Not really a hot take re Nickal. He capitalized on a terrible mistake by Myles otherwise he was going to be in a tough position.

Lee lost first round and beat mostly scrubs to a dozen plus points while Hayes got Heilmann and Sorensen to not get AA. The right team won but please.

Not quite, but only because of Nickal's pin. Jordan would have gotten 6.5 more points if he beat Berger (which he should have done) because Kemerer was hurt and had to MFF. If he got those points and Bo won by regular decision instead of pin fall, the team race would have ended in a tie!!! OSU would have won on criteria. (Even after OSU's deducted team point, no idea what that was for as I'm only just hearing about it now--was watching from a crowded bar) Hayes beating Heilmann was 7 points on it's own, plus whatever he could get on the backside after losing to Zain--Sorensen was a terrible matchup for him in the bloodround and he lost. If he beats Heilmann and then loses to Zain, he instead gets a winnable match against Leeth in the consis semis. Wins that and he gets Kolodzik in the 3rd place match whom he has beaten twice (once this year). As I predicted, that match decided the tournament.
