I can't wait till next week when Cena comes out... Once again challenges Taker by doing the "I challenge the Undertaker at Wrestlemania" and after the third time he repeats it the gong hits the arena goes black and we get Taker. I don't care that he's old... the character is still iconic I'll also bet money that Cena/Taker >>>> Roman/Brock
Cena has put on some great matches over the past few years. I don't think he can pull a great one out of the Undertaker though. That said, it'll be worth the spectacle. Will be interesting to see how that match is booked
Vince is desperate not to have Roman boo'd out the arena at Mania and its not working. When they announced Roman was suspended the arena pop'd big time and not int he manner they intended. Even making Vince a main piece of this build up because he's a clear "heel" isn't going to work. WWE would be beyond wise to have Naka/AJ close mania. Can't have the crowd for the 3rd straight year sitting on its hands or boo'ing Roman to close the show. And you don't really want Ronda/Steph (both can't work) being what people sit 5 hours waiting for at the end. Give us SMARKS what we want...
At the time I hated it and has time has unfolded I've only felt even more justified in thinking having Brock beat Taker has done nothing for anyone involved outside of legit hurting Taker's appeal for a Mania 1 off.
if Taker is going to un-retire, they need to make it like his match at Mania 28 in Miami. An overproduced spot fest with bats and shit. The 1 v 1 straight up matches just don't work anymore.
I’m pretty confident AJ/Naka closes Mania. Vince gets Roman as baby face champ, we get what we want. I’ll take that trade off.
Cena/Taker is about the only match I care to see for either of those guys, I have no doubt that two masters of storytelling will be able to put on a compelling show.
With Undertaker doing his gimmick retirement last year, Cena pulling the curtain back on takers real life, and Kid Rock heading in to the hof, I'm wondering if we get biker taker?
Yep, give them 15 min, with half of that being used for their intros. Keep them away from title pictures or guys that are already over
Hahaha, yeah right, they are going to curtain jerk the show because it’s the smackdown title, they are both smaller dudes and most of all Vince hates you
WWE catching backlash for naming the women's battle royal after Moolah. https://411mania.com/wrestling/form...emania-battle-royal-says-moolah-pimped-women/
Imagine if Vince didn't end Charlotte's PPV run for absolutely zero reason.... Undefeated Streak vs PPV Undefeated Streak
Charlotte cuts much better promo's when she's calm and not screaming it... And Asuka speaks pretty clearly.
I've been saying this for a while. he has all the talent in the world for a huge singles push. could be the black superstar they've been looking for.
They reunited Zayn and Owens last night... gonna be tough to split them up in 3 weeks to make the triple threat legit.
I think he's really found a perfect balance to what he needs to be moving forward the last few weeks. Not overly funny and just the right amount of i'm gonna kick someone's ass when delivering the promo.
– Kevin Sullivan spoke with Sports Illustrated for a new interview discussing the Undertaker possibly competing at WrestleMania and more. Highlights are below: On Paul Heyman’s influence on his booking: “Paul brought that style to ECW. Now people will say, ‘ECW was blood and violence!’ And it was, but Florida was, too. But there was wrestling involved, too. Paul E. always delivered a great match with Shane Douglas, Taz, or Tommy Dreamer. Paul also got the most out of his talent. Remember 911? He was not an athlete, but Paul saw a monster and taught him how to chokeslam guys. I stole the idea from Paul with The Giant [Big Show] in WCW. I had an athlete who needed to be trained a little bit better, so we had him chokeslam everyone until then.” On Ronda Rousey’s WWE career: “The Rousey angle is brilliant. Angle, Triple H, and Stephanie are going to be the generals in the ring, and they’re going to cover Rousey really well. People are saying Rousey isn’t going to get it, but that’s bullsh–. She is an exceptional athlete who already knows how to take bumps because of her jiu-jitsu and judo. That’s the same bump we take. This isn’t anything like trying to make Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael take a bump; Rousey knows how to take a bump. But, in this day and age with so many haters, you don’t want to expose her and put her last.” On Undertaker at WrestleMania 34: “If I was booking, I’d close the show with The Undertaker, brother. The sun is setting, he’s the Lone Ranger. I have the utmost respect for Mark and his work ethic. He’s drawn more money than anybody in the history of our business, so let’s send him off in the way he should be. I know he’s an old timer that wants to put guys over on his way out, but f— that. This is his time, and people will be telling their grandkids they saw The Undertaker’s last win at WrestleMania.”
I’ll talk to my (one day) grandkids about many things someday. Past-his-prime undertaker won’t be one of them.
Just show the Mania 24-29 matches and you’re good Which reminds me, Edge-Taker at 24 is the most under-appreciated big-time match of the last 10 years
WWE has come under a great deal of criticism for naming a women’s battle royal set for WrestleMania after the Fabulous Moolah. WWE even went so far as disabling the comments for the YouTube video on the announcement. Now it appears WWE is finally opting to change the name of the battle royal due to the fan backlash based on a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet. Additionally, it appears the name change happened after an official sponsor for WrestleMania 34 called naming the battle royal after Fabulous Moolah “unacceptable.” A rep for WWE said that the company is going to change the name of the Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34 “after further consideration.” The WWE representative stated, “After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division.” The move to name the battle royal after Moolah was highly criticized due to allegations from former Moolah trainees accusing her of taking money for women and also prostituting them for sex work, including former trainee Mad Maxine. Another reason for the change was also due probably due to pressure from corporate sponsors after fans started notifying the candy company, Snickers, which is a sponsor for WrestleMania about the controversy. Mars Wrigley Confectionary US, the parent company for Snickers, released a statement on naming the battle royal after Moolah to WrestlingInc.com. You can read the statement below: “We were recently made aware of the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc’s (WWE) decision to honor a former wrestler during the upcoming WrestleMania 34 event. As a principle-based business that has long championed creating inclusive environments that encourage and empower everyone to reach their full potential, this is unacceptable. We are engaging with the WWE to express our disappointment.” In this case, it appears WWE was made firmly aware of the negative backlash, and it eventually became too big for WWE to ignore.
Let's be honest it was probably Vince's idea in the first place. WWE can be so lazy. It stems from their thinking their audience is retarded (to be fair, a lot of us are). In their laziness they basically only have two "old people" legends among women's wrestlers (Mae and Moolah). They don't think we can remember more than two, so they only rely on two. Mae already has the tournament named after her so it was an easy A-to-B thing to say "let's name this thing after the other one." And since Vince surrounds himself with sycophants, toe suckers and Kevin Dunn (but I repeat myself), no one pointed out that naming the match after a woman who stole money from coworkers and pimped out her students might not have been the best idea.
fuck I looked for NXT and Money in the Bank tickets in Chicago like 2 weeks ago and they weren't on sale. Now there's only singles left for both. You could buy Money in the Bank tickets in St. Louis day of event.
It wasn’t my favorite but it made sense in the era it was in and he had paid his dues many times over to earn the chance to just come out as basically himself for a while But seriously Vince and taker, people want the gong and druids, not motorcycles and leather
Best case scenario for me for undertaker at mania is: shit goes black, gong, smoke, druids, fire of some sort, undertaker slowly walking out like a badass, gets to the ring, raises the lights, he is ready to wrestle...then all parties just leave. That’s all Ive wanted out of the undertaker for that last like 8-10 years; I want to mark out to his entrance and then move on to someone else wrestling
