Just starting this today. From Andy Weir author of The Martian. Anyone else read this yet? Heard mixed but mostly positive reviews, aka not nearly as good as The Martian but fairly solid overall.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through it. Not terribly happy with it, but I'll p finish it.

Gave it a 7/10. No spoilers but I can’t stand the main character, which, looking back, was the complete opposite feeling I had during reading of The Martian.

Big fan again of his “realistic” sci-fi world building, and he paces his novels well, good mix of action and plot set up.

    Ending was just ok.

But, I was reading Farside (similar idea/sci-fi genre) at the same time. Which by comparison was a dumpster fire, so I think it did help inflate Artemis’s overall rating.

Same here. Not even halfway through the book and really wish I could put a screwdriver through her eye. The rest of the story is pretty solid so far though.
