Your friend must be a good fucking chef. Been to little bird, need to get to la pigeon. Birthday is in a few months, think that will be the time.
This shit sucks. Told so many Nebraska people coming in for the game to skip the extra day in Eugene because the Gorge is one of the most beautiful places in the entire world. Ban all the fucking fireworks, I've only been here 5 years but I love the beauty of this state for what it is and not some contrived 3 second bullshit firework.
I walked up and touched a water-fall (one that requires no hiking, short walk from parking lot). not sure if that was allowed but that scene is so unique to a Floridian, I had to get in there.
i'm so on board with this. fireworks are overrated as hell, anyways. i wonder if they'll release the identify of the kids who did this.
It's already been announced that they're not planning to prosecute the teenagers for the fireworks. wtf.
Actually not all that surprised. Oregon's a great state but there's a lot of fucktards in power here.
where did you see that? all i've read is that they have the suspects, they've been detained, but haven't been charged.
God fucking damnit this pisses me off so much. Those little twats need their lives ruined for this. Fuck being PC.
I'll read through this thread in its entirety later, but I'm in the way early stages of planning a trip for next summer. I don't wanna stay in a Holiday Inn or some shit. Would rather stay somewhere cool but not ungodly expensive. I know nothing about Portland except that I've heard good things and my girlfriend really wants to go there.
Spent a few nights in Portland in Aug, and did an airbnb near Dundee that was great. Seemed like a lot of good options in that regard.
I guess it depends on what your definition of ungodly expensive, but if you check regularly you should be able to get a decent deal at The Nines.
I'm not joking. All the cheap hotels near there are fine. Central spot to uber to all the areas. Obviously much cooler/unique spots around, but I guess it depends on how much you want save for dinners/bars.
Oh I just assumed you were kidding ha. Want to go somewhere decent since I'll have my girlfriend with me, but I am in the way early stages of this whole process.
I am going to be in Portland next week and going down to Wilmette Valley on Saturday. Can you Uber/Lyft from spot to spot down there or do you need a car service. Car Service is $65 an hour, so Uber would be much cheaper, because it will be 9 or 10 hours. Not sure you can get a Uber in places like Yamhill, Dayton and Newberg. App says no cars available, but it is 7:30 on Tuesday. All these are no more than 1 hour from Portland, so might be possible, but I don't know.
There isn't uber in some of the Portland suburbs, so I highly doubt there is uber in any of those places you mentioned.
I think I can go from Portland to Yamhill and Newberg back to Portland, but Yamhill to Dayton and Dayton to Newberg look pretty dicey. It is definitely out there, but just looking for ways to avoid paying a driving to sit around for hours at $65 an hour. Might be unavoidable. Might be able to let the driver go in Newberg and get back from there it is only like 20 miles and dinner will be at least 2 hours. Going to email the restaurant, which is also a hotel and inquire on transport options.
If you don't mind driving yourself this service is great. Charges by the minute, but maxes out at $80 per day. Easier than renting a car and you don't pay for gas or insurance. https://reachnow.com/en/portland-or/drive/#pricing
Didn't realize we had a Portland thread. Mrs. Block and I have been here since the beginning of June and absolutely love it. Living up in the NW hills while we get our footing and figure out where we would like to be longer term.
Headed to Portland on Friday for the weekend for the first time before going to Stevenson, WA for a conference for the rest of the week. Staying downtown at the Portland Hilton, what are the can't miss spots for a quick weekend tour?
