There’s a companion app for overwatch league out now if you want to keep up that way. Spoiler Gladiators up 3-0 and it hasn’t been even close besides one round on ilios. Shanghai looks really bad.
Can we get city names put in the results, not just mascot? Used to love playing OW. Watched LA whoop on China for the 2nd match before a break.
Will be interesting to see what happens with ow this year now that they arent working mainly on owl stuff
It's about time for a new hero, right? My wishlist includes a mechanically demanding/aim intensive healer/tank so DPS players like myself (and the majority of the OW playerbase), will have a fun character to play. Or something that could combat the popular shield/spam meta. Like a hero that does more damage to shields/armor, but less to health (basically a tank and shield busting specialist). Would probably help combat some of the bastion/orisa strats. It would make dive more prominent, but spam meta just feels so unskilled and boring.
Jeff said its something the game needs. Could go one or two ways imo 1. Tank/healer hybrid 2. Anti dive tank that isnt dive. Pretty much everything in the game that counters dive is dive itself so we need something that isnt.
LONG POST INCOMING re: anti-dive hero. Might be OP or dumb. Just throwing shit at the wall because I've finished all of my work, and I have nothing better to do thanks to my productivity (feelsgoodman). TLDR: Anti-dive hero: Jekyll/Hyde personality with two forms or builds 1) Speed 2) Slow (static suppression field) Hero with a "suppression field" ability. Can activate to deny slow enemies (kind of like a slow similar to Mei's freeze effect) within his/her vicinity or designated area where the ability is used/placed/whatever. Could also be a defense hero/builder. Build a generator thing like sym/torb turret. It might be too strong if it was permanent, so a timer could be a safe bet. Ult could be that the field grows to a large radius (thinking blizzard minus the freeze) and stays up until it's destroyed (to separate it from being a weaker blizzard). Winston/DVA would not be able to dive on the field and safely get away. Wouldn't exactly be a hard counter, but it would make dives have to commit to life/death. Would make dive heroes positioning a lot harder, but not impossible. Down side is that would make the hero niche/defense only, thus the 2nd ability/build: Speed, something the game severely needs more of. The generator (if builder) or ability (if not a permanent build type of generator) can give a speed boost for a short time when heroes pass by it, or a permanent amped speed boost for the ult in a radius until it's destroyed.
So is there an overpowered character still? Haven't played in months. Noticed D.va got some rockets is about it.
Mercy has around 100% pick rate at all levels of play. Getting nerfed soon though. She is the best hero in the game by a large margin.
Super Vegeta So fun spending 20 minutes of our lives drawing on Hanamura. Can't wait to tell my grandkids about those 2CP maps one day. Gather around kids, let me tell ya about the spawn 5 feet from the point with stall character's, it's a dandy
I did play you guys on hanamura, but we ended up winning. Neither of our teams full capped both points though. 2 CP remained undefeated. I should have something. Have you moved in yet?
Technically, but I have no utilities/furniture up there yet. Planned on moving stuff this weekend, but got derailed by the snow storm. Still have shit internet, but OWL has me thirsty.
For the first time I'm actually planning my evening around watching the OWL match of NYE vs Dynasty. I've penciled in 15 -20 min for getting made fun of by my wife.
Dude ive been fucking talking about the potential of 4 tanks + moira and lucio since moira was released.
i'm on lucio rest of the team is torb/sym/orisa sitting on point and dva/winston trying to casually walk into torb/sym/bastion "why can't we capture the flag? they must have a good defense" says the orisa "you sitting on the flag doing nothing certainly isn't helping. lets just walk in there and team wipe them" i say so that's what we try to do "why isn't it working?" says the the torb who is still sitting on our flag "because i cant use speed boost" and i'll be damned if we didn't cap the flag within 30 seconds of getting a 2nd healer. even though it was fucking zen gross
Played this over the Free Weekend and am going to purchase it since it’s 50% off. So much more enjoyable than PUB. Was playing as Lucio, Hanzo, and McCree. Want to try a Tank spec out soon.
I tried to get into pubg but it's too stressful for me. I suck at overwatch but keep finding myself coming back to it.
brigitte out on ptr currently. looks really fun. ROLE SUPPORT DIFFICULTY Brigitte specializes in armor. She can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail. Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range. When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defense while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash. Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, gives her a substantial short-term boost of speed and provides long-lasting armor to all her nearby allies. ABILITIES ROCKET FLAIL Brigitte's melee weapon has an extended range, enabling her to strike multiple enemies with a single swing. REPAIR PACK Brigitte throws a Repair Pack that can heal an ally. Any healing over that ally’s maximum health provides them with armor instead. WHIP SHOT Brigitte throws her flail a long distance, dealing damage and knocking an enemy away from her. BARRIER SHIELD Brigitte deploys a frontal energy barrier to absorb a limited amount of damage. SHIELD BASH Once her Barrier Shield is deployed, Brigitte can dash forward to stun an enemy. RALLY Brigitte moves faster and provides all nearby allies with armor that lasts until it’s removed by damage.
Surprised at the one star difficulty, she looks like she might be pretty difficult to use effectively. I guess the AOE flail and passive abilities can be beneficial even if you suck. I don't see a ton of survivability though, even with the shield.
I just went 2-8 in placements, but got placed at 2932. How the fuck does that happen? Edit: This is on a smurf, and the highest it's ever been is like 2700.
Has anyone played on your smurf besides you in the past? Could have inflated MMR vs actual SR. Did you perform better than usual individually? Did you play an off-meta (or traditionally off meta) hero? Skill based SR gain is still a thing 3k and below, right? I remember Mercy players getting a ridiculous amount of SR following her buff because her stats were inflated compared to past stats. Could be the same for some of the newly buffed heroes. If not, disregard, bc Idk.
