Not that shocked about Musa. They said there would be an International spot opening up and he wasnt a key player.
He was the only Dmid we had on the roster not named Ilie. I’m guessing PVs plan would be to play Evans there if something happens to Ilie or heavan forbid he actually isn’t forced to play every single minute and wilt down the stretch again. Our midfield is currently the 3 starters, Croizet (been playing RW), Lobato/Medranda (both been playing LB) and Evans (shouldn’t even be getting minutes at his natural RB). Hopefully there’s a 9 and more midfield depth on the way or this team will hit the wall go to shit around Sept again.
That training facility is amazing. You hear the lip service of “top 5 in the world” and obviously I’ve never walked around any other top facility in the world but it’s great. Our climate doesn’t really allow for it(even though these plenty of indoor space) but the USMNT should make it their go to training site. There’s an on site cryogenic thingy for recovery with the sports medicine people on site. They have the hyperbolic chambers in there. There’s those endless lap pool things. All the fields have multiple cameras for player tracking/heat maps/analytics and there’s and analytics lab to grade training sessions.
Best version at this point is Vermes gets the USA job and Sporting goes a different direction. Let’s Vermes leave without tarnishing what he’s done here.
I think part of it is Vermes is getting a little stale, but part of it is that the team doesn't spend enough and the league is increasing favoring the clubs that spend more and more. The team need a #9 all off-season and signed nobody. Not sure if that is Vermes or the management.
Yes, but somebody gives him a budget. I was mainly talking about a bigger budget, but obviously with all that GAM/TAM should have been able to find somebody that fits that bill.
I’m holding off judgement till after the summer window is open. They had 3 different Euro DP strikers agree to contracts but their clubs wouldn’t release them midseason. As for yesterday I just rewatched cause I was beyond hammered last night. The defensive breakdowns are concerning as is the finishing (as always). NYC is really Fucking good though. I have them and Toronto in a tier all by themselves. But we’ve got to sit Roger and Rubio down. Roger doesn’t have the vision or technical skill to be a creative midfielder. Croizet looks awful on the wing because he’s not a natural winger. He had some really good interplay esp with Felipe when he cut inside, he also tracks back well and has a good work rate. Put him in the attacking mid role, let Felipe boss the midfield as an 8 and find a combo between Gerso, Salloi, Shelton to plug into the striker/RW roles.
So NE is turning into a fire sale and they’ve been shopping Nemeth over the past couple weeks. Obviously we’re going to be linked to that. Would you rather A) we spend allocation funds and bring him in now to play the 9 or B) wait till the summer window and bring in a true DP multimillion dollar striker? The obvious answer is C do both of them but PV wouldn’t dump that much money into one position.
I don't think Nemeth is what he used to be. Plus his antics last time he played SKC. I'd rather sign an outside 9. But To be fair, every DP vermes has signed has been shitty. That's a worry. I'd just rather take a chance on an outside guy than someone who might be checked out.
Rubio didn’t even make the trip, he’s playing with SPR right now. The Nemeth trade rumors with definitely start swirling.
We pressed more in that half than we did in anybhalf last year. If we stick with this Roger-Felipe midfield combo we almost have to. Still want to see Croizet in the middle.
