They should do like the original movie did and make the whole opening song be the first official trailer.
Cumberbitch would do well as Scar. He was a good Richard III and Scar is a blatant ripoff of that character by some playwright named Bill Shakespeare who I was introduced to by LFO.
for everything this movie has done right Guy Ritchie's live action remake has done wrong They fucking casted WILL FUCKING SMITH as fucking Genie my day has been ruined even though they did hire known Pink Ranger Naomi Scott as Jasmine, which is decent
I don't mind it. Tells me that the genie role is going to be a bit different this time around which makes sense. Trying to recreate the robin Williams version without him Is an impossible task
He's not actually acting though. He's voice acting genie. Assuming the intention is for him to be a "fresh prince" type genie, it could be amazing.
Scar is probably more influenced by Claudius than Richard III, especially since the whole movie is loosely similar to Hamlet.
Big news everybody. Ron Magill of Zoo Miami has confirmed on the Dan le Bebatard show that it isn’t at all feasible to believe that Simba could’ve grown into a full sized, alpha male lion simply by eating insects. So, we can finally put that to rest.
I'm obviously jilted bc I love the original and I dislike Hollywood's obsession with recycling things that were so good before. THAT BEING SAID--that cast is unreal. Favreau did a great job with Jungle Book and didn't tarnish the original. If he can do something similar here I can see loving both the original and this. I'm in for the theatre.
Yeah, I'm certainly no Rogan fan but I don't look at him being cast as Pumba as a negative at all. Seems a solid fit to me
Beyonce is the weak link but luckily Nala doesnt have very many lines so hopefully it isnt noticeable
we don't know how many lines she will have. remember, this isn't a shot for shot remake. Also, they changed the names of 2 of the hyenas
To be fair, the Jungle Book was in the 1960s. Better reference would be Beauty and the Beast, which came out in the 1991or so.
I was really hoping they’d bring back Jeremy Irons as Scar but if you’re going to recast I think Ejiofor will do a hell of a job.
I like him fine. But when I hear his laugh from a cartoon character I am going to associate it with the Mantis from Kung Fu Panda.
So they say live action but what does that mean in this case? In Jungle Book every character outside the humans were CGI so this whole thing is one big CGI movie?
Right, it's more like they're using computers to simulate realistically designed animals and environments. Which...is what the original did with hand drawn animation. It's weird, they don't know what to call it.
also 33. first movie i actually remember going to see in a theater. saturday morning with dad and both brothers. not sure if it was my first time seeing a movie in a theater but definitely the first one I can remember. Also the Rogan hate is fucking lame as always. it's a disney movie not fucking martin scorsese
It's an amalgamation of both Hamlet and Richard III. The plot is definitely more Hamlet heavy but the character of Scar is more Richard than Claudius. It's funny because the truth about Richard and what he did sounds like it could be a midevil episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
