Something everyone needs to remember. If you buy bitcoin at 19,500 and the price drops to 11,000, you have to remember you haven’t lost a single dollar. You have lost theoretical value but you haven’t lost a cent until you sell that coin for less than you paid. Remember to remove emotion from this and let it ride. I don’t do a lot of day trading as I am more of a long term strategy. I am buying coins which show a long term growth option. I think we are seeing it rebound already. I am tempted to buy more BTC. I just bought some more LTC in hopes of moving it to Bittrex to get in some other coins once they reopen registrations.
lechnerd welp you can say you told me so Another hack. I still have some shitcoins there. Hope I can pull it out with MEW. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/etherdelta...ers-over-200000-worth-ethereum-stolen-1652525
This wasn’t a hack. It was a redirect. They basically pulled a man in the middle scheme. It worked though and people sent coins to the wrong address thinking they were sending it to the wallet on there. It might be a good idea to write down your wallet addresses to verify when you transfer coins it’s to the right place.
PharmDNole it does not appear that link you gave me supports Siacoin. Anyone know a paper or online wallet that does?
Basically cut bait on coinbase and big 3/4 near the bottom and gambled on smaller alts riding a quicker rebound - primarily SC and FCT while hodling an already large position in RPL. Worked out well for me today and amazed I’m back at something like 85-90% of precrash.. But I’ve only got fun money in this so it’s easy to take risks. Hope the whales in here have navigated in some fashion to minimize their own damage.
Ok i'm going to need someone to explain to me like I'm 5 how I can create 2 wallets for siacoin that I can give the information to my brother and nephew. And then how would they sell/transfer/whatever the coins from that wallet if they wanted to? I don't understand the walletgenerator.net thing at all. It's like $75 total in Siacoin so it doesn't need to be some hardcore wallet. Just something that will be easy to transfer to them.
I think that the guys with big money in this stuff didn’t entertain selling during crash imho. They all bought more.
I'm not even a big dog in this thread and that's what i did. Bought small amounts of BTC and LTC earlier this morning then sent them to GDX then to Bittrex
Fml I’ve had a couple thousand dollars worth in limbo for nearly a week now. Transfer from bank to ETH and LTC. I’m sure the day they appear in my account Coinbase will be frozen
Can you recommend any alternatives? Coinbase’s ease of use and mobile app have made it extremely easy to get Fiat to crypto. Going to probably look into Gemini at some point soon.
I bailed on coinbase this morning. They way they kept halting trading seemed super sketchy, so I moved everything I could. I lucked out and was able to dump my free BCash for a really good price, but it was touch and go with them shutting down trading over and over. I just started to worry that they might go belly up, and my money would disappear. The sign up for gemini was super easy, but I'm still waiting on verification, before I can transfer $.
So one of the best/easiest is just to move things to GDX? They require a drivers license photo id tho right?
I am starting TMB exchange. LEt me know what you want and ill give you my bank account and you give my your wallet address.
I don’t like the idea of having to do a wire transfer to verify on Gemini I bought a nano s and I guess I’ll finally learn how to use that
But think of the Winkelvi. From Hollywood villains to bitcoin heroes. I mean sure it’s an arduous process. But the narrative dude, the narrative.
Here is a list of some alternatives with their fees broken out. https://steemit.com/bitcoin-exchang...bitcoin-with-paypal-credit-card-or-debit-card
https://siapaperwallet.co @jaxteller Just generate 2 wallets and print them off them send them to the address
I’m willing to offer a get out of jail free pass, admissible anywhere in the city limits of Raleigh, NC, to an experienced, proven crypto-type that will maintain my various wallets and token keepers. Anyone who freaked out* today need not apply. *me
Where do you guys trade? I used to use BTC-E.com back in the day and am looking to get back in the game. Their website apparently got shutdown
So when you send LTC or BTC from somewhere (let's say GDAX) to your wallet on another exchange, that amount of LTC/BTC is "bundled" with other transfers into the same transaction right? I've been reviewing the transaction id/hash and see other amounts in there unrelated to what I'm sending.
No need for that, sorry for the loss. It’s interesting that the exchanges that have been hacked/exploited are relatively small and that still appears to have spooked the crypto market. Just imagine if a large platform like coinbase becomes affected. Their small 15 minute blip in the middle of the day certainly didn’t help the slide. That said, the most fascinating part of today for me was the afternoon rally. Climbing from <11k to nearly 15k is incredible.
