Sure, but I think that's changed with the amount of money Barcelona now has. He's not Mbappe, but he'll command a large ass deal.
Unnamed English club: Arsenal -2000 Liverpool -1600 City -500 Chelsea -250 United -100 Huddersfield +8000
Glad we can both agree that Arsenal is the thirstiest. People laughed at +5000 for Leicester to win it all 2 years ago. Take the action. Ill give you my paypal acct.
Pastore giving Neymar the no.10. "I want to offer my shirt to Neymar as a welcome act, I want you to feel comfortable and happy from the first day, I am the one who first arrived, I want to give you all the support you need so that we can all win the Champions League together . Small detail, but for me it was very important to have it and now I want to welcome you with that little symbol." In other words, the PSG board told Pastore to give Neymar his number lol.
I don't see it that way, I think you're projecting the typical passive-aggressiveness of American athletes onto European footballers. Pastore seems genuinely happy to have Neymar on the team. This is a good thing for him and everyone on PSG. When they dominate the Ligue and likely compete for the CL title, the profile of all of PSG's guys will be raised.
Rarely agree with wenger but he's spot on here (was trying to quote the second tweet about PSG/Qatar).
I haven't been following this closely but what would be the argument for them to pay it vs. the reason for them not to pay it?
I am not sure as I thought he just had to be a Barcelona player by August 1 or July 31 to meet the bonus.
Here is the complete list of the biggest buy-out fees in world football. Rank Player Club Release clause =1 Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid €1bn =1 Karim Benzema Real Madrid €1bn =3 Gareth Bale Real Madrid €500m =3 James Rodriguez Real Madrid €500m =3 Luka Modric Real Madrid €500m =6 Lionel Messi Barcelona €300m =6 Toni Kroos Real Madrid €300m 8 Neymar Barcelona €222m =9 Luis Suarez Barcelona €200m =9 Andres Iniesta Barcelona €200m =9 Gerard Pique Barcelona €200m =9 Sergio Busquets Barcelona €200m =9 Casemiro Real Madrid €200m =9 Sergio Ramos Real Madrid €200m
Well this article indicates there were 3 conditions for Neymar to get the bonus: There were three conditions: one, that the player didn’t negotiate with another club before Jul. 31; two, that he publicly expressed his decision to fulfil his contract; and three, the payment was to be made on Sept. 1, to ensure he didn’t go to another club. http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...-neymar-26-million-euro-renewal-bonus-6207817
Marca reporting that terms have been agreed between Mbappe and #Real Madrid Contract would be for six years at 7m euros per season: http://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/08/03/59823d6fe2704e30638b459b.html
In the spirit of fairness there is another article indicating that Mbappe's agent has reached out to #Barcelona to replace Neymar: http://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbo...04/43318269440/mbappe-se-ofrece-al-barca.html
Maybe it's me but even if that is net, that seems pretty cheap for mbappe. I would expect the sale of Neymar and the desperation/cash windfall at Barca to be exploited by Monaco and mbappe's people to make this deal more expensive than real originally thought
Also didn't take long for dembele to get linked to Barca. Might seem crazy now but swapping out Neymar for dembele and a boatload of cash might not be a bad think for Barca. I think dembele is a more willing playmaker than Neymar and happier to just feed to two stars in Messi and Suarez. He will also be coming into his prime as they are actually fading which will make an easier transition. Even if Neymar stayed there was going to be friction on when he could and would become the face of Barca. If they can add dembele and then a stud midfielder (big if given the shitty transfers the current board have done) this might be looked at as a good move for everyone in a few years.
They were heavily linked even before the Neymar news. Pretty sure Dembele has said that Barcelona is his favorite club similarly to Mbappe with Real Madrid.
Yeah but those were just bullshit rumors based off of those quotes. I think there is a lot more substance now. Barca wanted dembele but he went to Dortmund because he wouldn't start at Barca. Same issue this summer. With Neymar gone he can start at Barca and I think he would be more amenable and make the transfer realistic
Like him a lot and wish he stayed but I get it with Aguero and Jesus ahead of him. Hope there's a buy back (rumored that there is)
iñigo martinez was left out of la real's squad against watford, so it looks like his move to barça is imminent
