Sens are good, but watch Karlsson come back next week and we lose the next 3 because thats how sports works
Canucks are who we thought were! And there was no hook to let them off of! Things should get interesting in regards to cap space and the sedins presumably not being extended
You will get used to it, this team is only going to go down for the next 3-5years. The prospect pool is empty, I have no idea why Timmins still has a job
They’ve always been a team that could identify and draft talent. Their pro development sucks and they trade guys before they know what they have.
I don’t know how to read this team. They look like they have a better grasp of the system that Boucher put in place. Good thing is they’ve banked points when most thought they would be hurting without 65. And unless Turris comes off his demand for max length on his contract demands he will be dealt. Don’t like a potential Duchene move as it puts the Sens in a bad spot with him next July 1.
Not sure how you can defend that opinion, their last few drafts have been pretty bad. I understand the development part, they suck at it but the guys they pick also look bad before they get in the organisation...drafting fucale in the second round is as stupid as it gets. I am not getting paid to do this and I could’ve told them that it was a wasted pick, just look at what nashville is doing. Nash got Samuel Girard and Frédéric Allard, two guys that will play in the nhl and be very good. I know this, knew it before they were drafted in the second round and later..how can the mtl canadiens scouts not know about the best players in the q or anywhere? And draft useless players like fucale and mccarron?
It is the worst position to be in as a mtl fan, this team is ok. Probably will make the playoffs but they have no shot at winning it all and the future looks like shit, can’t even have hope until they start to really suck
Nobody has a perfect track record and yea you’re right Fucale was always a guy who looked the part but didn’t actually perform. Always been a kid who plays on good teams and has had coaches who favoured him. McCarron is an example of their pro development shitting the bed.
Mccarron looked lost in London, he looks like a good hockey player but can’t do anything special. I understand that you will hit and miss but all they do is draft guys who could play on the 3rd and 4th line. I am not one to scream for more French guys in mtl but how can you whif on every single player coming out of the q? Bergeron, Giroux, vlasic, brassard, kucherov, Pominville, vermette, letang and last but not least jean motherfucking Gabriel Pageau. :) Seriously they are right in your backyard and you whif on them all the time? Makes no sense to me
And about fucale, he was just a guy who had every opportunity. Rich kid, not anything special as far as his talent but he had all the teaching and ice time you could ever want. I will give him credit for being mentally strong, but he is not an nhl goalie. And if the scouts had done their job and go around rinks and talk to people they would’ve known that. That’s inexcusable to me, it’s a fucking second round pick...I would not even mention it if they drafted him in the 5th round.
No, we have a bunch of dmen on one way contracts. Think we will move Wideman soon. If Claesson and Wideman keep playing the way they’re playing I’m fine with this but if either go down Chabot needs to come right back
Chabot needs minutes. It’s good that in a few games he got sheltered minutes and played well. Let him skate in Belleville for a month and play in all situations. No harm in that. Sens D with EK will be fine
I agree but when you give guys like Boro one-ways you get in trouble when this happens. I’d rather have Oduya as insurance than gamble on a rookie (although hindsight is 20/20)
He will be back soon enough. I think after Lazar hey will be a bit more hesitant on putting kids in. Colin White will be back in a few weeks and even tho the Sens have no depth up front they still need to send him to the A.
Boro is a 5-7 D. Would you rather give Chabot 10-12 in the nhl or 20 minutes in all situations in the A? It’s more a short term thing than long term. Plus Boro fights. Look at last night. Lucic slashes Condon on the glove after he has the puck and the whistle goes. Boro goes him. Sens get the jump they need on the road. Not like anyone else can really drop the mitts.
