Roman eats the pin from Lesnar. Think they are going to head towards a Lesnar/Braun. Not sure if they'll save that for mania or not.
the Undertaker chants had me thinking the lights were gonna go out and Roman was getting a chokeslam, bummed it didn't happen now
No way they can keep Brock as a part time champ for a year Do it at survivor series and the rematch at mania
They would. Honestly I bet the plan hasn't changed at all. Braun vs Brock at Survivor Series, Brock retains, Roman wins at Mania.
They've been building for Brock v reigns at mania since the day after the last mania. "The 2 in 23-2" as Heyman put it.
Watched the PPV with my 10 and 6 year old nephews so it gives me a different perspective than normal. Braun is awesome is all I really need to say.
That 6 hours had 4 good/great matches. BK was there for Naka and yet Jinder. I'm guessing shareholders are really putting pressure on Network sub and this is a "hope he saves our ass and India subscribes" because Jinder is nothing but a Joe Bear.
It's the only thing that makes sense. Because Jinder is a nobody. He's unremarkable in the ring, not charismatic and just all around blah. Except for the look... he has nothing but happening to be of Indian descent.
Summerslam had some nice moments, but was really a display of the clusterfuck known as WWE writing/booking since WM. Titles changed hands that shouldn't of and the titles that really needed to didn't. They shoved the hottest thing at WM in a wasted pre-show match and also stuck the best match of the night on the pre-show. The performers really did what they could, mostly, to salvage bad booking.
And WWE is about to tour India, so no chance in hell Jinder was losing tonight. That's why I understood the result, but hated how they booked it.
Loved the main event. Would have liked if Braun won but they are 100% setting up Brock vs Braun 1 on 1 and they should because it's a cash cow. Brock sold and made Braun look like gold, Brock never even got anything in on Braun. You saw the reaction when the 2 were face to face. It's coming and Braun is going to be one of the most over Champs since Bryan. Can't wait. Roman eating the pin was icing on the cake.
Jinder retaining sucks, but it's to be expected with the tour of India coming up. Naka's winning that title before the year ends, AJ is winning the Rumble, and we're getting that dream match at Mania. On the Raw side, I'm nearly certain Roman gets the belt at Survivor Series or the Rumble (which is why he ate the pin tonight), leading to Roman vs Cena at Mania. Not my favorite match, but it is a dream match and I don't hate it. I think Brock and Braun are about to have a hoss feud for the ages, culminating in a big stipulation match at Mania. No idea where this leaves Joe, but they're high on him and I think he ends up in a good spot on the Mania card. So the main three programs leading into Mania: Styles v Nakamura Reigns v Cena Brock v Braun That's pretty nice, and more importantly, fresh matchups.
That all makes sense and I like those programs and none of it is going to happen because of course it won't so: Naka on the preshow Braun v big show Cena buries AJ Roman v Brock
Those matches look fresh but won't be by the time we make it to Mania. They will burn them at random shit PPVs or on RAW.
better bet for smackdown tomorrow. stub hub now or have there been a lot of cheap seats outside the arena in Brooklyn?
So I've come back around on thinking that Brock being champion while also being part time is a good thing. Makes the Universal Title matches more special and keeps the champ out of wrestling the same opponent 4 times in the month leading up to the ppv in non title matches
You need a happy medium. Brock on this Summer Slam build was fantastic. Showed up cut a promo, showed up and got into a fight, showed up and talked shit. He never wrestled... The World/Universal should only wrestle on PPV. Or a very rare TV. But you want to see the champion fight buy the network, but the ppv. UFC top guys don't fight on FS1 and Mayweather isn't fighting on Showtime for Free. WWE gives away everything... But when Brock isn't on a PPV like the 6 weeks from Mania thats horrible for business. You need the champ on TV. Just not wrestling non title matches where he loses.
Just give me a Joe and Balor feud again. Bray Wyatt needs to go away for a while and come back with a group again. Him being alone is the stalest thing on the roster.
I would take Bray off TV for some time... and return him with his family. I would also start to build his backstory... aka find a sister abigail. That Joe/Balor NXT feud was very meh to me. But i like main roster Joe much better than NXT Joe.
Yes, it solves many problems. Refreshes Wyatt, and gives something for Harper and Rowan to do. Also, let them be a tag team for once and really go after the straps. I liked the Balor/Joe feud but I am with you, main roster unhinged Joe with Balor will be a hell of a program.
The problem with Raw and Brock is that they have to fill 3 hours of programming and not having a world title scene on that show really puts them at a major disadvantage to filling that time. I don't mind the lack of title defenses on Raw, but he needs to be around making things interesting. Impossible to do that if you're in and out for awhile because of yoir contract. He needs to be a side show and not a year long big picture. The bigfest issue with WWE post mania is they've conpletely devalued both ME scenes.
