Great show. Episode 8 where they flashed back to everyone at the Resort was filmed across the street from where I live.
I agree. The small percentage of homosexuals compared to the number you see in shows is out of whack. Nothing against homos, I just don't see the point in the over the top shit is this show. It serves no purpose
Few things about episode 8. Not sure if they belong in a spoiler since they really don't spoil anything but I'll put them in anyway. BTW get the fuck over the gay shit in the show. There are gay people I real life having them in a show is no different then any of the other shit. If you're going to be pissed at something be pissed at the fat ugly day strippers we had to see. Spoiler 1. Kids look closer in age in the past compared to present day. 2. Was shocked that it was Marty that got in bed with the cartel and not Bruce. 3. Along with that it was weird that the wife knew all along. 4. How fucking stupid is Bruce to steal from him when he saw the other guy's eyes taken out when he got caught for stealing. 5. Episode one Marty tells Del that Wendy didn't know about the business. In episode 8 we see that is not the case. Marty original doesn't take the job because " She (Wendy) won't go for it"
I knew one of you pussies would cry about someone saying something about the pointless gay crap in the show. What does it add to the show, Ocean? I dont have anything against them, I just feel like the other guy said, this is being shoved down our throats.
Breh, your wife didnt even respect you enough to take your last name. You think Im scared of you? In B4 you ban me again for disagreeing with your soft ass.
Scared of me? Shut the fuck up manlet. Fly to Cali so I can beat the shit out of you or shut the fuck up.
In the episode where it flashes back to them playing golf, Marty hits an iron and the foley artist fucked up and dubbed in the sound of a titanium/composite driver. 0/10
My wife burst into tears when the preacher was holding the baby under water. No action tonight. You win this round Bateman.
Thought the series was great. Lol'd for some reason when the FBI guy threw his mini fridge through his hotel window.
It was a cruel sequence for the viewer. I actually didn't appreciate it and I had my thumb on the power button of my remote praying they wouldn't do what I thought they were doing. Thank god I didn't turn the tv off.
Great show, cringe worthy at points (toenail scene, baby almost being drowned) and keeps you on your toes while having lots of drama Loved it
Episode 1 question Spoiler The amateur porno he was watching repeatedly, was that spy cam footage of his wife cheating on him?
Can someone ELI5 money laundering? Marty uses the kingpin's money to "buy" 25 new air conditioners. He pays the air conditioning company for the four they actually installed, and the money for the other 21 goes into the Blue Cat Lodge bank account. He then says "Holy shit, we're making a lot of money! I better pull some of this out to pay myself!", pays taxes on it and deposits it in the kingpin's Panamanian bank account?
He will have two sets of books one that shows what he actually pays (4 AC) and one fake (25 AC) uses the difference as cash brought in (this is way a cash business is important) and deposits that in the bank and pays taxes on that money. He losses some money because of the taxes but now the money is clean. I think real books (4) is for the boss fake (25) for the IRS.
Marty's backswing would generate nowhere near enough power to strike the ball cleanly enough to produce a pop. -2/11
just finished the show... EP 8 was totally out of place imho. Probably should've put it after EP1 or totally ditch it because at that point of the show I had no interest in what it revealed and it had no impact outside of confirming what an idiot his firm partner was. I also hated how openly he spoke about the cartel and the things he was doing... But those things didn't ruin the show for me. I enjoyed the rest big time. looking forward to season 2
Just finished it, I liked it. Not a fan of the red neck Heroin people, especially the wife. She looks like a meth tweaker. Ep 10 spoiler Spoiler Wish they wouldn't have shot Del, going to assume they know what they're doing because overall it's been a good series but it would've been nice to see them flesh out their new plan a little bit more before killing him
Spoiler i didnt like how they set all that up, there is no way in hell a bigwig in the cartel business brings that little backup to a meeting like that, Marty should of told them how evil the rednecks were and what they had done just in the time he had been there. They would of had a lot of guys there
Spoiler Yeah agreed and thought the same thing but I also thought that it worked well for the story considering the police were waiting for the SUV that was going to be leaving the Snell residence.
Just finished Episode 7 Spoiler Holy shark jump, Batman. The issue with the Snells could have been resolved without resorting to "huh, we need $800K FAST. Oh, I know where we could get it! Hope nobody dies soon! Oh no, she's dead!" That said, every scene with Jason Bateman and Laura Linney is absolute fire. I could watch them yell at each other all day. I'm concerned they've got so many balls in the air plot-wise that they won't be able to rap them all up in what I'm assuming is two episodes since Episode 8 is a flashback.
Agreed that it was just too much of a departure and felt misplaced. edit: It was important content though. I have to wonder if they could have been better served trying to introduce a piece of it a time as flashbacks within each episode. Not sure it would have worked, but it definitely was boring and irritating at the point of the story it was introduced.
Or the cops being in the drive and not hearing a 12 gauge and other gunfire in the house. Want to see what the lodge owner does now.
Running the heroine ring from hymnals at a 15 boat lake congregation just feels insanely dumb. Not just dumb in real life, but even more so dumb as the plot of of a show. It's just ridiculous. Yeah, I really got distracted by every scene she was alone with Bateman. I kept waiting for him to just go full porno mode and fuck her over a pile of cash in the strip club office.
Most things in this show are pretty ridiculous imo. I'm going into episode 9 and I've found Ozark hard to watch. A little too dark, and I don't really find any of the characters very likable at all. Hard to really root for any of them. I find myself not really caring what happens to them whatsoever. I don't find the villains very compelling either (with the slight exception of Ruth), in comparison to multiple ones in Breaking Bad which I am sure this show will, fairly or unfairly, often be compared to. Hopefully it turns around the next few episodes.
This... Spoiler Namely scenes like the guy's mother just casually backs into an empty street and is hit by a semi. Or when Ruth just bullies her two grown uncles into an outdoor cage. Some random things where I just kind of chuckled and thought, "they couldn't do better than that?"
Anyone watched this yet? Been recommended to me too much to put it off. Just now finished the pilot and I'm hooked. It's jarring (in a good way) how quickly it moved.
I thought it was really good. Bateman is surprisingly good without having to be funny. I didn't know much about it at all so I had no expectations. Looking forward to the second season.
