That can be a good time to play big clubs because the fixture congestion means they may rest regular starters.
players will now be suspended two games retroactively for diving, kinda. the fa will only review the incident if the diving player was awarded a pk or had an opposing team's defender sent off.
This is a horrible rule. Let's say an Everton player dives to get a penalty against Chelsea. That costs Chelsea points. That Everton player is then suspended retroactively 2 games and misses a game against a team competing for the title with Chelsea. It could potentially hurt the team who got screwed in the game a second time. Just need to bring replay in and sort it out in game.
Have you seen Everton's attack? You don't have to worry about them being in the opposing teams penalty area much this season.
Do you mean in game or retroactively? I hated the replay system they used this summer. Just destroys the flow of the game.
For a dive in midfield I would agree but for a dive/foul call in the box that could decide a game I think you have to get it right
not sure where else to put this, but I just saw that James Richardson is leaving the Football Weekly podcast. that's a major bummer.
whatever the fuck they were doing this summer was whack. it's 2017, reviews should be damn near instantaneous. Nevermind when they used the system to only give that dude a yellow instead of the obvious red he deserved for an elbow to the head (forget the exact match that happened in). Have dude sitting in stands, behind 4th official watching game on screen(s). Something comes up, he buzzes into the comm system and tells the ref what he missed. Should be easy peasy.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I heard him on talksport last sunday and I was confused why he was debasing himself by having a show on that channel (Hawksbee and Jacobs excluded)
he's going to have a new show called Totally Football show so that will be worth checking out, but I will his dynamic with the FW regulars.
Yeah it's run by Iain Macintosh so it'll probably still be good but he and Barry, Paolo, Rafa et al had pretty great banter
You're welcome to produce your own. I don't think we start them until the Monday before the season starts at the earliest.
Yeah there aren't any rules but it makes sense to do it as close to the start of the season as possible with the transfer window being open
For the opening weekend of the 2017/18 Premier League season, the US-based talent of NBC Sports will broadcast live from England yet again with Rebecca Lowe, Kyle Martino, Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle bringing you the world’s most popular sports league. In total, NBC Sports will bring viewers in the US approximately 21 hours of on-site broadcasts. The Premier League coverage begins on Friday, August 11 when Arlo White and Kyle Martino commentate the Arsenal-Leicester match. That’s followed by Brighton versus The Pep Smears on Saturday, August 12 with Arlo White and Robbie Earle announcing. Last but not least, Sunday August 13th’s game between Manchester United and West Ham United will feature commentators Arlo White and Robbie Mustoe. Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux will be part of the pitch-side and studio coverage. Rebecca Lowe will be hosting the studio broadcasts, and this will be the first time the Premier League NBC Sports talent will be in England for the opening weekend of the season.
I think it was Fox or BeIN who did the whole 'commentary and play by play from the studio' thing and it went about as well as you'd expect.
I always assumed the announcers were local and that they were saying the studio team will be in the U.K.. Which is where they all live, or own a passport, so I'm not sure why that's a press release.
So the studio guys are doing games now, seems stupid. I'd rather the good ones just keep doing what they do. Throw Phil Neville off a bridge and make sure he's dead.
They've gone to England at some point over the course of the season the past few years and usually get interviews with players/coaches after the game. I wish they'd just keep Arlo and Le Seaux/Dixon but whatever it's just for one week. You seem pretty concerned about a press release.
Anything is better than Tim Howard, except for maybe Stewart Robson who could be doing commentary for a 5v5 match with make a wish foundation kids and still find a moment to take a dig at Mesut Ozil.
So anyone been to London and gotten EPL tickets? Going over at the end of September and trying to figure out how to get tickets to West Ham Spurs. Do they have websites like stubhub over there where you can safely buy tickets?
Yea I have. You should not have a hard time getting tickets to a West Ham game. Ticketbis is a Stubhub subsidiary out of Spain. I have used them in the past and they have good customer service. https://www.ticketbis.net/ I know they were trying to merge Ticketbis with https://intl.stubhub.com/ + https://www.stubhub.co.uk/ so not sure if that has changed with 2017-2018 season. Its all under the same Umbrella. Another website to use is Viagogo. I have only used it for concerts, but they dont have nearly as bad fees as Stubhub. They wont start listing tickets until the actual sales have already happened to WestHam members. If you'd rather pay up for the extrae surety you could purchase a West Ham membership, which gives you access to the tickets when they go on sale August 15. Call their Box Office if you want to make sure youre doing it right. Memberships are only like £30-£50 for most clubs iirc, £42 for WH. https://www.eticketing.co.uk/whufc/memberships.aspx?findmembership=0 WestHam also has an official ticketmaster Ticket Exchange for their season ticket holders. https://www.whufc.com/tickets/ticketexchange PM me if you have any London questions.
Anyone taking in the Community Shield game this beautiful Sunday morning? We've finally made it. This is the last weekend without PL soccer for a while.
