i listened on the radio so i couldnt really understand anything, but it sounds like the defense played better than expected (bar obviously set low), despite rivers completng every single pass. is that right? also sounded like o-line played pretty well.
DL was terrific, Dont know what the hell is up with Timmons. Secondary is just more of the same Did Julius Thomas catch a pass? Happy to be 1-0, our Wr's will win us a lot of ballgames
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...nebacker-lawrence-timmons-meet-doctors-monday The Dolphins are unsure what the issue is with Timmons, but one league source said he does not believe it is the early onset of CTE. "No one has ever seen anything like it," one source said. Update: ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Timmons is “doing much better” and “wants to resume playing immediately.”
Timmons reportedly was flying back to Pennsylvania According to a report by TMZsports.com, the Dolphins filed a missing persons report on Lawrence Timmons. Bob Ferrante (Photo: Joel Auerbach / Contributor, Getty) The weird story of Lawrence Timmons' disappearance this weekend has gotten even weirder. TMZsports.com reported that the Miami Dolphins filed a missing persons report after they were concerned that he was not in the team's Los Angeles hotel on Saturday night and after family and friends did not know about his whereabouts. The former Florida State star was at LAX, waiting on a flight to Pennsylvania, according to TMZ. TMZ's report, in part: The good news ... cops found Timmons at LAX early Sunday morning in a boarding area in an effort to get to Pennsylvania. A team rep met Timmons at the airport and left with him. So, why Pennsylvania? We're told Timmons had spoken with his baby mama who lives there and had told her he missed the baby and wanted to visit. He was serious about visiting her. Timmons played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2007-16. He signed as a free agent this offseason with the Dolphins. Timmons did not play in the Dolphins' game on Sunday against the Chargers and team officials have said very little about the linebacker in the past few days.
I'd say because this AWOL is evidence he's mentally unwell and needs to focus on that more than football, but now seeing we'd have 11m in dead money let's try to make it work.
Just because you cut someone doesn't mean you stop supporting them Ross seems to be more supportive of players than your average owner
Not saying we should throw the guy to the curb, but someone who leaves the team 24 hours before a game and doesn't tell anyone where he's going shouldn't be playing football.
we would have to clear 3 million just to cut him. He isn't going to be cut no matter what at this point
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/19/dolphins-suspend-lawrence-timmons-indefinitely/ Dolphins suspend Lawrence Timmons indefinitely Posted by Mike Florio on September 19, 2017, 4:17 PM EDT AP The Miami Dolphins have made a decision regarding linebacker Lawrence Timmons. And it’s an aggressive one. The Dolphins have announced that Timmons has been suspended indefinitely. As a practical matter, the Dolphins definitely can suspend Timmons for up to four weeks without pay. He’ll lose $58,823 per week (based on a $1 million annual salary), and he’ll potentially be required to refund 4/17th of the 2017 allocation of $5.5 million signing bonus ($647,000). The most also wipes out the remaining guarantees in his contract (he had $11 million fully guaranteed at signing), allowing the team to cut him with no further financial obligation. While the Dolphins have remained mum about Timmons’ decision to go AWOL while the team was in L.A., they clearly don’t like either what he did or how he handled it, apparently disappearing without telling the team that he’d be leaving. Now, he’ll be leaving for up to four weeks — and maybe for good.
can you blame him? starting LB disappears the night before game 1 and his excuse is that he wanted to see his kid? I know this is prob some sort of CTE, post concussion syndrome thing, but gase still has every right to be furious
i know his brain is turned into mush from playing this violent sport for 20 years, but his boss has to be furious!
yes. as fans we should be sensitive to what is likely a brain injury issue, but regardless of brain injury or not, he is being paid 6 million dollars for 16 sundays this year. if he is having an issue he has an obligation to let his employer know and then its on the dolphins to handle it in the proper manner. He went AWOL and didn't tell anyone. Whether he has a legit medical issue or not, that's unacceptable.
don't disagree, but to acknowledge his potential disease and then wave it off in the same sentence is problematic
i didn't waive it off. He's got a duty to the organization to communicate with them. He did none of that. I don't blame the organization for their reaction in the slightest.
I just don't see any other way how the organization was supposed to handle this. You can't just bring him back into the team and act like nothing happened and you can't just immediately put him in some sort of program while also paying him his full salary.
Why do you think this is related to CTE? Just because his behavior didn't make sense and he's played alot of football? I remember reading somebody saying it specifically wasn't related to CTE, doesn't that was true either. I just think we dont know.
yes. When a player who unless I am forgetting something has never had an off the field issue all of a sudden goes AWOL because he "wanted to see his kid", my first guess is that he's having some sort of concussion related issue.
Or his baby mom could of made him snap, people do have mental breakdowns. How many concussions has he had in the past? I honestly don't know.
