According to a report on Monday morning from Miami Herald reporter Armando Salguero, Miami is “already showing significant interest in seeing how Louisiana State University running back Derrius Guice will fare,” at the Combine. The LSU running back is thought to be the second running back on most draft boards, and a strong showing at the Combine could solidify that position, ranking only behind Penn State’s Saquon Barkley. The Dolphins could be in the market for a running back this year, looking to add another option next to Kenyan Drake for 2018. Miami traded running back Jay Ajayito the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2017 season, relying on Drake for the second-half of the year. Dake carried the ball 133 times during the season, picking up 644 yards with three touchdowns, along with 48 receptions for 239 yards and a score. The team had planned to pair Drake with Damien Williams, but Williams was injured through much of the late season.
'Multiple sources' expect MIA to deal Landry ESPN's Adam Schefter reports "multiple sources" believe the Dolphins are hoping to trade franchise tagged WR Jarvis Landry. The Dolphins are meeting with Landry's rep Wednesday at the Combine. The Miami Herald has reported it would be a "stunner" were Landry not to be dealt. We agree. The Dolphins have been telegraphing for a year that they did not want or expect to re-sign Landry. They would be nearly crippled in free agency by Landry's salary cap number under the franchise tag. The brain trust is clearly confident it can work out a trade.
Meanwhile Vontae Davis to Bills It’s like all our talented former players end up in the same division eventually
id actually be thrilled because it would be a sign that the organization is thinking 2-3 years down the road instead of trying to find a quick fix for this ancient roster
After letting by far our best WR go who’s in the prime of his career and still having Tanne on contract I mean I wouldn’t hate it but the timing would be awful and I think we have more pressing needs elsewhere
Been wondering if the idea is Landry and a swap of firsts (plus some?) to move up for a qb. Still not excited to see Landry go if that’s the case
I don't understand (yes i do, our management is piss poor) how we don't have much money to spend this offseason:. we have the 10 million that we wasted on Cutler, 12 million after we dumped Timmons, 8 million for Julius Thomas Free Agents: 4.75 Million - William Hayes (stupidest decision ever to just give his 2 year deal away for a 1 year deal ) 4.25 Million - Koa Misi 3.40 - Nate Allen 3.00 2.75 1.79 1.79 1.77 = 53 million dollars that we have after released or free agents. And we are STILL 7-8 million over the cap which is the 2nd worst in the entire league after the eagles who just won the damn SB. Our management has been so shitty its not even worth mentioning again Total horse shit
There is no doubt that we won't get shit. I'd be ok with trading him if we actually got something...if we get better than a fifth I'll be surprised. Tannebaum is the worst in the league
Why should he? He's played well, one of the few guys on the roster than we can say that about and we're apparently trying to unload two of them (Landry and Suh). He's earned his contract. Not his fault we broke off Stills, Kiko, and especially Branch (literally nobody was bidding against us for this bum).
Our only hope is that multiple teams get into a bidding war to trade for him We’ll end up getting a 2nd-3rd if we’re lucky
it makes no sense to get less than a 3rd. we'd get a 3rd as a comp pick for him if we let him hit FA.
move up 6 spots for tannehill? I mean he's not a pro-bowl QB, but we got a shit ton less to move down with the eagles a few years ago
ya the 11th overall pick plus an above average starting QB whos not even 30 yet seems like a lot to give up just to move up 6 spots. Their #5 and maybe a 3rd round pick is more reasonable imo
im not saying it doesn't put us in a good spot to grab a QB, but an above average QB who is under 30 in a league that is starved for QB's has to get you more than moving up 5 spots in the draft. I would almost say that you should be able to get pick 5 straight up for Tanny
I wouldn't do it unless it's to move into the top 3 or so. I don't think Rosen will be there at 5. Unless he's assured, which he def won't be at 5, I wouldn't do it. Don't really see how we get into the top 3 unless it's some kind of three way trade and our front office isn't that creative
Honestly unless Nelson or R Smith is there, if we really want to reset, we need to be trading back and amassing picks I'd love to build through the draft for once...but we need a competent GM to do that too
We need more top end talent. Problem with this team it doesn’t hit rock bottom often, it’s just average.
I just read that Landry is leaning towards signing the tender. Talk about the all time backfires. No one will trade for him at that price and we can’t afford that.
