Finally got to a show at the Comedy Store last week and saw Marc Maron, Russell Peters, Dane Cook, Jeremy Piven (he's doing standup now), Steve-O, and a few others. They only did about 15 minutes each, but Maron is the best. Just killed it the entire he was up there.
Tom Segura Completely Normal will always be his best work. Between the First 48 (I BEEN OUT HERE FOR A MINUTE) and Steven Seagal Lawman (I've been working with dogs for like 37 years), it's all pure gold.
They call it a skippy because it goes Skip Skip Skip This is my favorite bit from that standup besides First 48
I really liked the new segura special. I'm probably going to buy tickets today to see Joe koy here soon.
Jo Koy is doing two weekends in a row at my local club at the end of March. I will definitely check him out also.
I could only listen to about 20 minutes of Rock's new special. Wasnt funny at all to me and my wife. Very disappointing.
I haven't seen the netflix special but my wife and I saw him at the Fox while he was touring the material and it was great. I wouldn't say vintage Rock necessarily but still damn funny
I received tickets to see Kevin Hart last weekend In Charlotte at the spectrum arena. Na’im Lynn middled for him and did a great job of bringing the energy up (the show start was delayed almost two hours and people were pissed). As expected, Kevin’s energy level was above 9000 and he kept 40k people laughing for an hour. He’s an easy target for one reason or another and his jokes may never be as layered and thoughtful as the icons, but the delivery method itself is an art form. He’s got that mastered. Rogan was in Charlotte the same night and if things had played out a little different I would’ve tried to catch both. I wish I lived in a city with a good comedy club.
saw d’elia this weekend fuck man he’s a killer his podcasts and this past weekend put him on top of my chart i’m sure it’ll change when i see jeselnik in june though
Really good podcast called Good One. It’s an interview with a comic about how a bit was developed. They have had Bill Burr, David Cross on. Just listened to the John Mulaney episode where they discussed how people would pay just to see $100 million.
Anyone watched any of the James Acaster specials? Never heard of him, but he released 4 full-length sets all at once
Watched about 15 minutes of one. Didn't enjoy it. He’s a squirrely British guy with a touch of physical comedy. Not my thing.
Seeing Tosh tonight at my local club. I assume he is getting ready to film a new special if he doing a few non-theater gigs.
Going to the Comedy Cellar tonight. Birbiglia is one of the acts. Pretty excited. Hope someone big pops in but not betting on it.
Seeing Anthony Jeselnik later this week. Anyone been? Going in fully expecting it to be as good as any I've gone to.
Not this tour but he is amazing live. Only go w the coolest girl you know or just dudes. 65 pct of women don't like him, ruins some dates if you are not on point.
I'm a Schaub fanboy, it's kind of a guilty pleasure at this point. So I'm interested to see his special. There's zero content online of his standup...
