Bush/Cheney was a terrible president and did awful things to the country and world, and I never thought I’d live to see Americans elect a worse one, but here we are. Obama only happened because of how bad Bush was. But I feel now like a did then that it would have been better for the country all things considered if Hillary Clinton won in 08. We wouldn’t have had Obamacare, and not sure she would have gone after Bin Laden, but she would have also turned the economy around and would have dealt more effectively with Putin and McConnel, and Trump wouldn’t be president right now. We might be in Mitt Romney’s second term but that would still be better than Trump. Maybe Obama would have gained some experience in the Senate and then beaten Romey in 16 and everything would be better right now.
Trump is not gonna take impending defeat of GOP lightly. Gonna cite all sorts of Russian propaganda and get in the mud against the democratic opposition. Gonna blow any islamic terrorism way out of proportion.
He'll blow up the investigation well before midterms and have little to blame it on besides himself. ....so he'll blame it in Killary
rich people (one percent)* Listen dickhole, you don’t want to pay for people to eat? Just think of it as a small price to pay for the US not to turn into god damn Brazil.
Which would be hilarious because a shit ton of poor Americans would be ok with this because they don’t realize they’re the poor Americans that would be hunted and killed. “Well shit, I thought they just meant the blacks and Mexicans.”
My kids grandpa who just passed away a couple days ago was taking this for 5 years and had an 8k a month bill just for this drug. It kept him alive when he was give a couple weeks to a couple months to live 5 years ago she he was initially diagnosed, and I'm not sure how much money he had to pay out of pocket each month after Medicare and his supplement insurance paid for it... but not many senior citizens can afford that or supplemental insurance.
What's sad is the above is absolutely true. A whole bunch of Trump Supporters would get wiped out by legislation that they supported because they're the dumbest group of humans this world has ever seen.
I have a theory. There is a direct correlation between shitty fan bases and the number of posters that regularly change their user names
"If it makes the libs angry it must be good" - Trump Supporters final words before being executed and shoved into a mass grave
Absolutely. I’ve been a Bill/Hillary supporter since I was a millennial in the early 90s. Obama’s election in 12 was an amazing moment, but when Bill was elected in 92 it was incredible. We partied for days, and I went to the inauguration on the Mall. So much optimism after getting out from under the Regan/Bush thumb, and Clinton delivered, the 90s were an awesome decade, before Scalia and Bush/Cheney turned everything to shit. But you know what? I lined up behind Obama immediately after it was clear Hillary was going to lose the primary in 08. None of that subversive undermining shit that Bernie and his crew pulled in 16, helping Trump to the presidency. I’ve always been a Dem and always a team player. And I was all in with Obama in 12. Hill has a sub optimal personality but she would have been a solid potus. And we wouldn’t be sliding to autocracy right now.
This is from that Russia article. This type of attitude will only grow with time. Come at the king do it right and all that, but the longer Mueller takes the less the GOP will be motivated to act, and even the general public is not going to care at some point that Russia fucked our democracy. Back during Watergate nothing really happened from one week to the next, and you needed to go to the library to look shit up. Now, a month’s worth of news happens every day and we will have the library in our phones. Nothing is going to happen to Trump or his team wrt Russia.
All of the “How can the president/administration act this way given the threat?” questions go away once you understand and accept that they were complicit.
It wasn’t amazing the the first African American potus got re-elected to a second term? A piece of driftwood could have won as the Dem in 08.
I'd say his initial election and being the 1st black president was great than being the 1st black reelected President. But I'm not a boomer retard
True, but going it was reasonable to expect that a contingent of the GOP would feel loyalty to the country and Constitution above Party, and understand the consequences of allowing Russia to get away with their actions. Rorbacher has always been a Russia puppet, and McConnell, Ryan and a few others are complicit for not allowing Obama to go public with the info before the election, but it’s really unlikely that large numbers of GOP congressmen and officials were in on the Russia scheme. That’s left wing tin foil. They are going all in now because they understand it’s the only way to keep power and donor cash flowing. Having Trump to them is just acceptable collateral damage.
indeed gets shit on a lot itt for his baby boomer-esqe views on the political landscape but at the end of the day he has the mentality that more of us millennials need to adopt. That viewpoint is we can bicker about policy platforms and candidates amongst ourselves all day long but when the rubber meets the road, we need to stay engaged with the democratic party and stay energized to vote for them regardless of who is running. Perfection is the enemy of progress and just because we dont think things are perfect with the DNC doesnt mean we can lay down and let the GOP roughshod over the middle class. Time to stop eating our own.
Technically he’s mixed race, as his mom is white. 08 was a significant achievement tho, thanks in large part to supporters of Hillary Clinton getting over it and rallying behind the Dem nominee, unlike what we saw in 16.
more bernie voters voted for clinton in 16 than clinton voters voted for obama in 08, but go ahead with your dumbass narrative
I basically agree with this but there's like 15 GOP members holding office (including senior leadership) that have taken significant Russian oligarch money. I'm not saying they all hatched a plan and executed it, but they all suddenly realized "oh shit, I'm vulnerable here" and are covering their asses and obstructing as a result.
Go on with your whataboutism. Sounds like Fox News. 2016 was a binary choice, between a competent yet sub personality and a completely incompetent bigot and conspiracy theorist. A lot of Bros made the wrong choice.
he's repeatedly told people they are naive for not seeing the virtues of corporate power. i think the shitting upon has been earned.
His vision for the Democratic Party is a party that has all the same policies as as the Republican Party except isn't as hostile to black people and gays. He'll vote R in 2020 if the Democrats dare run anyone to the left of Mitt Romney.
I realize I have no place to say this, considering I engaged watson with his usual shtick yesterday, but can we fucking not with the Hill/Bern bullshit for the umpteenth time?
Should we show the numbers of your generation who voted for Trump?? Shut the fuck up with the condescending bullshit towards younger generations
I can’t wait for the part when the Committee of Public Safety gives Republican Baptisms to the indeeds of the country too
Hey I appreciate that. I get called a Boomer or Boomer sympathizer and yet I’ve been a liberal Dem fighting boomers all my adult life, and I constantly call for the younger crowd to eject olds out of politics. 10 or 20 more years and more will understand why pragmatism and centrism is often the best solution. Of course millennials as a dominant generation and multi culturalism in general will help pull the country back from all of the shitty policies and impacts of the GOP and conservative Boomer thinking. A lot of people tend be be more conservative with age, but I don’t see my slice of gen x and absolutely not the millennials falling into that trend. Getting rid of religion and racism are the biggest factors.
I think it's an argument that needs to happen - not between their candidates but the direction of the party. We have the indeeds of the world who want Democrats to keep drifting right in hopes of getting Gomer P. Shitfuck to vote for them (they won't) and everyone else who realizes you need to energize young people to win. Diet Republicans like Clinton and Kasich just don't do that.
