Marca reporting that Mbappe will join PSG for 160m euros plus 20m euros in bonuses: http://www.marca.com/blogs/futbolitis/2017/08/10/mbappe-nuevo-jugador-del-psg.html
Why even try to institute FFP then? City and PSG just do whatever the fuck they want with absolutely zero repercussion.
Had they offered that + more a month ago he'd be gone. I still think he's worth £100 mil to LFC. If you watched the Asia Premier League games he was the main attraction for LFC. I'm in the same boat as the other LFC posters - the timing is wrong for LFC, we have the better position contract wise, probably can't find an equal replacement now, Klopp isn't interested in adding 4 or 5 guys that are squad level players with the money they'd get, need Phil for UCL and PL, etc. Plus fuck Barca (for this season at least). Edit: I'd also question which Phil would rather do - Barca this year or PSG next year to play with Neymar.
Personally, I'd rather watch Dembele and Mbappe playing at Dortmund and Monaco a little longer before going to Barca and PSG So in that sense I'd say the money has ruined my enjoyment a little. Especially since my rich owner doesn't spend any of his money :(
It's all weird. beIN which is based in Qatar (same as PSG) denied that PSG had an agreement with Mbappe. Then Marca the Madrid paper says they do a week after saying that an agreement had been reached with Real Madrid.
Sure that's a lot of money to turn down, but it's not like our finances are so dire that we would need that amount of cash to help balance the books or anything.
Oh they can fuck right off! #Barcelona willing to pay #Real Madrid Marco Asensio's release clause if they fail to sign Coutinho and Dembele: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...Transfer-News-Neymar-Ronaldo-Bale-La-Liga/amp
Al Khelaifi, PSG's president, is in Spain. Looking to finalize a deal for Oblak (100m euros release clause) and also negotiate the transfer of Meuiner to #Real Madrid https://futbol.as.com/futbol/2017/08/10/primera/1502375005_337236.html
I find it funny Barca was playing victims in the Neymar saga and like a week later they have Dembele pulling this shit.
The situations aren't really comparable. If we're letting governments fund transfers then no team in Spain has any control over any of their players and are at a huge disadvantage.
Your squad constantly raids Barca's youth pool looking for talent before they can sign professional contracts in Spain.
I'd love for Chelsea to grab him but without a chance to purchase doubt there will be much effort made to make it happen.
A few points: - He's already 27 years old. - He's coming off of a knee surgery in May. - If sold, Levy will ask a stupid sum of money. - Mourinho already has a talented and much younger LB in Luke Shaw, but they seem to have hard-ons for pissing eachother off.
Shaw isn't playing for Mou, and has shown little, if anything, since his leg break. Darmian and Blind at LB is embarrassing for a club of United's stature. And lol at money being an issue for y'all.
His release clause is that low? I am not sure the player would want to become a bitter enemy at Real Madrid but Barca should at least try. EDIT: answered 3 posts below yours so never mind. Only Messi/Ronaldo a bit younger are worth 350
What stops Barcelona from putting a €1 billion release clause on every contract they sign? Is there some sort of tax/cost to putting in a crazy release clause? Seems to me like they could just put insane clauses in and be in the same boat as every other country
I find it hilarious when fans of clubs that spend endless money find it necessary to worry about value in the transfer market.
Every player in england does it. VERY few if any real releases clauses in england. Most top players in germany and france dont have a release clause either. Is a player going to turn down a dream move to barcelona over as release clause? I could see some of the lesser clubs in spain having to stick to the status quo but not barca and real.
I think it will calm down for a week or 2 but the week before the deadline and up until the deadline I expect craziness.
It's still leverage for the player that other leagues aren't bound to, which would cost la liga teams a ton of money I'm sure in salary. Neymar's release clause was more than double the world record transfer and it was still met.
PSG is going to be fun to watch this season, that's for sure. And it shakes up the Champions League, which is good for the sport
