I played the Beta this weekend, and I'm now 100% getting it. Didn't like the 20 minute time limit or not being able to just straight up explore, but I hear it's been like that in every demo they've had. 50 minutes is what it is in the game, with some missions being explore/gather and you're able to explore after any type of mission is completed.
It's almost like it's a FromSoftware game with the amount of help it gives beginners. I've taken a liking to my cat SirMeow, though.
So good so happy, and I love the customization armor ECT with the camo it is MGS snake eater meets the Souls series
Did you use the slinger and the tools, ect, I mean how many games can you use a grapple to latch on to a bird and fly around the map. I can't wait for exploration mode with the glider
It is the beta that training area where you learn weapons how to use the slinger , how to grapple to bugs and what bugs/creatures stun will be your best friend
i played with a friend. we went to a dude and he told us to go kill something. it took forever to spawn. then it didn't die. we stopped playing. if enough ps4 people are buying it i will buy just to co op because there's not really much else right now outside of fortnite
I'm a monster hunters game veteran and it was a bit overwhelming for me. Pick two weapons that fit your combat style master them then branch out.
The reviews so far are beyond solid but I'm there with you I just didn't find the combat in the beta enjoyable and it also seemed like a lot to wrap my feeble mind around. I'm sure following this thread will make me wanna buy it eventually though
Well their 30 min hunt timer was dumb. The hunts will be timed but you will have time to observe , check out the area and what environmental traps you can use, and what plants you can gather. It won't be a all you have time to do is run and kill the monster quickly .
they say its a difficult game to learn from a beginners standpoint, but once you do, it's amazing. i played the demo and thought it was difficult to get into. rave reviews tho.
It is just like the Dark Souls series it is meant to kick your ass but every death or failed hunt teaches you the game and expedition mode is great for exploring and trying out the vast amount of combat mechanics with no objective or time limit.
Other than the 15 mins of gameplay I watched earlier today, I’m going in blind. I didn’t even know it was a sequel until this thread.
Ran into my first big dragon it started fighting a smaller monster who had just swallowed a even smaller creature this game is amazing.
because i figured out how and random matchmaking has been pretty good so far and there's a lot of fun mechanics
Combat is fun , when you hit a perfect leap out a monster and you rodeo while taking it out slowly as it slams itself against trees and rocks, taking the monster you killed and turning it into armor and weapons. Having no health bar but the monster limping and you severing body parts which can be used for crafting later it is a lot to take in but so damn good
