When he's bad he's really bad. Was still able to put up 12 and 16 because of his hustle but that was pretty brutal to watch. Williams is another guy that plays his tail off and somehow always comes up with big rebounds as the smallest guy on the floor but he still can't shoot.
That little git, zappa, has been IMing me on SN about some perceived personal insult on a post where I called him out and been challenging me to come down to his dad's museum for a fight. lol.
stable individual as for basketball....how good can Baker be by his senior year? i really cant see his ceiling.
Those Banks quotes sure sound like slow playing to me. edit: and now he's announcing this week. Projecting players is hard, e.g. Corey's offensive numbers keep getting worse.
Just watched a replay, we've lost so many of those games where we clawed back into a game only to have the other team pull away again. Pleased to see them claw back twice and close it out
Banks is likely not coming here. He isn’t good so I don’t care but Burnham doesn’t relate well to these DL on the recruiting trail. 2017 DL class was solid. 2018 one is bad.
I feel like we may get our best mix..I like mimes a lot and if I'm choosing someone based on film, there are a lot of guys I'd take before banks. I still like Thomas though..he put up good numbers despite sustaining a serious injury midseason that may have hampered him a bit
I like Mimes too. Great frame, very raw. Good kid. He could become 290. Of course he was hosted by Mike T so we closed the deal.
I’d love for us to close with Casey Rogers. Idk why were wasting our time with Banks. He’s not good, he’s strung us along twice now and he doesn’t have great size. Honestly baffled as to why we even are still recruiting him
I like that he is already 230ish and still looks skinny. He has the frame to put on a lot of weight without getting slowed down. Plus it is hard to ignore that his brother was a monster DE.
BTW watch this highlight tape if you haven't seen it yet. I can't remember the last time any RU commit looked this good on film since Anthony Davis. Yes that include Hamilton, Carroo, etc. Maybe there is someone I'm not thinking of but this kid could be a serious monster level player once he gets acclimated to D1.
He’s definitely the steal of the class. Really good ball skills for a LB and he’s got good size. Super quick to the ball and you can tell he’s got a good football IQ. Diagnoses plays quickly and instinctively. Really surprised no big boys were on him
I am finishing up my evals for this class....Avery Young is another steal. Kid has fantastic size and can really play. I can't get an opinion on his speed, but at worst he's a S. He should've had more offers. McDonald I don't even want to talk about. Thank God for the early signing period. He is a future starting LB.
That's what I originally wanted banks for..OL. if he's gonna be a DT...idk how that's gonna go. Side note...sounds like we're landing Robinson tonight
Bobby loves Robinson, and we need big bodies at the WR position. I like the pickup a lot this late considering Dotson isn’t giving us a look
Wouldn't surprise me to see this kid stick at TE, WR, or DE. As a DE prospect he has 5x more hope than king to make an impact. Lots of length there.
I feel much better about Woods being the 3rd WR in the class than the top one. Jordan and Robinson are nice.
It's a decent class, I'd feel better obviously if we had better DL commits. I think you kinda have to take Banks just because otherwise our depth chart will be a shitshow if we don't take someone. It's better than the three Flood classes, not that's a high bar to clear.
That's a really good pick-up this late in the game. I like his film at WR (speaking as if I know wtf I'm talking about)
I think Paul Mulcahy is considered a strong RU lean at this point. 6'4" PG. Beyond that, I don't really know. The Ranney kids aren't coming here, but damn are they good. Scottie Lewis is filthy.
Yea, this is why I was asking if he was signing on Wednesday haha. I'm nervous until his LOI is in. I can't for the life of my figure out why he doesn't have more offers.
i thought ND was gonna be a threat in Mulcahy's recruitment and he was blowing up. but i also have a sneaking suspicion that quote from the father of a 2019 prospect that said rutgers had finally gotten a real coach was from mulcahy's dad.
Robinson is a damn good athlete. I was very high on him in the spring and bummed when he chose NC State. We are closing pretty strong coming off of 4 wins.
I can appreciate the bird in the hand strategy we may have going. Yes it may jump start us to get a few steals later..but we probably are down to hilliman and a DL as far as scholarships. Yet we locked in a class in the 40-50 range..I'll accept that in what was supposed to be our down recruiting year. And we get the head start on 2019 since we're only worrying about 2 spots in this class (or maybe 5 if other teams interpret the rules differently on grad transfers). And we already have the skill positions solid for 2019 (wise, hayek, and soon to be Aaron young)
Now that Kill is officially retiring, who would you guys wanna see brought in at OC? I’d be happy with Longo or Wright
Agreed. His contract expires. He can’t recruit DL here and is ok as a DL coach. Ash needs to make a move there IMO. Possibly WR coach too.
ej turner committed to kansas state. kinda surprised he decommitted from us just to go to emaw. thought his options would be better.
i dont even know how we got into this crap at dt/de , i mean its incredible really. otherwise i really like this class for coming off our last season.
DT recruiting is always hard, it was always hard under Schiano. I guess Turay and Earlington were realistic targets at one point? And let's calm down in that this isn't by any means a Flood class. Worst comes to worst, Ash finds some DL, I trust him. Or sign some LBs and fatten them up like we did to that Travov kid.
I agree that this is a solid class, but if you miss on a position group for a few consecutive classes then you have a problem. Our 2019 class needs to have at least 4-5 DL given how 2018 worked out. I’d much rather go BPA at this point than just add a fringe FBS talent at DL
FWIW I thought the DL committed to ODU had a pretty good tape, but he’s a DE. Matt Thomas is going to wind up a DT here. His frame Reminds me of Bateky in HS.
