Just finished S1. What great TV. Short seasons without 300 different storylines to keep track of. Phenomenal acting to top it off. Can't wait for S2 & 3.
The Russian chick is near perfect looking. and I know most will disagree, but I am starting to see Tom Hardy cast as Tom Hardy in so much of what he does. Its not necessarily him, but at times he uses the same mannerisms (head bob/tilt) as seen in his other roles. He also would enunciate/drag out words like he did with Bane, and at times he sounded a touch like Bane too.
its very, very slight. a combination of Tom Hardy's voice and a creakiness he adds to both characters. that is it.
Hardy definitely has a cadence to his voice and speech patterns that often comes through in his characters. I hear some of that in both.
he really does. And I have no complaints about it, but the way he elongates certain parts of his lines from the throat is just like Bane.
I'm not sure what it says about me that I didn't loathe Linda the way some of the rest of you did, but it says something. I loved the scene where she effectively extorts an exact figure from Tommy because they both know that she can get Arthur to do whatever she wants, and Tommy isn't about to take her out of the picture so that her influence is no longer an issue.
I binged these last week after reading this thread. I can't say I agree with the bolded. There is a lot going on. But, that has to happen when you have such great characters.
Season 3 might have been my favorite. I turned closed captioning on after the second episode of the season and it made it much better. Just can't understand these gypsies. I missed the horse trainer lady. She was > Grace The Russian was wild. I mean, she was wild BEFORE their final sex scene, but that was truly wild. A lot of people have picked Michael as the standout character of the season, and I don't disagree with that. I liked him a lot. I would actually go with Arthur, though. He had a few amazing scenes during the season- None better than the torture scene with Sabini- "I heard the black birds" followed by "That's not who we are" (I think that's what he said to Tommy) after he kills Sabini was my favorite moment of the season :)
Yeah I had to read up about the tunnelers in ww1. Shits pretty crazy. Apparently the allies developed a lot of listening devices to hear the German tunnelers. So that's the tapping the Tommy was always freaking out about. Oh...I Grace. Love/Hate 6 episode seasons. Quick moving and fast, but too quick. Wife is out of town and I've smoked each night and binge watched. Didn't realize the seasons were short and on what I thought was Ep7, I was real confused they skipped ahead 2 years in the middle of a season. Watched the start of s3 last night a 1am just to make sure it was Grace he was gonna marry.
It happened in the 1st scene of the show when the Priest said he wanted to stop by their up coming school. Then maybe in 3 or 4, Michael tells Thomas very seriously that he wanted to kill him b/c he knew what he did during his time after being taken away from Polly. So it was hinted through out the season.
Yeah, I read the recaps of GoT and it helps tie a lot of shit together. After a couple different episodes I would read recaps if I was confused.
Too scared to read whole thread for spoilers, but checking in. Finished s1;e4...really enjoying it Cillian is the shit and the writing is great
watched the first 4 episodes of this last night, basically knew I'd get hooked from the get go, gonna get through everything before I read this thread
mother of God that season 3 finale just finished and frantically searched for when season 4 comes out, only to be rocked by the news that it doesn't even start filming until March (sorry for the bump slogan)
this was pretty much the best thing ever, easily my favorite character in the show all I could think about as he's screaming in Tommy's face was how difficult it must've been for Cillian to just not completely drop character and start clapping
also as far as following along with the dialogue goes, I've literally watched the whole series with my headphones plugged into the speaker system, pretty cool hearing every little detail of sound

I believe it started tonight When does season four of Peaky Blinders start? Season four of the hit drama will begin TONIGHT (Wednesday, November 15) at 9pm on BBC Two. The premiere is up against The Apprentice on BBC One, Gone to Pot: American Road Trip on ITV and Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away on Channel 5. Just like previous series, there are six-hour long episodes in total. And as ever, if you miss an episode and aren't signed up to Netflix, you should also be able to catch it on BBC iPlayer – provided you have a TV licence. The BBC commissioned seasons four and five at the same time, so it shouldn't be too long until we get the fifth instalment. Currently Netflix has seasons one and two of the hit show available to stream – the streaming service's air dates for seasons three and four are yet to be revealed.
