Really wish the Gylfi shit would just end at this point. Im sure we are working on stuff on the back end if he leaves and have been linked with Ryad Boudebouz which would be a fine replacement but fuck if it doesnt feel like this has been going on way too long.
Neymar is the best player in the world right now and he instantly makes PSG a Champions League contender. Doubting his greatness is basically like doubting Cam Newton at this point. And PSG has Qatari money, so Neymar's buyout/contract is just a drop in the bucket to them.
Ronaldo and Messi are both on the downhill sides of their careers, while Neymar is just entering his prime. PSG didn't get to dominate French football by making bad personnel decisions. The fact that they're willing to pay such an insane price for Neymar, and not someone else, is proof of how good he is. Plus, just watch Neymar play. He's an absolute joy to watch and is unbelievable at pushing the pace (so he's basically the anti-Michael Bradley). He's already the heart and soul of Brazil, and this upcoming Champoions League is when he'll finally get his chance to show how special he really is
I hate Ronaldo's personality but Neymar doesn't belong anywhere near the tier of him and Messi's. It pains me to say it but Ronaldo has the edge as best player in the world over Messi at this moment in time.
Just because people keep saying that they're in decline doesn't make it so. Ronaldo's last two seasons might be the best two consecutive years a player has had in generations.
And the fact that he just moved to a second rate league will pretty much eliminate him from consideration. He could score 50 goals in Ligue 1 and people won't respect him all that much for it. He will have to be dominant in the Champions League and I don't think PSG will have that strong of a team even before having to sell off some of their best players to accommodate his transfer.
It's like he didn't even notice that it was Zlatan who was responsible for PSG dominating that league. How can anyone forget about Zlatan?
I also love that he talks like PSG has been running France for decades. Yea they've had a great last 6 years, but prior to that it'd been 20 since they won the league
campbell and now babyrabbit, great. PSG doesn't have to sell shit, they'll keep everyone they want then get another bullshit ffp penalty so uefa can pretend that they are a legitimate governing body
He was already in a second rate league. La Liga is pretty much the same as the French league once you get outside the Top 3-4 teams. The EPL and Bundesliga are really the only two premier leagues, and saying Neymar should be penalized because one of those teams just flat out couldn't afford him is ridiculous. If he leads PSG to a Champions League title, opinions of him are going to change pretty quickly around here
They've only existed for a few decades. MK Dons had about a similar amount of tradition as PSG had before all that Arab money came in.
That's pretty rich coming from an Everton fan. At least Arsenal is willing to spend and has hope for the future. Lacazette isn't Neymar, but he has as much upside as anyone in the EPL.
Uhhh we have been spending like crazy this window. And Arsenal has been notorious over the years for its unwillingness to spend. You must have become a fan like a week ago. And my comment wasn't a slight at Arsenal. Everton have got to get through three more matches to get in the Europa League group stage which Arsenal has already secured.
Mbappe move looks more likely. No word on whether or not remaining in a second tier league like Liga will have any impact on his decision.
There's a part in the musical Hamilton where "Lafayette" is shouted and it would be awesome if Arsenal fans did the same thing with "Lacazette". Hamilton opens in London in the fall so there is a chance it could happen.
if barcelona don't get at least one of dybala, greizman, mbappe, dembele, in addition to an elite midfielder, then the whole board should be replaced. they should probably be replaced anyway.
That's fifteen years longer Cristiano has been around and he's ancient. Should have retired three years ago.
I'm open to hearing your case but with their recent stats being nearly identical I would have to give Ronaldo the edge because the silverware is heavily in his favor. I'm not saying that he will go down in history as being better than Messi. I actually believe the opposite.
It would definitely put an end to the Liverpool chatter which would please me but it always makes me sad when Dortmund lose a star player.
