delta Flight 129, which was headed to Beijing with 210 passengers and 11 crew aboard, began as the airliner cruised near Canada's western coast about an hour into the flight.

According to a criminal complaint released Friday, Hudek -- who was traveling in first class on a dependent travel pass, a perk afforded to family members employed by the airline -- attempted to open the forward exit door on the right side of the airliner.

Two flight attendants tried to subdue Hudek but were pushed away, and he continued his attempt to open the door. According to the complaint, Hudek was able to move the door handle mechanism and push the emergency release lever halfway.

Aircraft cabin doors cannot be opened at high altitudes because of the differing pressures inside and outside the jet's cabin, and the Delta plane was cruising at high altitude, at 32,000 feet, when the incident happened. However, at a lower altitude, according to the complaint, it was possible the door might open.

The flight attendants then signaled to passengers they needed help. During the altercation, Hudek punched a flight attendant twice in the face and hit another assisting passenger with a bottle of wine. Hudek then attempted again to open the exit door.

As the struggle continued, another flight attendant grabbed two wine bottles and struck Hudek in the head, breaking one.

"Hudek did not seem impacted by the breaking of a full-liter red wine bottle over his head, and instead, shouted 'Do you know who I am?" or something to that extent," according to the complaint. Hudek was able to break away several times during the altercation.

Several first-class passengers and the flight attendants eventually were able to restrain Hudek long enough to put zip-tie handcuffs on him. He remained "extremely combative" all the way back to Seattle and needed to be restrained by multiple passengers until the Delta flight landed, according to the complaint.

A Florida man faces a list of charges after deputies said he reported a bag of cocaine and some cash stolen over the weekend.

David Blackmon, 35, of Fort Walton Beach, called the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office to report the theft Sunday morning, deputies said.

Deputies said Blackmon described himself as a drug dealer and told them someone had gotten into his car and taken $50 and a quarter-ounce of cocaine from the center console.

Powder and crack cocaine as well as a crack pipe were found inside the vehicle, deputies said. The money was nowhere to be found.

Blackmon was booked on charges of cocaine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest without violence, jail records show. He remains in custody in lieu of $4,000 bail.

A couple transporting a barbecue grill was injured Sunday after their SUV exploded, Orlando police said.

Authorities say the crash happened about 3:30 p.m. near the entrance of the Central Florida Fairgrounds near Colonial Drive and Pete Parrish Boulevard.

The couple, who weren’t identified, had a barbecue grill in the back of their red Kia Sorento, Orlando Police Lt. Cindy Lane said.

The grill was turned on and the propane tank was open and connected, Lane said.

Police said the wife went to light up a cigarette and the SUV exploded.

The vehicle continued heading westbound and crashed into a pole, Lane said.

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to six years and five months in prison for accidentally shooting a gun while taking a selfie in a strip club restroom.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa announced 34-year-old Rorn Sorn’s sentencing Monday. The Asian Pride Gang member pleaded guilty in April to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Court documents say Sorn was at Club Lust in St. Petersburg in December when his gun discharged. The bullet went through the mirror and into the adjacent women’s restroom. No injuries were reported.

A security guard approached Sorn as he was leaving, and Sorn reportedly told the guard that it was an accident and that he “was just trying to take a selfie.” Police responded, and officers found a handgun, ammunition and drugs on Sorn.

Sorn has prior felony convictions for burglary and attempted first-degree murder.

A Florida man arrested for destroying a liquor store under construction told police he was Alice in Wonderland and that a "hookah-smoking caterpillar" ordered him to attack the site.

Crestview police said in a post on Facebook that Matthew Horace Jones is accused of breaking into a fenced-in area and using a forklift to cause more than $100,000 in damage. He faces grand theft felony and other charges.

Witnesses called 911 and police went to the site. The police report says Jones aimed the forklift toward officers, who stopped him at gunpoint.

Police quoted Jones as identifying himself as Alice in Wonderland, blaming the attack on "a hookah-smoking caterpillar" and saying that he had a problem with "building a place to sell alcohol."

No lawyer is listed for him.

    The wood, a nice touch.

Calhoun told police that he and Brann were in a relationship and that the incident started because Calhoun suspected Brann of being a cannibal. The two then got into an argument and Brann picked up a gun, according to the report.

Calhoun managed to take the gun away from Brann and tried to shoot him with it, but the gun jammed, the report states. Calhoun then stabbed him in the eyes with a pen and stuffed a piece of wood in his mouth, police said. He ran away as officers surrounded the building. He was arrested shortly after and Brann was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, WTVJ reported.

A Boynton Beach woman was arrested Saturday and faces DUI and child abuse charges after she blew a .200 on a breath test with an unbuckled child in the backseat, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

CBS12 initially reported on the arrest after a tow truck driver noticed Brandy Lerma, 31 of Boynton Beach, swerving on the road, nearly colliding with several cars.

When deputies pulled Lerma over, there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car and an unrestrained 3-year-old in the backseat, police said.

Lerma blew a .200 and a .187 when the responding deputy gave her a breath test. Lerma told police she took several prescription drugs and drank some amount of alcohol, according to the sheriff's office.

(RNN) - A Florida man arrested and charged with drug trafficking tried to hide his cash stash in his buttocks.

    Didn’t work.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said they stopped Pattreon Stokes for speeding and the deputy smelled marijuana.

The police searched the car and said they found 197 grams of meth, rock cocaine, four grams of heroin, a scale, a small amount of pot and large amount of money on his person.

When they arrived at the jail, the money Stokes had on him was missing, the sheriff’s office said in an August Facebook post.

He said the deputies had already collected it.

That’s when they noticed $20 bills falling from his buttock area.

“After a necessary but undesirable process for everyone involved, MCSO detention deputies located $1,090 located in Stokes’ rectum,” the department said.

“Judging from Stokes’ mug shot, he looks pretty ‘bummed’ about the whole situation,” the post said.

The department apologized to all cashiers in Marion County and said if they chose to don gloves as they did their daily duties, they would understand.

They added that Stokes had a 7-month-old child in the front passenger seat of his vehicle when he was apprehended.

He was charged with bunches of things, none of them good.

Florida mom has affair with daughter's husband, attempts to run him over
Kathleen Regina Davis arrested after Sept. 20 in Palm Beach Gardens

can't get pic to post https://www.local10.com/news/crime/...h-daughter-s-husband-attempts-to-run-him-over

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - It was not enough for a Florida woman to have an affair with her daughter's husband; but she had to try to kill him as well.

Davis was upset with Sciarra for ruining her own relationship with her daughter by admitting the two had been involved in an affair.

Davis went to Sciarra's Palm Beach Gardens home and threw eggs at both the house and cars.

Sciarra and Davis' daughter are in the process of being divorced.

Upon arrival, police witnessed Davis driving towards Sciarra in the front of the house in an attempt to run him over.

Police said Davis admitted to wanting to run over Sciarra and that she wanted him to die.

Davis was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
