Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, others come forward. Harvey Weinstein accused of sexual harassment in explosive story, takes leave of absence By Stephanie Merry October 5, 2017 at 5:28 PM Spoiler An explosive New York Times storyThursday aired allegations of sexual harassment against the famed movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who told the publication he would take a leave of absence from his studio, the Weinstein Company. The Times story is remarkable not just because it uncovered that Weinstein reached at least eight settlements with women over the years, but also because a very high-profile figure — Ashley Judd — went on record. Her story dates back to the 1990s, when, she said, Weinstein lured her to his hotel room for a “meeting,” then tried to coerce her into giving him a massage or watching him shower. “Women have been talking about Harvey amongst ourselves for a long time, and it’s simply beyond time to have the conversation publicly,” Judd told the Times. Weinstein’s lawyer, Charles Harder, said the movie producer plans to sue the newspaper, telling the Hollywood Reporter that the Times story is riddled with inaccuracies. “It relies on mostly hearsay accounts and a faulty report, apparently stolen from an employee personnel file, which has been debunked by nine different eyewitnesses,” Harder told THR in an email. “We sent the Times the facts and evidence, but they ignored it and rushed to publish. We are preparing the lawsuit now. All proceeds will be donated to women’s organizations.” A call to Harder’s law office was not immediately returned, nor was a request for comment from the Times. This response is somewhat at odds with Weinstein’s own statement to the Times, which was at least partially contrite. “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it,” Weinstein told the Times. “Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go. That is my commitment. My journey now will be to learn about myself and conquer my demons.” He also said his issues stemmed, in part, from the fact that he “came of age in the ’60s and ’70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then.” Another lawyer advising him, Lisa Bloom, was quoted in the Times as saying that Weinstein “denies many of the accusations as patently false,” which gave some readers of the story pause, because it avoided refuting all of the claims. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...nt-in-explosive-story-takes-leave-of-absence/
The fuck. Fat dude wants 20 something Ashley Judd to watch him shower Weinstein lured her to his hotel room for a “meeting,” then tried to coerce her into giving him a massage or watching him shower.
Worst kept secret in Hollywood. Blake Lively was always rumored as one that got her start on his casting couch.
Lisa Bloom, who is Gloria Allred's daughter, and one of Weinstein's lawyers, defended many of the women who accused Bill O'Reilly. She had this to say in that situation, "This is what happens when women speak our truth: we can slay dragons,” she said in a statement to Variety. “I am very proud to have stood with my brave clients who stood up for themselves and all the silenced women." Does she think the women accusing Weinstein are liars?
I assumed every movie producer got into the business to bang hot 19 year olds they'd otherwise never have a shot with.
Wasn’t there a thread about an underground Hollywood sex ring with minors and shit? I always assumed he was involved in that.
Any creep can watch a girl shower, its a power move to make you stand there and scrub your wrinkly old balls
My buddy worked for him in NYC. He really hated Harvey and had the absolute worst things to say about him.
Hollywood decision makers have been preying on good looking people with dreams of being a star since the beginning. Doesn't make it right of course
This is about 5th-hand knowledge compared to this, but apparently the character obviously modeled after him in Entourage was pretty accurate, or at least accurate enough for Weinstein to confront people who worked on Entourage about it
Are those Fappening pics of her related to that? I thought they were sexual encounters of her and movie execs?
Yes supposedly several. Glad someone else remembered that I was thinking maybe I made it up in my head
I never really like to engage my buddy about the job given that it almost ruined his life bc it sucked in general and Harvey created the worst possible atmosphere possible which lead to lots of people quitting and stress like i've never seen. That said, he did mention that the Entourage thing wasn't far off. My friend did always say that he had it better than girls in the office :-|
Yeah Harvey was a little aggressive with ladies from what I saw. But Ashley Judd is not pleasant to hang out with. Blake Lively was awesome though. Also Harvey's lawyer Charles Hader somehow has a ridiculously long drive. And Lisa Bloom has a lovely family.
Pretty sure this was discussed in the book Waiter to the Rich and Shameless. I never watch E! and have never opened an US Weekly, but I really enjoyed that book, fwiw. Recommended read/listen.
Weinstein had nothing to do with Winter's Bone, but the Weinstein Company did distribute Silver Linings Playbook.
Brad Pitt was going to fuck him up apparently... https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/10/us/gwyneth-paltrow-angelina-jolie-harvey-weinstein.html
