Hope it’s all good if I make another thread. I was wanting to have a place for people buying on PC to discuss. Has anyone purchased for PC yet?
Just pre-purchased and downloading the beta. fsck#1768 I haven't read anything from the other thread or really have any idea about this game, but fomo you know.
It looks fantastic in HDR, too. Looks like I'll be going double with ps4. Really wish they would do cross play or shared characters.
so uhh how the fuck do i get this beta without pre ordering? i don't see an option in the battle net app
Late now but you enter the preorder code into some other battlenet page and it gives you a second code lol. Not very intuitive. Anyway sucks this comes out right when football season starts, I'm flying to Texas tomorrow morning for the UF/Michigan game.
just finished the intro scenario. picked warlock on a whim. that was pretty fun. i kind of wish there had been a little bit of explanation about the weapons and abilities for people who hadn't played before but it's no biggie. gameplay was smooth and runs really well on my relatively modest machine at 1080p (4th generation i5 and r9 290x).
Jumping puzzles are very much a thing especially come raid time. Trust me tho, if I can get past them, so can you.
When does the actual game come out? I'll be down to play for sure. We can do some raids if we have enough.
overall it was cool. the 3-man dungeon thing was pretty fun (when my teammates weren't sprinting ahead and leaving me behind). pvp seems unbalanced and random.
I was the only person who wasn't a hunter in pvp and got my ass kicked. Pvp not that good, pve is fun
part of the pvp thing was that the weapons that randomly drop for you can be insanely strong compared to the default stuff. the energy pistols for the hunter and warlock just destroy people. i didn't play the other class but it seems to be capable of getting some kind of shotgun that can 1 shot people. i honestly can't tell if crouching or aiming down the sights improves your accuracy or range in pvp, which i don't like
Crouching doesnt, aiming does. As far as the beta goes, thers about 10 different weapons so after a few matches of pvp everyone should have every weapon. But a big part of Destiny pvp has always been having the meta weapons which you only get from playing a lot of the game. Destiny is a co-op loot grind with incredible gameplay and a little raiding and some pvp. Pvp actually feels a lot better this time around, you just need to accept you have to have the right weapons or you're at a disadvantage. And generally those weapons are plentiful (95%) or high end comp pvp rewards (5%). But at the end of the day most who played Destiny were there for pve. Same rules apply though, gotta have the right weapons which are usually different than the right ones in pvp.
Just trying to be totally transparent of what destiny is and how it works for the half of the pc crowd who literally have no idea. It absolutely floors me that pc gamers can legit be so unaware of what happens on console.
Eh. Destiny to me is a worse version of Borderlands with the added advantage of raiding and PVP. I played it on console. It was a good time.
When you shoot and move around and stuff it feels smoother than that of borderlands. Physics related stuff mostly. To me that is the biggest difference in the two games. Destiny is call of duty smooth while borderlands is more like something you would find in a story based fps like bioshock, although not as terrible.
The actual rpgness of the borderlands classes is def better although destiny is taking small steps forward there.
Gotcha. Are you comparing Borderlands console to Destiny console? PC Borderlands is super smooth and game physics are perfect. I need to play Destiny on PC to officially comment. I can def see you point console to console.
probably as much as i have destiny on pc. pc probably improves actually gunplay but i don't see it doing much with movement physics. i love the jumping puzzles and triple jumps and jet packs that borderlands just doesn't have.
I do, but I'm not scouring it to keep up on all the gaming news and experiences across all platforms.
I agree that the gunplay in Destiny is much better but the gunplay in borderlands (once skills progress because even shooting has rpg elements) is not bad at all. Destiny is just that good
I'm totally on board with Blizzard didn't want Destiny 2 out on PC this month because of patch 7.3 in WoW. I wonder if they were scared it would take players away? Just a stupid theory...
You might be right. They have always protected WoW. It'll be CSGO and Dota2 for me the next 49 days while I wait. I want to watch twitch to get a leg up on characters and classes and such but don't want to be spoiled.
