Harvard opened Ivy League play with a 10-8 W over Brown in the freezing cold. Brown never came any closer than a 2-goal deficit in the 4th quarter so not the most thrilling game but still fun to see 7 different players chipped in goals for the Crimson with Kyle Anderson leading the way with a hat trick
looks like there can be some weird shadows on this field around this time of day UVA's helmets are pretty terrible
Virginia probably will beat UNC this year, but they're now a real possibility these seniors will never win an ACC game
Denver with a 12-7 W over OSU. Penn with a 14-7 over Princeton. Yale with a 13-11 win @ Cornell. Loyola with a 15-9 W @ Navy. Maryland with a 13-11 W @ Nova Duke with a road win @ Towson, 10-8. Towson led 8-7 with 12 minutes to play before Duke went off and scored the game's final three goals. Guterding had the go-ahead goal with 4 mins left. He finished with 3 goals and an assist. Conley tacked on another 3 goals to his total as a grad transfer Albany with a 21-5 W over Vermont. Fields with 4 goals (on 8 shots) and 6 assists Jakob Patterson with 7 goals for the Danes. Nanticoke with 3 goals and 2 assists
I was on the far side of the field on the grass berm facing the sun. It was awful hahaha. I think we face Duke around the same time. I'll be on the near side in the stands for that one haha
https://dailygazette.com/article/2018/03/16/no-1-ualbany-men-s-lacrosse-winning-on-and-off-field article on Albany's efforts to increase attendance and how they've had great success doing so this year
DeToxRox have you paid attention to Michigan at all this year? We play you guys Wednesday, just wondering what to expect
A little bit. Team seems pesky but they are inconsistent. I feel like we end up going down early but are resilient enough to battle back. That said, we lost both road games to ranked teams. Both games were competitive but it seems like we don’t have the talent up and down the lineup to compete quite yet. Early returns on Conry seem good though and a win at ND would be the statement game this team needs.
this Saturday is gonna be so tits Harvard/Dartmouth in the afternoon then a quick drive to Lowell for Albany/UMass Lowell #blessed
just wow Harvard with a 19-18 OT win vs BU Morgan Cheek WITH 13 POINTS (a school record)!!! 5 goals and 8 assists...!! Harvard erased a six-goal fourth quarter deficit. Joe Lang with 9 points (4 goals and 5 assists) and Kyle Anderson with 8 points (7 goals and 1 assist). 30 points combined from their starting attack group, a program record. Cheek apparently scored 8 goals against Brown in 2016. He's filthy (obviously)
UVA with a 12-6 W over Dartmouth. Now 7-2 on the year Albany with a 19-11 W over Canisius. Fields with 5 goals (on 8 shots) and 3 assists. Nanticoke with 3 goals and 3 assists
5-4 Michigan at the half. They have had all the energy. ND is shooting 4 of 18 and even that doesn't do it justice. Will be a tight to the finish here this afternoon
tomorrow Hopkins @ UVA on ESPNU (11:30 AM ET) Princeton @ Yale on WatchESPN (1 PM ET) Cuse @ Duke on ESPNU (1:30 PM ET) Sunday ND @ OSU on ESPNU (12 PM ET)
Watching my first game of the year. I know very little about lacrosse but I lived behind Klockner in law school and used to run there every day. Just watching games there in the spring makes me happy, it’s such a cool venue.
There’s a proposal to build a new softball stadium on the practice field you see above the right hand side of the field. Hope they can do it in a way that doesn’t compromise Klockner or Davenport.
Jhu takes a 1 goal lead in the 4th Duke Syracuse on espn3 Princeton Yale on I've league network (espn3) What a day
Wow I think this is a 12-2 run from Hopkins since the start of the second half. Edit 11-2 per TV Gonna walk over to Harvard here in a minute
That was sad. Hope it leads Carla to reach out to him. Don’t think many UVA fans are Littlepage’s biggest fans.
Michigan opens B1G play next weekend with Maryland. I don’t believe the program has won a conference game yet, and while I don’t expect it happens next week, I feel confident we will clip someone this season.
Met Dom a few years ago when another coaching legend of the sport I am friends with introduced me to him. My friend speaks pretty highly of Dom as a person. Helped our coaching staff out immensely two falls ago giving an extensive break down on zone defense. Not surprising that it somewhat helped us to arguably the best season in school history. I'm surprised at how much worse for the wear he looks since then. That was just like 18 months ago and he looks like he has aged several years since then. This whole fiasco looks like it could be sending him to an earlier grave.
Ironically, this coaching friend of mine and Dom both got extremely raw deals form their respective institutions. I still to this day have absolutely no clue why he got fired outside of the athletic director being an incompetent bafoon. The AD rightfully got axed within a year and the current administration has done things to rectify the situation as much as possible. Sad to see how much Dom is struggling with it and how the current administration continues to do nothing to attempt to right the wrongs.
The key for us this year is gonna be our freshman goaltender. He's had two bad games where he got pulled at half, and not surprising, we lost both those. But just like against Denver (for the most part), he bounced back and had a great game today. If he can save over 50%, we got a stew going. If he's letting anything and everything get by him like at Maryland and against Michigan, we can't score enough to keep up. Our defense is built around giving up those long shots, but that's not very successful if those shots are going in.
Fields missed the second half of Albany's win at UMass Lowell this past weekend. He sprained his knee. He returned to action tonight in Albany's 14-6 W over Harvard Fri, Mar 30 5 p.m.: UNC at Duke ESPNU Sat, Mar 31 3 p.m.: Ohio State at Penn State ESPNU Sat, Mar 31 5 p.m.: Notre Dame at Syracuse ESPNU
Michigan plays Maryland this weekend on BTN. Really excited to check them out, despite the knowledge that we won’t win this game.
