Mixed reviews. I purchased it with the intent to play on Saturday evenings with some friends. After a week or so of my friends playing it nonstop, they’re bored with it. I’ve only played it twice and have had tons of fun. What I’m getting at is there isn’t much to do and gets super repetitive.
Got dam. You kids have no idea what 'super repetitive' is. I have no idea how many rounds of tetris I played as a young lad.
game is getting a lot of love on Twitch due to summit. kinda makes me want to get into it. only played it a little when it was first released.
It wanted to like it. Didn’t buy at launch after it came apparent it was pretty bare bones. I played a bunch of the betas and had a blast. Logged on through game pass couple months ago to explore the new island and my crew was still bored. Didn’t see any other ship. What’s new his time around?
I’m a jaded lover. It had loads of potential but was ultimately hollow. It was telling when the most memorable moments were just me and some friends dicking around because there was nothing to do outside of repetitive fetch quests.
yeah i'm not sure exactly what has been updated. it's probably just got a higher player count now cause some top streamers are giving it a shot. i dont like completely linear games, but SoT seemed to have no direction when it was first released. still dont know if it's much more than sail to island, find treasure, sail to new island, find treasure. but i havent really watched more than a couple hours of new gameplay and maybe it was the users making it appear more fun.
just bought last week with 3 friends on steam sale. didn't hold too much hope but we've been playing non-stop and loving it. seems like it got mixed reviews at the beginning but from what i've seen the monthly content updates since launch have righted the ship and game is a lot more dense and better now apparently. hoping that's true, but yeah i love it a lot and am still playing non-stop with a crew.
