Forgot all about this, watching it now The number of people they got involved is amazing and wonderful "I don't really relate to that song because I got different things in my jeep"
Thank you. Was wondering how this hadn't been mentioned yet. Julian Casablancas really owned that track. Also on my list is Ras-Trent. Rude boy living in the shanty dorms. My roommate Nick is an ignorant baldhead.
I feel like Equal Rights is the spiritual predecessor to this underrated gem Promise to cherish, trust, and respect him CRUSHING PUSSY, MARRY A MAN
That's the line that really got me going at first listen on that song. That and "hitting the chalice Ifi made from a sprite can." Some real satirical genius in that song.
Yes it is. The song is hilarious on its own but the video sets it over the top. This moment in particular
Knowing that I could probably look it up on my own to find the answer, which I am affirmatively choosing not to do for the sake of conversation, I've wondered what the division of responsibility amongst them is. I've always assumed it was mainly Samberg as the lyricist, with Akiva acting as producer and Jorma kind of as a utility player, but I have no actual basis for that assumption.
Also, Popstar is absolutely hilarious and I now plan on watching it again this week because is this thread
I've wondered this too. I think Samberg might actually get too much credit as a lyricist because he's the only "star" of the group. I think it's probably more of an even split. And I think one of the reasons the comedy plays so well is that the music is insanely well produced. They could sell half their beats Im for a considerable amount of money.
No doubt about it. So who is the producer? I can't imagine that they all have those kind of chops. Lord help me if I have to look it up myself. Also Roy Rules is on my list of favorite Lonely Island jams, if only for the line "Roy rules! I'd really like to taste him."
I looked it up. Jorma is the producer mainly and Akiva the director. I get the impression that they all write collaboratively.
Think they said on the Wack Album commentary tracks (available on Spotify) that most of their beats are made by professionals who aren't part of the group, which they purchase and then add lyrics to.
Watched today because I had noticed this thread. Was entertained. Can't believe they did Seal like that. Motherfucking wolves.
Just watched Tour de Pharmacy, Pop Star, and 7 Days in Hell again....and yes, 7 Days in Hell is BY FAR the best of the 3
I respect your opinion but Tour de Pharmacy was fucking awesome and pretty neck and neck with 7 Days in Hell imo
Once it got down to the 2 racers it was kinda meh. Stuff like the David Copperfield appearing on Kit's shoulders and Will Forte's eloquent description of "a well done pussy eating symbol" was just amazing in 7 Days in Hell
finally getting to pharmacy The sequence of "fuck me with this" followed by the paintings got me pretty good. Also fuck Joe Buck
I should have told you to fuck off years ago, but instead I just let you become a bigger and bigger dick.
I’ve been ready a book called How to Become a Better E-Friend. It’s dog-eared and everything. It’s also heartening because it also means I can read.
