"You've got to suck this dick, if you want to be the guy who gets hit by that car." "What a terrible trade-off."
Never would have imagined that Lars Von Trier would give off a misogynistic vibe. Also, Courtney is the best.
does anyone follow natalie weiner on twitter? she is insufferable. her #metoo was a dude she liked/had a crush on "putting his hands on her for more than a minute" which could only be interpreted as him putting his hands around her waist or something similar. not trying to minimize sexual assault, but some of these people might need a chill pill.
Any of y'all ever heard the song "King of Hollywood" by the Eagles? Lyrics are #relevant Well he sits up there on his leatherette Looks through pictures of the ones That he hasn't had yet When he thinks he wants a closer look He gets out his little black telephone book Come sit down here beside me honey Let's have a little heart to heart Now look at me and tell me darlin' How badly do you want this part? Are you willing to sacrifice And are you willing to be real nice All your talent and my good taste I'd hate to see it go to waste We gon' get you an apartment, honey We gon' get you a car Yeah, we gon' take care of you, darlin' We gon' make you a movie star For years I've seen 'em come and go He says, "I've had 'em all, ya know" I handled everything in my own way I made 'em what they are today After 'while, nothing was pretty After 'while, everything got lost Still, his jacuzzi runneth over Still, he just couldn't get off He's just another power junky Just another silk-scarf monkey You'd know it if you saw his stuff The man just isn't big enough Released 1979
Anne-Marie Losique (in the Ben Affleck video) is a Quebec porn star/producer/entertainer, FWIW. Not a serious interviewer.
Lupita Nyongo wrote a great piece explaining how Harvey would try and prey on young actresses. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/19/opinion/lupita-nyongo-harvey-weinstein.html Also:
A couple ladies have accused him of creepy shit. Like one said he wouldn’t let her leave a room until she watched him jerk off or something.
Came here to post that article...gives me the creepy chills. But you just know that pressure worked on so many women.
The snowball effect after Weinstein is pretty remarkable. Like he was holding the entire thing together.
I think it’s more that people are seeing the response to his victims/accusers being supportive and realizing that they have more power than they ever thought they did.
That might be an option, but given the financial info I have to deal with we can't have our phones out at work either. Because you know if I was going to steal financial info, it would of course be by taking pictures with my phone.
Some state law apparently. But I'm up for a promotion, so I don't feel like fucking that up see who Weinstein perved on this time.
There’s a state law that says you can’t have a smart phone out at your work? Or is that just how your work has chosen to interpret a state law? It seems like a very specific and poorly crafted state law if it is written like that.
I know what I am told from my supervisors. Certain state and federal regulations prohibit smart phones when you handle "sensitive" financial information. She used to let it slide, but people above her did an audit and were not pleased.
I was a family law attorney, and I haven't cared to look it up to be honest. Hopefully I'm in a new position where that is irrelevant in about 2 weeks.
Apologize in advance if someone else has made the point...but I guess I should have brought a few bathrobes. Seems most scenarios the dude shows up in a bathrobe
