Varsity isn’t garbage it just falls victim to weird expectations. It’s a place that sells burgers and hot dogs and gives you a cool experience but for some reason people expect fine cuisine.
It was very basic stuff which makes sense why so many ATLiens nostalgia over it so hard. I could see myself loving it as a kid then growing up and having an evergreen fondness for it
bon ton is solid go there all the time drinks and food never disappoint. Just put chilli on everything and get onion rings at the Varsity and you can't go wrong
Best mediterranean/gyro/schwarma in ATL are both in Buckhead... 1. Pita Grille off Roswell and Wieuca -- most authentic Israeli food I've had here in the US&A. It's delicious, but overpriced for the type of establishment it is. 2. Kebob Land -- Attached to Red Pepper near Piedmont and Peachtree. I've been in there multiple times and seen flight crews from that part of the world. They literally took a cab all the way up to Buckhead to eat there. Disclaimer: I've never had that style food on Buford Hwy.
Eat there all the time as well. Not as good as Nicks but always delivers. Depending on the rotating menu the Consulate in midtown is solid for mediterranean cuisine. Mediterranea in Grant Park too.
Aladdin's at Dunwoody Place is my go-to, and they opened a second location in Emory Village about a year ago. I know the Owner and his family well, good people and good food. I usually stick to the chicken or beef shawarma, and the fattoush and falafel are solid too.

A few of yall seem to have inside scoop on developments. What type jobs do yall have to get this info?
Maybe it's different than whatever the announcement is today, but I did hear something about them and corporate offices in Atlanta. It could be as small as they were considering adding a regional office here, but even then we could be between multiple locations. I have no idea beyond just hearing their name in association with corporate offices in Atlanta.
Shaky knees after shows are out. I’ll be spending that weekend at a Variety Playhouse for War on Drugs and Fleet Foxes the next night.
Also, what I heard had no timeframe associated. I asked someone who has friends at the chamber who it could possibly be and basically copy and pasted them your message, that was their guess fwiw.
Since the story didn't come out today, he said it was Google and that the article should come out tomorrow morning.
