Dealer I bought my truck from straight up lied to my face about the condition of the truck. I still hope that guy and his supervisor have something horrible happen to them

Happened to a buddy of mine. He walked into the dealership looking at trucks and told the sales guy the only thing he cared about was adaptive cruise (where you set the cruise and if the car senses traffic, it slows down to match the speed of traffic until it clears up). He looked at three trucks and explained several times that he needed to make sure the truck had adaptive cruise.

Buys one and takes it home and can’t get the adaptive cruise to work. He calls and they tell him to bring it in at the oil change and they will figure it out. He brings it in and it doesn’t have it. The equipment isn’t even there so it’s a $3k upgrade.

Tried to sue them. All he wanted was the dealership to install it at cost.

They told him to pound sand. Fucking ridiculous.

if adaptive cruise is that important to him, why didnt he check it out before actually buying the truck?

Long story but my buddy is too trusting.

He told the dealer he needed it and thought the dealer would only show him trucks with that feature.

I like that you can get the z71 with the diesel. I know it won't have the power my v8 Tahoe has. But whatever. The creature comforts are worth the sacrifice.

Any Ram drivers in here? Looking at F150, Tundra, and now possibly the Ram 1500. Seems as though there’s a ton of stuff offered by Dodge that no one else is doing: air suspension, diesel, push start, remote start, etc.

Think I’m going’s to take a look at some 20143and newer Laramie Longhorn models.

(2013 and 14 motor trend truck of the year?)

Ended up getting a 3 year lease on a 2018 Silverado LTZ Redline. 4x4, leather, sunroof, Bose sound system. This thing seriously kicks ass. Can’t believe how much the tech has changed in these in the last few years, we’ll atleast compared to my previous 2012 Sierra.

its a cool truck, and i saw a shelby version the other day that im sure would be fun to drive
but damn they are rough riding...

the suspension is made for off road driving, on asphalt its rougher riding than my F350

    Bought this yesterday.

If you have kids or plan to have people in the back seat often, Chevy/GM, even Denali and High Country, do not have rear AC vents, controls, or even heat seats.

I was so close to getting a Sierra Denali but was lol when I saw how much smaller the back seat was and the lack of any love for the rear seat passengers.

Still love the 6.2 and magnetic ride though.

    IMG_20171201_230333_01.jpg IMG_20171201_230336_01.jpg IMG_20171201_230339_01.jpg

15000 miles, Rousch Level 2 Kit (exhaust, intake, tune installed by Ford), spray liner, and hard bed cover.

The 36 gallon tank is great. Bought it north of Charlotte and drove it home to NorFla (530 miles) and still had 160 miles left.

Edit: I met one of my good friends at this place in Duluth called Arena Tavern, finally enjoyed a Tropicalia, and ran into Greg G5 Reid, it was a great day to be alive. He was loving the ride as we reminisced about the chickfila bowl, lowndes county, and wtf was going to happen with Fisher.

I love the new 250s. I barely have a need for the 150 so the 250 was out of question but they are nice.

The massaging seats on my no muddy boots allowed road queen Limited, I thought would be a gimmick, but they actually feel good and about 4 hours into the drive really helped. The sales rep was full of shit though telling the me car charger port was for the happy ending. I could barely get the tip in...

So there’s a solid chance that in the near future I’ll be promoted to a position requiring me to have a vehicle 5 years old or newer. There’s a list of vehicles that I have to choose from that I haven’t seen yet, but it’s pretty much any truck.

I saw this thread and figured I could jumpstart my research via TMB. I don’t know much about trucks but I know I’m definitely not looking to buy new.

Anyone have any 15-17 ish range trucks they like?

One of my closest friends did the Velociraptor upgrade to his 2013 Raptor. I've driven it for at least 1000 miles on a couple different road trips. It's absolutely unnecessarily fast and loud but once watched him successfully drive it through the middle of a recently drained lake bed and despite being buried to the doors in mud make it out the other side without any assistance. I didn't find the ride to be nearly as rough on the road as most people have made it seem in this thread but to each their own. [Driving it 9 hours back home after that lake bed experience was certainly rougher though as we dropped about 500-800 pounds of mud off along the way.]

Somewhat related, Ford is going to be selling Rangers again and will have a Raptor version. But what's not well known is that they're also going to be making a F-250 SuperDuty Raptor with around 490hp out of the factory in the next 2-3 years.

Not sure what is going on with it. My FIL drove it 1,000 miles with towing a 6x12 trailer and the Ebrake, ABS, and traction control lights on the dash came on a few times. Now they both go off 3-5 times during my 30 min commute and my cruise control doesn’t work. Also, during the snow I noticed that my electronic traction control is off.

Seems like a lot of fords itt but has anyone heard about something like this?

It sounds like the computer needs a reset. I have had computer issues on my 08 when the battery dies including one that effected the audio in the stereo. Might take it by the dealership and see if it is an easy fix. Is it throwing any codes on the check engine lights or anything?

If your cruise is on your wheel, they're going to say clock spring (wire spool inside steering wheel). Mine was $440 or so including labor (F250). My airbag light was on. Buddy with a Silverado had his go bad too, and got some weird electrical shit going on, like saying "Service 4WD" on his dash readout. That problem can manifest itself in a number of ways, apparently. Good luck.

Help me out, getting closer to unloading my 4D sedan and getting into a pickup. Fiancee is getting rid of her SUV and into something smaller (Tesla model 3 is the leader in the clubhouse...) and I need space for hauling dog and kayaks. I want to go half-ton, as I don't need the added utility of anything bigger. No small pickups (tacomas, canyons, rangers, colorados, whatever.)
    1. It's got to last. I don't like buying vehicles, and I don't like having car payments. This thing needs to go 200-250k+.
    2. I log a lot of miles, and work even when Atlanta weather sucks (snowpocalypse, ice, etc.) 4wd is a must.
    3. For now company is paying my gas bill, but eventually that benefit will be taken away. Ideally I'd get into a diesel, but options are pretty limited.
    4. Crew cab preferably, extended cab maybe, but it has to have a back seat for doggo.
    5. I want to stay under $20k. This is the tough part, but trucks seem to be getting absurdly expensive, even pre-owned with 100k...
I'm actually headed to test drive this:

I bought a 2012 ram crew cab with 37k Miles that was in perfect condition a little over a year ago for 24k. I love my truck. That mpg estimate is off IMO. I get around 11 in town and 17 on the highway. Also, before buying with the ram box, contact your insurance. I know that in earlier models it was a safety issue.

Is that a crew cab or quad cab?

I’m fairly certain if money was no object, Dinali is the way to go.

If money was less of an object than it currently is, I really love the ram longhorn. I just can’t rationalize 60k for a pickup.

Kind a hard to compare apples to apples with this truck and a Denali though.

I don’t know what kind of dogs you have and if you have any kids, but quad cabs were too small in the back for my liking. Problem is (at least out west) finding crew cabs was difficult. Go check it out and see for yourself though.

I just drove it, had to leave so I could think in it for a few days. Priced at 18k seems too good to be true.

    Only issues I have are:
    1. Open recall (NHTSA #17V-821
#T79 BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK Status: Remedy not yet available)
    2. Gas mileage (which probably won’t be any better across the class at this age/price point)
    3. High miles (not well versed enough on rams going to 200/250k, but I’d rather trying with a naturally aspirated 8 than say a ford turbo 6)
