I have decided on the Roval CLX50 wheels. If they are good enough for the new S-Works Tarmac, they are good enough for me.

My data was somehow screwed up on strava, and didn't count my 12/24 ride (a 63 miler) towards my Festive 500 total.

I was upset about it enough to write off to strava support (it's getting cold here, and 63 miles isn't something I want to make up in 19 degree weather). Unbelievably, a real life person corrected it within a minute of contacting them, and followed up with an email to me. Kudos () to Strava.

I'm fat and slow, but pleasantly surprising myself with the miles I've been able to put in at the close of this year.

You should join us on Strava imo. You would easily be the leader this week and give the rest of us motivation to get out and ride.

Spent the morning researching trainers because of your comment.

Holy hell they are way more pricey than I thought and that was after I made this comment:

Got my Peloton. Will be back ITT but mostly rides on that. Next couple of months won’t have a lot of time to dedicate to working out.

I put many a mile on a standard trainer that you can get for under $200, pretty sure some can be found for under $100. But yeah, smart trainers are super expensive. To me it beats sitting on my bum during bad weather though.

Depends really. I rarely go below 80 and maintain around a 95 average while pedaling. It is not abnormal for me to be pedaling between 110-120 for decent periods of time.

If you are bouncing around you are pedaling too fast. If you are below 80 your body could probably ride a bike more efficiently if you trained it.

    https://www.cycleops.com/catalog/trainers-rollers

This link will give you a rundown of all the models available from Cycleops. It looks like Mag+ might be the current steal of a deal. I believe that is the least expensive trainer that can accomodate apps such as Zwift. You will not get the full experince I believe as there is only 5 resistance settings but you can still use all your gears within each resistance setting.

All of these styles of trainers have been around and have prooven to be useful, some just take more mental toughness to ride than others. TVs are your friend with indoor training.

Hopefully I won’t be moving again this summer so I won’t have an excuse to slack off. Planning to get an indoor trainer to get back into shape again for the spring, hooked on riding but after the summer I didn’t get back into it before it got cold.

    My goals are to:
Work back up to 20/mi per day rides by March
    4800mi for the year
Get a road bike and push my longest rides to 60mi and ride my towns 60mi race in August

Really like Rouvy. Just couldn't get into the computer generated stuff plus the 10,000 riders around me on Zwift. I think the solo, doing random rides all over the world and getting to see that scenery is more my thing. Have done bumfuck Portugal and just did one around Red Rocks.

Also climbing is hard as fuck. My gosh.
