What makes you think Bale is moving next summer? He loves Madrid and Perez loves him. It could happen, but I don't think it close to the sure thing many are implying.
Pulisic is 18. He should stay at Dortmund until he can legally drink in America. Then he will probably be good enough that he can go to Real Madrid if he wants.
Yeah, I think leaving BVB is the worse thing he could do in terms of his growth and development over the next 2-3 years.
When we sell Coutinho this year or next there will be a nice sized hole in our lineup for a young, creative midfielder with unmatched potential marketing power in the US, and a manager who can develop players. Seems too good to be true (and probably is).
I always laugh at the stay the hell away from England crowd. Playing in England certaintly hindered Hazard, Sanchez, Coutinho, etc. If he develops to be as good as you think he will he'd be able to play a major role in any of the top leagues.
That doesn't mean his style doesn't fit other leagues better, and that in general, other leagues seem to do a better job at player development.
I always hear this but why? How are those clubs better fits than say Liverpool, with American owners and Klopps style? He's got an inch or two on Coutinho, probably weighs more and will fill out as he matures.
I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that pulisic moves next summer. What I said could be next summer or in 2-3 summers. I just don't think Liverpool is a big enough club for him to make a final move to, he loves the EPL and admitted he grew up a United fan. Don't want him to go to united next summer as an example, they get bale the following summer and then the great hope of our country is not a must start at his preferred position.
Dembele contract has a €400m release clause? Next summer PSG sell cavani and then make a move for Messi or trigger dembele's release clause?
personally I think pulisic would fit in well with klopp's system. I also think highly enough of pulisic's ability that i think in a year or 2 he will be able to pick any club. Liverpool have to win something to attract him. Clipping 4th isn't going to do it because I am sure Chelsea, united and city would all be interested.
Dembele's barca contract is said to have a €400m release clause. The PSG v Barca war doesn't seem to be over so I am speculating what move PSG could make next summer.
One problem Liverpool may have is players that see their club as a stepping stone to Madrid, Barca, etc, may not be so inclined to go there when they are refusing to even consider selling Coutinho for so much money when the guy is begging to leave. I want an American playing in and winning a CL trophy. The chances of him doing that at Liverpool aren't that great.
He's 18 years old and nowhere close to being physically mature for one. Those two leagues will give him a better opportunity to continue to grow and develop skills wise while filling out physically. If he were 23, I'd have a different opinion.
Yeah, I'd rather him stay in a league where he can continue to hone his technicality and his maturing physique is less of an issue
Guys it's pretty apparent he's the heir apparent to Messi in a couple years so everyone else just back the fuck off.
no epl teams, no qsg, no bayern pulisic's next step, should he choose and if he's good enough, is barca or real imo wouldn't have any problems with him staying at bvb his entire career either tbh
I hope Pulisic has the kind of year this season that puts him in the class of clubs who are CL mainstays, not Liverpool.
how does the nationality of the ownership impact his development? Beyond the style of play in the EPL, which can be debated, the English clubs aren't as strong developing as other leagues. Its the biggest league in the world, big clubs are looking for instant production, there is no patience shown, and they will suffocate a kid's development to win
Assuming he continues to develop, I don't think it's that crazy to say it could happen in 4-5 years.... By then he'd be 22-23 and been a mainstay in Dortmund's squad for the same amount of time. Dembele went to Barca after playing regularly for one season....
Players have to want to leave if they get bought out. I can't see Dembele wanting to go to PSG when he a. Could have joined them last year b. Has stated Barca is his dream club.
Dembele was lights out for Rennes the year before and I believe Barca wanted him then too. With Pulisic, and any promising under 20 attacking player who's produced, they could one day be coveted by Barca/Real but in reality there's not that many attacking spots to go around and players don't always follow a consistent upward career trajectory so the odds are still low (and there's nothing wrong with that).
Wonder what happens with Coutinho if Barca sign Seri. I don't see them signing both, and it sounds like the relationship between 'Pool and Coutinho is none too good. Barca interest will have effectively ruined that dynamic.
I agree 100%. I was more just saying that in that time frame I used, there's no reason to think that he couldn't play for one of two Spanish giants, and compared Dembele's one year of playing with Dortmund before a big move. And I knew he did well at Rennes, I was just using the year at Dortmund as they both played there and are similar in age.
I'm genuinely curious to see what kind of premium Pulisic brings in because he is an American. just from a marketing standpoint I wonder how much it matters to the big clubs if they can get a guy who could be the first great American player in a time when the sport is exploding in the States.
I'm just speculating but for the mega clubs like the top EPL, Bayern, Barca, Real etc. they get so many fans from across the world that I can't see it being too large of a factor.
