Loan. Not sure how to feel...hopefully a fresh start is what he needs though. Makes me wonder about Wanyama's knee, too.

See the post above. Livid was smart enough to get involved so we would have to pay absolute top dollar for Lemar if we get him. I doubt it happens but if it did it's smart shit like that plays on our weakness. That weakness is Wenger. We collectively hate him as much as Spurs fans hate Arsenal at this point. Long story short, we're not even in the top 4 conversation this year.
My best guess is that Arsenal is just stalling on sending off Alexis until Lemar or some other top tier replacement is secured. Not sure how Monaco can turn down 92m, so the dominos shall fall shortly. It's still hard for me, given the consistency under Wenger for decades, to accept (joyfully, mind you) that Arsenal is really falling off that badly.
Monaco can turn down 92m because they're probably not interested in selling their whole fucking team in one window.
Maybe, maybe not. They seem to have at least a strategy around navigating the market now. We were trying to get Lemar by offering one million dollar incremental teasers at literally a third of his price about a month or two ago.
They did bring in Tielemans, Keita Balde, and Jovetic so far, but yes, have sent out Mendy, Silva, and Bakayoko. Not sure who else they'd be targeting incoming though with that amount of money in, they're already +75m euros according to transfermarkt.
Fabinho is on and off, isn't it? If this exodus really occurs, I just wish Monaco was in Spurs' CL Group this year rather than last year.
Alexis is staying at #Arsenal That is the message from the club and it would now be a shock if there were to be any late turns to this infernal saga (it takes a toll, you know!). Manchester City came in earlier today with a second offer for the Chile striker – of £55m, plus £5m in add-ons – but it has come down to Arsenal being able to sign a new attacking player. Quite simply, they look to have run out of time on that front. They wanted Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and the French club demanded that they pay 100m euros for him. Which Arsenal indicated they were willing to do. But there appears to be insufficient time for Arsenal to now agree a package with Lemar, particularly as he is in the France squad for this evening’s game against Holland – which kicks off in about three hours. Were Arsenal able to get Lemar, they would have been inclined to take the £60m from City for Sanchez. But it is unlikely to happen now. (The Guardian)
This is crazy, now reports that the Arsenal bid was accepted by Monaco but Lemar is waiting in case another team shows up
There are those among the xenophobic "we created football so we know it best segment" of the English that fetishtize traditional numbering
Mauricio Pochettino's intervention appears to have been crucial. Andre Gomes is now on his way to Tottenham. West Ham believe they have lost the Portugal international. (Dominic King, The Mail)
Remember when you used to wank it to the lingerie section of the Montgomery Ward catalog? The bodies were headless but doesn't matter, had handsex.
