Have the afternoon off and will finish the series in the next few hours. I've really enjoyed 6B so far, and shit is about to go down b/w Tony and Phil. Cheers.
Doing a rewatch and the look Tony gives Cusamano when the other guys start asking Tony about the mafia is great, I'd be scared shitless
I fucking love this episode. When he gives that box full of sand to Cusamano later and asks him to hang onto it for him... it's fucking hilarious.
Watching for I think the 4th time through. Silvio at the Executive game is fucking classic. "I put provolone in my socks every night so they smell like your sisters cunt"
One of my favorite things is how they make all these guys subtly dumb as fuck. I'm watching Pine Barrens and Jackie Jr just played "ass" in Scrabble.
Favorite season for everybody? Mine's season 2. I think, it's been awhile. But if that's when Richie Aprile shows up that's that best season for my money. I've been wanting to rewatch this and The Shield #glorydays This is the show that started the golden age of television that we enjoy today. Networks didn't realize the size of the market for quality, adult TV until this show broke the doors down imo gbr.
I like how they also thought he could be a doctor because he knew that Ottowa is the capital of Canada. I don't know the exact line but when he's telling Meadow that he dropped out he's like "organic chemistry, micro biology, ribosomes or some shit." Cracks me up
just finished it a few weeks ago. what a masterpiece. If HBO made a series about Junior and Johnny Boy doing mob shit in the 60's id watch the hell out of it.
I'm beginning to think the Reverend Rodney King Jr was right when he said, "why can't we all just get along."
Doing a rewatch and currently on the last episode that Livia is in. Can't believe how rough the splicing of older episodes of her into this one is, no idea how I didn't notice the first time
Junior was great the first few seasons. Great show, better on rewatch when you can knock out the show episodes rather than having to wait a week for three in a row.
Frank Vincent, who played Phil Leotardo died at age 78 during open heart surgery last week in a New Jersey hospital.
Raging bull, casino, goodfellas, Gotti; man played the gangster role as well as you can. Phil Leotardo getting his head ran over was quite enjoyable though.
Bobby: “ Ma hasn’t been the same since 9/11. You know, Quasimodo predicted all of this.” Tony: “What? Nostradamus. That’s the hunchback of Notre Dame.” Bobby: “Oh yea. . . There’s also the halfback and quarterback of Notre Dame. You ever think about that?”
EXCLUSIVE: David Chase is finally ready to return to the New Jersey turf of his iconic creation The Sopranos. New Line has purchased the screenplay The Many Saints of Newark, the working title for a feature prequel of The Sopranos that is set in the era of the Newark riots in the 60s. That was a time when the African-Americans and the Italians of Newark were at each other’s throats, and amongst the gangsters of each group, those conflicts became especially lethal. The script was written by Chase and Lawrence Konner, the prolific screen and television writer whose credits include The Sopranos Some of the beloved characters from the series will appear in the film. I couldn’t get any more information about the plot, but the time period indicates there will be room for Tony Soprano’s father, Giovanni “Johnny Boy,” the former captain of the Soprano crew (played in flashbacks by Joseph Siravo), and a younger version of his wife Livia (played indelibly in the show’s first season by Nancy Marchand), and Tony’s uncle Junior, played by Chianese. Chase will serve as producer as well as co-writer, and he will be involved in selecting a director.
Tony in the hospital after being shot by junior Meadow: the main thing, when people come to sit with dad, the doctors want positive talk. It helps with his recovery. Paulie: Got it :enter room: Oof! Maron! He looks terrible!
Who’s your most hated character? I mean this in terms of rivalry/pushback/whatever to Tony. So like Richie Aprile, Ralph, Phil Leotardo, late season, crotchety Johnny Sack, season one Junior, etc. I think I gotta go Richie although Phil is up there. Paulie is the goat character btw.
Richie for me but Livia Soprano is right there. As much as I hated Ralph he brought too many laughs to hate more than a lot of other characters. Paulie is definitely the best/funniest character.
Phil Leotardo for sure. His head gettingnpopped by the car was so satisfying my first time through and still is every time.
Richie and early Junior are strong candidates but the correct answer is Phil and it’s not even close. He had more power than any of the others, nobody else was even remotely close to the same level of threat to Tony
Guys guys guys... these are all great candidates but y'all are forgetting about the worst of all time cunt... Janice. She is and always will be my most hated character on the sopranos.
I didn’t include Janice because she never really conspired against Tony (with the exception of maybe listening to Richie’s rantings), and the aforementioned characters were at least entertaining. Now, if we’re talking overall worst characters that simply suck ass, Janice is tied for first with AJ “the original failson” Soprano. Honorable mention goes to Meadow’s freshman roommate.
you would think after all these years hbo would have someone fix the livia cgi in the episode where she dies though i suppose it is charming in its terribleness
