his name is like -Ice Man- or something...everyone says he is legit...I traded e-mails with him a few times, but ended up getting my diamond in Miami at the Seybold building
Got my engagement ring from him. He's awesome. Let me know if you need help getting in touch with him ATS. Lake's a real good dude; the ring I got from him appraised for about something like 40% more than what I paid for it.
One of my friends used him. He brings the guy up anytime someone talks about getting engaged. He gave my friend an awesome deal. There was a weird issue with payment - something involved with a sketchy way to send it. My friend was worried at first but the guy came through. The ring got appraised for way more than it was worth. It's legit.
There's an additional charge to do a CC payment because he's a wholesaler (I think it was 4%) so it's cheaper to do a cashier's check. I had a similar anxious feeling after doing it that way, but obviously had no problems.
He's a poster on Orangebloods and has sold a ton of engagement rings to posters and I can't recall having read anything but high praise for him. I had a friend who called him for his ring, didn't end up buying it through him but he said the guy sounded like he was legit. That all being said, buying a ring you've never seen in person from a guy you've never met in person does seem shady as fuck. FWIW you can also find his home address on google so I guess you could always go fuck his ass up if he screwed you over.
That was it. Some issue with that also made it cheaper for my friend to get the band locally. The guy had no problem with it and was really nice about it.
Didn't have that same problem, but as you mentioned he's happy to work around whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
rep is everything in that business. the amount of referrals and work he's gotten from Rivals alone is probably easily 6 figures worth. been seeing posts about him on Rivals for years upon years and never a negative comment ever.
For every 7 marriages there are 4 divorces. Don't break the bank for her, odds are it will end up at a pawn shop (or on her right hand) in the next few years, and if she really loves you she wont care.
I'm sure he's really good, but if you don't get a ring that appraises for much more than you paid for it then the seller screwed you over. I used someone recommended by a friend and my wife's ring was appraised at about 45% more than I paid and all my friends had similar results with different people. Usually the person you buy from is an appraiser that will give you a good result.
Must have missed where I said the ring he made for me appraised for about 40 percent more than what I paid for it.
I saw it and was just referencing that if he was more comfortable with someone in person that a good deal would likely be available that way as well.
Fair enough. I think a lot of people who use Lake are people who don't have any kind of connections. He's more than happy to just talk to you about your choices too - so even if you just want some help and don't want to use him to shop he's your guy.
Is this fella still around? Please send contact via pm if so. Has everyone had a good experience. Flights to Austin are cheap, this may be worth it. Her father reads orangebloods
Gotcha. If you end up having to pull back on any of the 5 C's, do it with clarity. Size is most important. Then color. IMO.but, he'll explain all of that.
Yes, she's been wearing it for two week now and loves it. I definitely got more ring for the money with him and it arrived slightly bigger than expected. Down payment to ring completion/shipping was 5 weeks. He also rec'd a better insurance program than adding to homeowners. Will likely use for wedding bands. I''m happy.
