Sucks we blew that game Friday. If we didn't we'd be going for the sweep of the Nats and to be over .500 at the break. I'd be tuned in like it was game 7 of the World Series.
Agreed and he'd have that short ass porch in RF to pile up the HRs when playing at home. I think we need to seriously try and work a deal with the Yankees for him. I'm thrilled Camargo is back in the starting lineup today. He should be after going 3-4 yesterday and reaching base in all 5 plate appearances. His hustle to prevent the DP yesterday allowed us to bust the game open early on. I've developed a crush on him like I had with Prado. He's switch hitting, has a good frame that should allow his power to improve, plays great defense, he's versatile and we generally win when he's in the lineup. Play the kid as much as possible now!
A prime example why anyone claiming the races should be anything other than sellers is a retard. Trade any piece that will not help this team in 2019. You're not winning shit until then
Unrelated but the Pirates are beating the Cubs 10-0 in the first inning at Wrigley with Lester pulled after 2/3 of an inning pitched. Wow.
Who was the last brave in the HR derby Chipper? Also would freddie have said yes but for injury this year?
He left the pitch up and over the middle to Harper but not sure why he didn't throw a breaking ball there.
Just stupid there by Markakis to throw home. Now you let them tag and put two RISP and take away DP opportunity.
Wonder if AZ might take Markakis or Kemp off of our hands? They could use some help in the corner OF spots. Don't know that we'd get a legit prospect back, but shedding salary would be nice.
I am not bashing him or saying he wont succeed, but if you watch Flowers behind the plate he is reaching all over the place trying to catch Newcomb's pitches (even in that great 2nd inning). Nobody knows where the ball is going to end up when it leaves Newcomb's hand right now. Maybe he will be effectively wild in the future and be successful, I don't know, but hitting your spots is usually a quality of a successful major league pitcher. A perfect example was the 2 strike 2 rbi single from Rendon which was a result of Newcomb not hitting the spot where Flowers wanted the ball. The ball was over the plate and waist high. Newcomb wasn't trying to throw it there, the ball just ended up there and Rendon squared it up. If he keeps it up just throwing 95 mph will not be enough and major league hitters won't miss those balls that high and over the plate.
I was way off on Freddie. I thought he was a great player but I wasn't sure if he was a guy you could build a team around. Now I'm not really sure who I'd trade him for.
If he could keep this up and be paired with Ender at the top of the lineup that'd be really nice table setting for FF.
