Nutter (Red Wedding) - 1-2 episodes Sapochnik (Hardhome, tBotB, Winds of Winter) - 2-3 episodes D&D (notable episode: S4 opener with ‘Every fucking chicken’) - 1 episode, series finale http://ew.com/tv/2017/09/26/game-thrones-season-8-directors/
Well, hell. on behalf of us GoT posters who don't want to read all of your posts during Season 7 and in the interest of filling time until Season 8 premiers in 2050, please summarize for us your reasons for calling Season 7 an abortion. No judgement...unless your reasoning is shit.
Going across the Wall to catch a wight to show to Cersei may be the dumbest thing ever written. I still can’t believe that actually happened.
Season 7 from just a ‘shut off your brain and enjoy this’ viewpoint was fantastic Season 7 from a logical point of view was not good But hey, it’s a show that’s trying to tie as many loose ends as possible. And the two guys doing it are bigger nerds than any of us. So I’m not complaining
The transition of the series from Fantasy suspense/thriller to Fantasy Michael Bay movie has been interesting.
So basically 2018 is already pointless and might as well be over. Have they explained why the last 2 seasons are so short?
I have not watched the multitude of interviews they’ve given where this answer may have been offered. But I have read a number of interviews and it seems they planned on doing the entire series in ~75 hours from day one. Why that’s a magic number, I don’t know. I bet at this point in the show, however, I assume the production costs (cast salaries, on location filming, CGI/special effects) make doing 10 episode seasons cost-prohibitive. Perhaps even more of a limiting factor is the lack of source material; no need for slower-paced “setup” episodes focusing on character development when the show is now essentially 100% plot driven.
Probably the Stannis stuff with him killing his daughter? I think GRRM said something about that after it aired.
This right here is such a bullshit cop out. As he publicly acknowledged, GRRM decided to undertake a major undisclosed plot change in TWOW. Apparently this change proved more unwieldy than he anticipated and necessitated several tweaks in multiple storylines he had previously assumed wouldn’t need much revising. Fuck you George. I cant wait to shit on your grave.
Was it just me or is Jon’s statue the only one that looked like it aged? So the two girls might die but Rob lives and then rules?
are we all in agreement that Bran is the key to this? can't shake the line Benjen gave to him about when the NK finally meets the world of men that Bran will be there to face him and he'll be ready.
I didn’t see it as a future Jon reference. I just think the face on the statue looked different since it has a full beard, and Jon has a shitty beard IRL. But, I’m usually wrong and only watched it once.
All of the statues looked like garbage. Jon’s was just the worst. That teaser likely has nothing to do with the season. It was just to generate hype and have a cool aesthetic. I even remember Sohpie Turner giving an interview a while back about doing some promo regarding statues and how it had little relevance to season 8.
Also I’ve just realized that I’m fully prepared to see anyone of our heroes die at the hands of the Others, but Cersei killing them would absolutely wreck me.
Beric and Tormund are alive, better see some giant babies. Gonna cry like a baby when Jamie dies. Probably my favorite character arc of the series Jon gonna ride Rhaegal Golden company!!! Greyworm leading the unsullied Gendry and Podric looking like badasses
Arya is in the crypt when dead Starks come alive. the question is whether they go with obedient wights or whether the Starks are immune or something (perhaps Bran commands them?).
This makes sense. Maybe the NK can raise them but somehow the Starks are able to be controlled by Bran. Lol, who we kidding Zombie Ned is going to kill a bunch of people and everything sucks. Eat at Hot Pie’s.
