i think both Morrowind and oblivion are way better. the quests in skyrim were overall pretty bland. i had fun but its sorta like fallout 4 its fun but just falls short compared to the other games in that series.
Skyrim has character customization and classes/skill builds that seem to make much more of a difference than “use this ability point to get +5% fast attack damage or make your Igni 5% stronger”. Other than that Witcher is p much superior so far imo
Skyrims combat is straight potato. melee is just you swinging a sword and awkwardly hitting every other turn. Sneak/bow is fun.
Right, you actually have to vary your attack based upon who or what you are fighting. Use different potions, bombs, skills. Skyrim is just run up to a guy, button mash.
I see complaints about TW3 combat a lot and I just don't get it. I assume these people play on easy and just pound light attack. Playing the game on the higher difficulties and actually teaching yourself to learn parry timing, mix in poisons, signs and bombs is so insanely enjoyable to me.
Right and sometimes when you are fighting a group of soldiers you have to use 3 separate attack strategies to take them all out. Have to parry some, dodge others, and roll dodge archers. Yes you can't be a wizard or a stealth player, but it isn't simple hack and slash.
Haven't played in a while and picked it back up last night. First fight, the Crones on Bald Mountain. That went horribly. Will have to try again tonight.
Picked it back up a couple weeks ago, was right before The Battle for Kaer Morhen. Still love this game so much.
My OG Xbox died a few days ago, I picked up a new one today. I thought all my Witcher 3 stuff was saved on my external hard drive, it wasn't. I lost all my saves, I just started Hearts of Stone and was near the end of the main game.
skyrim and fallout 4 were both really unfulfilling. fun games, but they could have been so much more. thieves guild was about the only thing i really got into in skyrim. bethesda really needs to adopt a 'less is more' approach when it comes to story and quest construction. would much rather have a handful of quality side quests plus 4 robust guild storylines and a decent main story than an infinite loop of fetch quests.
They killed the reward system when they added the crafting element in Skyrim that carried over to Fallout 4. Big, beautiful worlds dying to be explored yet they take a key element away from exploration by giving you the ability to out craft anything you can find. Make materials for stronger weapons super rare or something. Casuals are killing vidya
Bethesda gave into casuals to easily. When they streamlined all the skills in oblivion and cut it in half for skyrim
I think I'm about to start the final fight. I travelled to Undvik with Avallac'h, but got a notification that I failed the quest where you assassinate Radovid. So I reloaded the old save and killed Radovid. Now I'm back on Undvik and about to summon the Naglfair. Can't wait to dunk on Eredin.
put many of hours into this on PS4, didn't play the DLC. just got an Xbox One X, and the guy i share games with has this purchased. wonder if i should start a new playthrough, and purchase the DLC.
FYI game is fantastic. Not even close to done with first play through yet. Fuck trying to get the smugglers drops in skellige with the 70 sirens swarming every “?” On the map. First part of the game I’ve wanted to punch the developer in the face for creating.
It’s funny because when you first start playing you think the game is all about sword play and dodging and then you realize pretty quick it’s all about signs
Tried to defeat the witches a few times and failed miserably. Haven’t picked it up since those many attempts. Should be fun going back for it. Any tips?
Like Randy said the combat in TW3 is all about adhering to a build. There's a ton of tutorials on YouTube that focus in on builds wrt signs, alchemy and Meelee that can help you with combat. TW3 combat is a lot more nuanced than ppl give it credit and learning the ins and outs really make a difference in the game experience. You could also always drop the difficulty and button mash as well
I was stuck on I got owned by the first witch of the game, I had level one everything and she is a 2. I select her in the mission again, bringing up the contract and it becomes primary. It does not bring up any direction on the map though so I have no clue how to find her. Any idea? Sounds like we are in a similar spot. Edit: found this. Only going to use it when I need it. I want that shit dead. http://m.ign.com/maps/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/white-orchard
Yeah mine is a monster contract. Haven't got into witches yet. Trying to all the little shit before I go to Skellige. I've been working on the little shit for the better part of a week now. I feel like it could literally take a month, so much shit to find and do. I do have all my gwent cards. Don't think I can win anymore until I get on the boat.
I haven’t played any ps4 in about 2 weeks. Unhooked the ps4 to bring with me to my farm and haven’t set it back up at the house yet.
Yea, I’m talking abt the 3 witches of the wood. I can kill one pretty easily but killing the other 2 always stops me.
Playing my 2nd palythrough on easy. Just want to get to the DLC. First play through was on PS4, this time I’m on the X.
I heard writing wrapped on it recently. I hope its good. Apparently the writer really liked the books and is trying to capture some of the more emotional stories.
I bought this game first week it came out in May 2015 played like two missions then stopped. There were just too many missions and I didnt particularly care for the story. Then it started winning awards out the ass and I stubbornly insisted that it was beyond overrated. Poor mans Skyrim I thought. Summer of 2016 i finally decide to give it another shot and got absolutely hooked . Put in a good 200 hours between the game and both DLC's. Now I fucking play the Gwent Beta non stop and will all over the place when the netflix series drops. Such is life.
That's how I was. I only played it for the first time last year. Really regret not digging in sooner and wasting my life on Destiny
I jumped on the complete edition (game and all DLC) when it was $25 at Best Buy. Steal of the century. If they can do with a sci-fi universe in CyberPunk what they did with Witcher then lord have mercy I may just not even bother grocery shopping and just have my groceries delivered to me.
