I could buy the not getting up for it for looking bad for one game. They've looked bad in all 3 so far.
They didn't look bad against CSU or UNC. UNC would have been a drastically different game had it not been for some very minor mistakes and the bullshit targeting call on Fo. Montez hits that intercepted pass 95% of the time, that would have been 7 more points and I think a 35-7 lead at half. Targeting on Fo resulted in 7 more since that occurred on 3rd down. Adkins fumble resulted in a loss of 7 likely points and pre sure UNC scored on the drive following the turnover. Worthington ran into Oliver on one of the TDs and I think it was Fo who took the shallow guy and not the deep guy in cover 1. All pretty minor stuff.
They looked good for 1 quarter against CSU. You can nitpick plays or calls that didn't go our way, but are you willing to take off your black and gold glasses and do the same for the ones that went in our favor? Only the biggest homer would say we didn't get very lucky with those PI calls against CSU. How about that ridiculously lucky fumble punt return for a TD against Texas St? A drastically different game if not for some minor mistakes? C'mon man. We're talking about a non-NDSU FCS team here. That game should have been over by halftime "minor mistakes" or not. This team has a lot to work on. I don't think it will be a repeat of the P12CG, but there's a reason UW is an 11 point favorite on the road.
The calls weren't questionable, every single OPI that was called the WR extended his arm(s) and the DB fell down, that will be called every single time given that's what officials look for. Arm extension + falling DB = OPI everytime. If Montez doesn't throw the pick and hits the throw like he would almost every other attempt given there was a clear window, he released too early and it caused the ball to sail. If that's completed it's another 7 points and UNC never scores that TD if Fo doesn't get screwed by the refs for hitting a WR that was significantly shorter than him. The numbers against UNC are fine, UNC averaged 2.3 YPC on the ground, 5.5 through the air and the offense averaged 5.4 YPC and 8.7 YPA through the air. Like I said, three plays really made that game appear closer than it was. Do you really think Fo or Worthington blow that coverage the vast majority of the time? I don't. Do you see Montez missing a wide open Ross with no defenders in the throwing lane the majority of the time? I don't. There's also a reason why Adkins doesn't get many carries, #23 rarely fumbles the ball nor does he leave it out like a pie on a ledge like Adkins did there. They'll be fine. They aren't going to come out flat against Pac 12 teams and there are some bad Pac 12 teams and we get two of them on the road. UW also hasn't been without their struggles, but since we focus so much more on CU we are hypercritical of everything CU and don't look too much at the other team.
Bed shitting activated.... My remote control called and reported me for domestic violence after that fucking blocked punt
Fuck Fuck Fuck, Fuck Fuck Fuck... Faa Faa Fuck Faa Fuck, great goddamn show you pompous cunts...Lay on down now like 2$ whores and let them hang 50 on us...
Montez has been so incredibly disappointing this year. Weather sucked but Jesus Christ he has been horrible. Will throw in the WR being extremely overrated.
Probably didn't follow the guidelines set by the coaches to come back and something tells me that this isn't the first incident he's had with how MacIntyre handled previous suspensions (Kafovalu, Tupuo, Falo, etc.)
In the 14 years since I started at CU, few games have left me this frustrated. I’m not going to get that fake FG out of my head all week.
I like CU so I am not talking shit but what about going for it on 4th the other times that lead to points. Should you guys have just punted?
I feel they put themselves into a position to have to go for it, due to faking a field goal and dropping two passes in the end zone.
I am not all that pissed about the FG -- Looks silly in retrospect, but we are talking three points. I seemed like we had plenty of chances to add more and shit those away in impressive fashion. Bobo had a couple rough plays to costs us touchdowns, Shay and Ross did little to nothing, the OC play calls were suspect as always, and our o-line continues to under-perform. Only issue I really have with the defense if the lack of talent on the D-line, which is nothing new -- Can't generate a pass rush without bringing extra, and without bigger bodies we seemed to get pushed around. But, as always, they were the better unit.
The series that I wanted to put my head through a wall was in the 3rd quarter. Their D was absolutely gassed, and we decided to throw the ball 3 times, and punted the ball right back to them. Mind. Numbing.
The lack of a pass rush is the biggest issue I can see right now. Last week Washington got the ball rolling thanks to Browning having 5+ seconds to throw the ball every play. There are bright spots on offense but this team can't find a way to avoid fucking themselves anytime they do something positive, it is unreal.
Yes - - this exactly. Could not have been less effective if they tried, right after steamrolling their D the series before.
The fuck is your point with this post? Couldn't even stay up for the whole game. Execution lost the game, but you were asleep.
