For anyone dealing with a father or other male authority figure (big brother, uncle, top, dom, etc) that is still full on MAGA, the one thing that can crack the facade is telling them how disappointed in them you are. Not calling them racists or traitors or Russia lovers or Fox bots. Something like, you know, I've always admired you and respected your judgement, and I'm really disappointed that you voted for Trump and and still support him after everything he's done and all the news that has come out. It's caused me to lose some respect for you and I'm not sure I can trust what you say or your advice any more. I wish you would look at what's going on in the country now and consider if it really makes us great and if it's good for our future. Doesn't always work and might piss them off, but deep down telling your dad or another authority figure that you are disappointed in them can be really painful and can make them think, even if they don't respond at first or if they just punch right back. A lot of times commanding respect and admiration is what matters most to them. If not this, figure out what means the most to them and push on those buttons.

My guess is that the administration knows that the cowards in congress will approve Trump's decision to remove sanctions and return the seized property back to Russia.
I don't think they will, that's one issue they have been fairly consistent on. Hell, even John McCain wouldn't vote to remove sanctions and he's an enormous pussy nowadays.
